  • Brew Coffee in your Vitamix!
    Recipe:
    3 C Water
    1 C Coffee Beans (whole)
    Instructions:
Add ingredients into Vitamix in order listed. Place black lid and safety lid plug on the Vitamix container. Start on a low speed. Move dial from Speed 1 up to 10. If your Vitamix has a "High" switch, turn it on now. If you have a "Hot Soup" preset you may use this instead of the 1-10 and high. Blend with the Black lid on for 5-6 minutes or until it turns off automatically when using a preset. Turn off Vitamix and unplug if there is no on/off switch. Strain Coffee through a very fine strainer, or with one of the single serving coffee filters that fit on a mug. This will make plenty of coffee to keep several cups cold for use later or for coffee ice creams. Add a little milk or cream to your coffee if you like it that way and enjoy. So rich and delicious, you will love it!

I make a modified Turkish coffee - turkish grind, brought up to a boil, and NO FILTER! I use a Corning 1 quart saucepan to "cook" it in.Let it sit for a few minutes, then, slowly pour into coffee cups until you see the sludge and stop pouring before any gets into the coffee cup. Your video, "Vitamix Coffee" seems close to that method, but my suggestion would be to ditch the filter. It's simpler and may have additional health benefits when unfiltered. I'm going to purchase a Vitamix, and plan to conduct some experiments with this form of coffee making.

Think I'll try pouring it in a French Press although the coffee might be too fine. Or pour it into a filtered pour over. The nut milk bags are too messy.

So you always have to strain it twice?

Does it have any crema at the top of the vitamix? Those golden oils?
Does it really taste better than regular drip or french press if beans were finely ground?

Yes actually! I was amazed the first time I tried it. The flavor is much richer and full bodied. It may take some experimenting to get just right for you, and if I was to redo this video I would just pour it through a regular large coffee filter, straining it all at once at the coffee's leisure. Thanks for watching.

hi, i got my vitamix machine but havent used it for coffee. Thanks for sharing! .. But I have one question: can we blend the coffee bean in vitamix longer time, so that it is 100% blended as the state of powder & therefore they can be completely soluble in water. Then we just no need to go through the filtering process?? does it work? anyone have ideas are welcome! thanks ^^
    (p.s. i ain't going to purchase the extra-cost dry-blend container)

No matter how long you blend it, the coffee beans don't become completely soluble in water.
The best you can hope for is such a fine grind that it the result will be like Turkish coffee, with fine mud in the bottom.
      It's very strong, but enjoyable.

What a weird backdrop? Ok 👌 I’ll try this ... Looks like lot of work for coffee

I have come to think its way too much work for coffee honestly, but still grind my beans in the dry container. Yeah this was one of my very early videos, yikes

So your coffee looks very black. Mine was like a milky brown perhaps from oils?, also the separation of grounds from the liquid is a pain! We probably need a filter flask and vacuum filter for best results

The most vital information of what speed for 5 1/2 minutes is missing, Details are very important.

Douglas Myers Yeah this was one of my early videos. I have since perfected the coffee making. Soon I will edit this video and add much simpler steps. The key is to just have a normal coffee filter over a cup or carafe, or french press that you can use to filter the coffee after you brew it. So much simpler that way and it still comes out so much more flavorful! Thanks for watching.

Yea this probably is about the same as a cold brew. With less bitter flavors with a hot French press. Seriously smoother and a different experience. The filtering Is a pain tho

+You Can Cook - I also was thinking, "just French Press it!" I will try this.
