Thank you so much! Im really glad you said that, because that's exactly what I'm going for!
Beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Nice job! Amazing place. Thanks for taking me along!
Im so glad you enjoyed it!
Really great footage! Nice finish with that Black Bear and her cub. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you liked it!
That moose!! Love the coffee montage as well. I’ve never been to Yellowstone, so this is so fun to see. Thank you.
Thanks so much buddy! Thanks for watching! ✌️
Thanks so much for sharing another wonderful video like always, great photos and I love the photos with the man and the horse 🐴👍👌
✌️
Josh , the footage in this video is just incredible and so beautifully shot ! You did such an amazing job showing us how vast in nature Yellowstone is and every image was more remarkable than the one before it . That MOOSE was hard to believe along with the herds of bison and if that wasn’t enough let’s finish off with these bears ! All truly amazing ! Another stellar , thoroughly enjoyable video ! I’m so grateful you took us along .
Im so glad you liked it! I am so happy with how it turned out, and im so thankful for the opportunity to be there with Lindsay!
incredible footage! i was there 2yrs ago and it was amazing, just waking up every day and driving until you see some wildlife. We seen it all....Grizzlies, Elk, Moose, Deer, and even a Bald Eagle!
Thank you! That must of been an amazing experience!
I enjoyed your video! Yellowstone is one of my favorite places to visit. I try to get there at least once a year. Great place to make videos and take photos.
Thanks so much!
This guy is living my dream life! 😄
Bro, I’m trying to live this life haha
Excellent video!!
Thank you!!
Well done, nice report! Apart from the bison, which are wonderful, the encounter with the moose and the black bear is very interesting!
Thank you! Thank you for watching!
Awesome vid. That moose was awesome. Hard to beat Lamar Valley. I was able to see a wolf last summer in Lamar chasing a coyote. Keep the vids coming.
Thanks so much! I LOVED the Lamar Valley, and man. I would have loved to see that wolf! And thanks so much! Im in the Tetons right now, so hopefully I'll have some soon!
Nice video ! Cheers from Argentina 🇦🇷 !
Thank you for watching! ✌️
Great Video, greetings from Germany. Keep the work up 👍
Thanks so much! ✌️
I just returned from Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and simply loved them both. They are such beautiful places to visit. I was able to see a variety of wildlife like black bears, grizzlies, bisons, coyote, bighorn sheeps, elks, etc. The only animal that I did not spot was the wolf. Amazing places and can't wait to return.
I’m glad you had such a good trip! The wolves are elusive for sure
I have been to Yellowstone numerous times, winter spring and summer. I have yet to get there in the fall. But one thing is always a constant, the Bison. You can always find them. 🙂 Nice video, made me want to go there. Lol. Thanks for sharing!
I wasn't prepared for how many there was going to be! It was awesome!
Your video footage is absolutely amazing! I can't believe you don't have more subscribers. Be patient though, they will come..
Thanks you so much Brian! I really appreciate that, and hopefully someday 🤞🏻
Great videography. At the 9:41 mark ; top left - looks like a griz in the creek.
Thanks so much for spotting that! I didnt see it until someone else pointed it out, and it sure does! It was too far for my naked eye to see.
Your work is amazing. Taking us along with you on your trips is great. Thank you. Keep up the fantastic work.
Thanks Dad! Im glad you liked it!
Just beautiful! Your attention to all the eye can see is a wonderful gift to all that watch your videos. I loved the dew on the leaves and the little chipmunk (not sure if that was what he was) plus the flowers. It helps paint the landscape we are viewing. I love the baby bison. They are adorable to watch. Thank you for taking us on your adventures.❤❤
Thanks so much Mom! Im so glad you liked it! I love you! ❤️
Hello, new to your outdoor photography! Beyond Amazing footage!! So grateful for such beauty and the wildlife experience!! Thank You!!
Thanks so much for watching!
Dude you’re living my dream!!! I want an overlanding setup to do wildlife photography so bad lol.. great video brother! Keep them coming 🙏
Haha thanks man! I really appreciate it! My channel is fairly new, but I have been working on this "dream" for like 10 years haha.
This video is amazing! You captured the beauty of Yellowstone so well!
