Nice teardown! Thanks! I have found that the Fluke 175 does indeed have a connection / preparation for backlighting! you can even activate it by pressing it with the rubber button (at least works for me)
Golden tip; don't pry the battery connector with a screwdriver, you shortcut the battery and the connected print of the meter and there is a serious risk of destroying your meter. Use a plastic wedge !
good tip, I used a slim screwdriver because I am aware of this possibility which is not making the battery very happy, maybe I will buy some plastic levers in the future just for this purpose...
@@aicisha Yes, fluke 77 IV. There is a thin white resistor damage. It suppose to be a 1 MOhm special resistor and I don't know it's name and where to buy it.
Thanks, it helped me a lot for repairing my device!

no, use your finger tips like a man. I'll give you a golden tip right in your pooper

Amen, Brother!
Hello. Tell me, I have a Fluke 179, in diode test mode, at the output of the device 7.3 Volts. Does your device have this voltage too?
Excellent review.
Thanks, but I am not a pro, I just want to be helpful
What component is making the beeping? Is it the circular piece left in the yellow enclosure? Mine has stopped working...
Yes, that is the beeper.
Hi. I have a multimeter that if you select continuity the buzzer sounds without no cables. What could it be this problem?
You have a Fluke?

@@javierrodriguez6877you mean the resistor under the black shielding plastic that I did not remove in my video?
@@aicisha Yes, that one. I think is a shunt resistor.
@@javierrodriguez6877 it is a "hybrid resistor divider network", not a current measuring resistor
No display at any switch position, what can be the fault at good battery ?
maybe broken pcb trace or bad connection? you have to do some troubleshooting...
excelente herramienta
does anyone know where i can find a replacement beeper
my 179 doesn't have a beeper in it
you can search for sale a damaged similar multimeter on ebay or local selling website, or you can ask on eevblog forum...
