  • A quick look at an older Triumph Speedmaster. It's an 865 cc cruiser along with the some of the little things I do when I buy a used bike to clean up the chrome, etc,

That is one of the very rare hand painted tanks! Wow. I have a 2014 I am restoring, that tank is amazing and I wish I had one.
I do like that sound, and I agree the Speedmaster is a great classic bike.

Love the video. I "had" that same exact model, 2004 TS Red. I currently have a, '14 Thruxton and about to acquire a TS '04 blue. Life is great.

they sound different because the america/speedmaster was 270º firing order instead of 360º same engine though as the other triumphs. all parts are all practically swappable

You just nailed it (admittedly I’m not very good at the level of firing interval talk so I appreciate the clarity). Subsequently added BC Cocktail Shakers for an even more enhanced throaty growl. Ty!

Those look and sound like BC (British Customs) Bomber exhaust on your bike

Yes, they sure do. They are actually Bubs and I still have them in the garage. Went with my favorite, BC Cocktail Shakers!

Had an '08 Speedmaster that looked just like the one here in the video. Awesome motorcycle but heavy for what it was...too heavy for me so I sold it after 6 years of ownership...

Well, come on man. Where is the pic/video with the new tank? Nice video and especially appreciate the metal scrubbing/cleaning.

I love the looks of the speedmaster. Im 5'11 and 250lbs. Would it fit a bigger guy?

Displacement-wise you’d be on a Thunderbird/ Storm. But I have one of these nice handling 900’s (‘11 America) for cruising around with that sweet exhaust note. Two-up and your size would be T-bird or Harley time I would think.

    Nice looking bike. Very clean.
Love to know where you got that tank? Was it an ebay find? My favorite color scheme for the speedmaster 865cc's is the black and white combo. Love to get my hands on one of those.

Yes indeed. There’s one on Cycle Trader with a tan leather seat and bags (black with white) and also one on the San Francisco area FB Marketplace. I like that light blue because of what BC did with it on a custom job. I’m doing another (2007) right now. I will post. Yes, eBay find in Oregon, brand new $500.

Thanks for your reply. Actually I already purchased a jet Black 2009 Speedmaster and was looking to purchase a stock Triumph B&W color scheme fuel tank (alone). I may just have to have it painted at some point. My Speedy is being shipped to me from out of state and is due arrive this upcoming week. I've always wanted a Speedmaster due to it's classic look and modern engineering so I'm very much looking forward to my maiden voyage on her!! How's your bike running BTW? I was told that if the battery is not FULLY charged on the 865cc models the engine will not start. What is your experience, have you found this to be the case?

@@danield831 Sounds like a great purchase. I really enjoy the 865cc with the 270 degree firing interval. They ride and handle nice. it feels like real motorcycling. I'm working on a 2007 right now...I'll post a walk around vid for you. Never an issue with the battery on these. Minimal reliance..not even a gas gauge!

Any interest in selling one of the Tanks? I have a 2007 I’m fixing up.