Thank you so much! ✌️
Amazing footage Josh, keep up the adventures and the living life to the fullest!
Thank you so much for watching! Im glad you enjoyed it!
I wish i had that choice and easy access you have. I can’t even hike to anything interesting around these parts, and if I could, i’d probably die of heat stroke! Did you say something about a wolf? man. rub it in!! :)
Thank you! We didn’t get to see any wolves, but we got to see a lot of other things!
Josh, I'm 56 and shooting a long time, enjoy getting the easy shots, times will come when you have to make the trek to find an image and plenty of times when you will make the trek all for nothing...so enjoy the easier shots.
Thanks so much for watching Randy! I totally agree! Here in Wisconsin, I can spend 40 hours in the woods, and not see anything at all. So I think when its just so accessible, It almost feels wrong haha. Im trying to get over it, and just enjoy the moment!
What a beautiful place! Great video. Well done 👍🏻 Regards Andrew
Thank you so much! Thanks for watching!
Josh, nice work getting out there and sharing your experiences.
I appreciate that!
I completely understand what you mean by feeling like a “roadside” wildlife photographer. I remember going to Cades cove in Tennessee, driving the loop and competing with other travelers and feeling a little rushed. Unfortunately sometimes we have to do what we can to get a great shot. I still always love backpacking trails and open fields and coming acrossed candid moments in nature.
Thank you so much for saying all of that, it really is a struggle. I definitely felt more "alone" on this last trip to Wind Cave, so it made me feel a little bit better haha.
Excellent video. I shouldnt have watched it, though - because now Im mentally in Yellowstone taking photos, but in reality I'll be at work in an hour! 😂 Seriously though, I love videos like this where the viewer is along for the ride. Great work and thanks for posting.
Haha don’t worry; me too! I just day dream about going back. Thank you so much! It really means a lot to me! ✌️
Just subbed!
Thanks! ✌️
Hey! Cinematography and story telling is so amazing. I am subscribing. Keep up the good work mate.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to
Me!
Awesome stuff man, looks like you had a great time in the park! I live in Gardiner and work in the park and am out there shooting all the time. If you make your way back out this way, don’t hesitate to reach out, I’d love to shoot with you, and hopefully put you on some grizzlies and wolves :)
Thank you so much! I loved watching your videos too! I would love to meet up, I was actually thinking about maybe going out in early winter, maybe late NOV / early DEC? Do you think that would be a good time?
@@FoxandFir Sorry just seeing this! For sure dude, it was a great video!
That’s not so much a good time for Yellowstone, but that’s a great time to be in the Tetons. Right around that time the bighorn sheep rut is in full gear on the elk refuge and the moose are in their post-rut stage and are very visible on he sagebrush flats in the south portion of the park.
@@wattswildlifephoto You are a Plethora of information! Wow! Thank you! I currently have DEC 1 - DEC 15th blocked off for a trip, if you're in the area, I would love to meet up! If not, I'm sure I'll be back in Yellowstone in spring!
@@FoxandFir Absolutely, glad I could help! I will be in the area, but most likely in Gardiner and working at that time. But let’s keep in touch, if I get some free time and there’s any way we can meet up I’m definitely down!
@@wattswildlifephoto That sounds great! I'll let you know when I head out! So Stoked!
Hi Josh, we are leaving next week to spend a few months traveling around Yellowstone. Like you, we boondock. Last year we spend most of our time on the West side BD’ing in Island Park. This year we are planning the NE park entrance around Cooke City.
Can you tell me if the BD’ing area at Pilot Creek is ok and open after the floods. From your videos, seems your right near that area. Also, any other options around Cooke. Keep up the great work. You have me about ready to pull the trigger on a camera setup. Our iPhone+spotting scope setup is difficult to take great pictures with.
Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by! You are totally correct, and we were right by Pilot Creek. There is a small spot on the north side of the road also thats wonderful. Both spots are totally still open! The Lamar Valley side of Yellowstone has some significant damage though. When we were there, they were shutting down NE ENTRANCE ROAD at night, to do blasting to fix the road, so thats something to keep in mind also.
Excellent video, love the bison and the red dogs in the herd. Bears are awesome at the end as well. Thanks and subbed.
