Are they sleeping?
torpor like hibernation yes. When water is cold they slow down to save energy. but if they are hungry they will eat the algae in the pond! It is going to be more fun in Summer for feeding!

Gin Rin kohaku! Oh they are one of my favorites. I have been searching for a good one! We will be trying breeding this year too. Will make a video of the baby koi!