Thank you so much! Im glad you enjoyed!
Note for your next trip in -The trail head at Slough Creek where you stopped mid-day is a good trek with a long lens, head on a swivel is needed.
Thanks for the tip! I will totally take a hike there next time im there! I wrote it down in my notebook!
Love the pics/videos and the music is great! Would you be willing to share some of your equipment you are using? I am thinking about getting into photography to document our travels. Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you so much! I spend a lot of time on picking music, so I really appreciate that!
We live in TN on the TN/VA border. I shared your channel with my sister. She loves Yellowstone. Thanks again. Beautiful job!
Hey guys. Do you have to pull permits for shooting stuff you post on youtube?
Hi. It’s my understanding that they are not interested in people like me. I spoke with a Ranger said that they are only worried about larger productions, and this excerpt is from the NPS website “The primary focus of the NPS, however, is on commercial filming that has the potential to impact park resources and visitors beyond what occurs from normal visitor use of park areas.”
A black and brown bear.🤩😍
They were so amazing to watch!
Bro, you are amazing! Teton and Yellowstone is my big dream to visit! You got amazing shots, so beautiful. Pls, put in a description of your Instagram profile, Threads, or whatever and pls tell me more about your camera bag, it looks aaaaamazing. :)
❤️thank you so much! We LOVED them both! Truly a bucket list place to visit! My IG is just @foxandfir. Just like UA-cam. I have a TikTok too. And the bag is a F-Stop Gear Sukha! It’s been a great bag with a few small negatives. But overall I like it!
Great photographs, Yellowstone is on my bucket list. What's the music at the beginning?
Thank you! The first song was South Wind, by Sons of Anne Harky!
@FoxandFir that's great, thank you for getting back to me. Keep up the great photography.
Awesome video!!
Thank you so much!
One thing people underestimate is how far an how fast animals can cover terrain they can be at a distance but in a moment they can be on you something you have to consider when you leave your car ❌💀
👍
Hi, I appreciate the footage and for sharing your experience with us. However, where are the stills that you photographed? 🤨 The only reason I clicked on your video is because it says in the title "...Wildlife PHOTOGRAPHY". I believe what you shared here is called videography, not photography. It would be nice if at least some of the stills would be shown during the video. Maybe next time...🤔
Thanks so much for the feedback! I feel like posting the photos in the video takes away from the pacing. If you want to see the stills, I have an instagram. But I’ll for sure keep it in mind for the future! ✌️
Nice video! Are using EF glass with a RF adapter?
thank you! Yes I am!
Just found your channel, loved it. Keep up the good work and great videography
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it, and thanks so much for watching!
is that a bear crossing the distant river, at 942?
I think so! I didn’t see it with my naked eye, but it for sure looks like it!
What camera do you use?
Great footage btw :)
Thanks so much! I use the Canon R5!
Bear at 9:42 along the river in the background.
That is a REALLY great spot! I cant believe I didn't see that until now!
Bear at 9:41 way in the back
🙏🏻
❤nice!
Thanks so much!
I don’t understand why we as photographers do this to ourselves. Why do we feel like we need to suffer or struggle for something to be worthy?
Isn’t it about creating an aesthetically pleasing image by using our skills while enjoying our time outdoors?
Some of the nicest photos I’ve seen were done with little effort at all, and as the viewer we wouldn’t even know that.
It’s the same with portrait photography. Some people don’t value good shots unless there’s an elaborate lighting setup and all the rest, when sometimes simple is just as awesome.
We tend to judge based on the investment made to get the shot rather than the shot itself.
Personally I’m here to take and make great shots by whatever method, not to make investments of time, money or effort; and to enjoy the experience and appreciate the resulting image.
I agree. I feel like, unless I almost kill myself by getting to the location, the photos are not worthy. Thank you so much for your comment, it really means a lot!
Just my opinion, but people who feel like it's cheating I think often take it for granted what we as a country have available AND someone's ability to see such things financially/physically speaking. There are plenty of people who would love to be able to see the park and this video might be as close as they get. You could always hike out into the woods at YS... might also be the last hike you do lol. :)
I totally understand where you are coming from. I think I feel that way, because where I live (South Eastern Wisconsin) For every 20-30 hours of hiking and being in the woods, I might have 3-4 minutes with an animal to photograph. Where when I'm in a national park, I can essentially drive up to almost any species I want and capture amazing footage. I think it's from years of struggling to find anything at all. But thats just me. I love our National Park system, and I love that its very accessible for millions of people.
It's so easily accessible. All you need a high limit credit card for $8000+ camera gear and a cheap rental car. Anyone get great photos with today's phenomenal auto focus cameras
I capturing a picture perfect image of bear and her cub and wanted to share it with park staff for free. They just blew me off .... it's such a common place
Awesome video man🤜🏼 what ballhead are u using?
Thanks so much! I’m using a Gitzo Fluid gimbal. I would say it’s ok. It’s great for photos, but video is still a little hard to use.
Love it, Josh! Quick question: How did you get that drone footage? I thought it was restricted so I didn't use mine when I went :/
Thanks! I didn’t fly it in the park. All the footage is from outside the borders.
@@FoxandFir Gotcha! It looked awesome. I was too nervous to even attempt it! lol
Great video Josh! I just found your channel. What kind of gear are you using? It’s really great quality. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it! I shoot Canon exclusively. The "vlog" part is shot on a R6, and the wildlife is shot on a R5!
@@FoxandFir oh nice I shoot canon also! I use the R5 and I just recently picked up an r7 and the rf 100-500. I’m trying to get more into wildlife photograph. You look like your using a nice lens.
Epic vlog!! Do you need permision to camp there? Gr from the Netherlands
Thanks so much! In the US, you can camp in certain areas without a permit. This was one of those places! Its first come, first serve
In the beginning you obviously did a gorgeous drone flight, which, of course, is illegal in national parks. I am surprised you posted it. The park police might come. I loved that shot!
Thanks for the comment, I fly my drones in the legal area of National Forests, not the National Park. We are also not allowed to Camp in the park, so we usually stay just outside.
Great video, I have to ask, were you using a drone in a National Park?
Thanks for watching! Nope, I am a FAA UAG certified Pilot, and only fly within National Forests or open airspace around national parks.
Well done@@FoxandFir
Come to Georgia where you won't see much other than the same few very common species, rarely. Where you will go weeks, months without a single decent shot.
Oh it’s the same here in Wisconsin. Thats why I felt like I was doing something wrong, or cheating with seeing all the animals. I spent weeks in search for a good composition, and in Yellowstone there is one at every turn.
What’s the full camera setup in this vid?
It’s a canon R5, a canon 400mm 2.8 IS II, and I switch between a bare 400, and a 1.4 TC, 2X TC. The vlogging camera is a canon R6, with a RF 24-70 2.8 IS. I have since moved on from a R5 to R3, and the R5 is now my vlogging camera, along with a 15-35 2.8 IS
!!!!!
🙏🏻
So no one sees the grizzly at 9:43? Out by the river!
I didn’t see it until I got home and saw it on the screen! I couldn’t see it with my naked eye.
What lens is that?
Canon 400mm 2.8 IS II L
@@FoxandFir thank you
You keep referring to we. Is there someone with you.?
My Wife was on the trip with me, but doesn't want to be in front of the camera.
By the way there’s a lot of free music. You might one to change it up once in awhile😊
Thanks for stopping by. Actually Music is not free, and needs to be licensed to be used on UA-cam, or its a copyright infringement.
In most cases that I have came across the wildlife are much more relaxed around photographers in spots where they encounter humans all the time. You hike out to the middle of no mans land and the 1st time you make a human noise and the wildlife runs off ASAP.
Thats my experience too, I was just shocked that they let me get so close, with almost no care in the world
fc
👍
Baiting is cheating I’ve hiked in to get a shot use my jeep as a blind just got a kayak see how that goes- Yellowstone is the wild make no mistake if you’re shooting from the roadside always check your back ❌💀
👍
Yup, road rage is getting bad out there!😏
Hey man! Beautiful video! May I know what is the sleeve you used for your gitzo gimbal with the converter pouch?
Thanks so much! The gimbal wrap is just a lenscoat that they made for that specific gimbal. And the converter pouch is just an sold canon pouch that I had laying around 😂
