- Hey Everyone,
I hope you are well!
Here is a walk-round on the wonderfully simple and beautifully crafted Triumph Speedmaster 1200.
Triumph leant me this stunning machine for the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2022 and I'm just sorry that I didn't get to spend more time with it!
It was an absolute pleasure and hopefully I can get it back in the future in order to do some ride reviews and adventures for you!
Anyway, enjoy!!

"don't kick a gift horse in the mouth" that is the best advice ever, love it , keep up the good work, thanks for another great vid.
I mean, I'm sure it will serve people well! 🤣
I like the Speedmaster! The retro helmet is nice too! And, thanks again for supporting DGR. Bringing your viewers to that worthy cause was an absolutely wonderful thing to do!
Thanks John! I can't wait to do it again next year 😊
That bike is stunning . Triumph really know how to build a quality bike .
It's beautiful isn't it!
So glad you did the DGR. I’m glade Triumph throws a nod back to the retro styling of old with this one. And you too, the red was the right choice. Looking snazzy and sassy! Thanks for the song at the end!🤩 Love that!!
Well, I had guidance from the best 😇
@@UsernameKate just confirmed what you already knew, Superstar!💫
Hey Kate,
Great review! I absolutely love, Triumph's, and that Speed master is gorgeous, my neighbour has one and I hear it growl up the street all the time. Awesome outfit for the occasion.
Ride safe...🏍💨💨💨
Annie from Oz. 🇦🇺🖐
Oh they defo growl Annie! It has such a nice sound to it! Addictive!
Oof no kicking lol 😂
"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"
Fantastic looking bike, thanks for the vid.
🎩👌
Haha thanks R.D 😊
i love my 2018. added mids, it's perfect!
I like that a lot👍thanks for the walk around 👏👏x
Hi Kate.Nice sunny day for a walk-round.You looked fantastic in your DGR outfit.🙂
Thanks Trevor!
The Speedmaster was my first "Big" bike. I love It. ❤️
Such a cool thing!
Out of all the bikes you've shown i Iike this one best
😁
Lovely looking bike, sounds great. Love the signing at the end
Hi Kate as a lad of the 50s / and 60s it's a blast from the past so many bike manufacturers are doing the retro thing, I do love them, but at Thirteen years old in 1969 it was the up and coming Japanese machines I dreamt of. The funny thing is I've gone from sports bikes to hyperbikes, and my last three bikes have been the mighty GS's, but those retro machines do have an appeal, thanks' for the review Kate...
I remember owning a Honda CB72 back in the day.. Great bike!
Lovely bike Kate! I ordered a Speedmaster Gold Line edition last October and it arrived at the Triumph dealer about 6 weeks ago. I'm still running it in but it is a superb motorcycle, and as you say its so easy to ride... 👍
I've ordered a chrome edition but have to wait 3 months 😢. I hope I've made the right decision...not had this type of bike before and its not cheap! How are you getting on with yours?
@@paulyflyer8154 I've only just done 600 miles so it needs its first running in service but so far so good. The only thing I have encountered is when the engine is hot it sometimes stalls as you go to pull away. I am hoping they will be able to address this during the service. I suspect it is due to Euro 5 regs and running the engine lean. Apart from that it seems to be perfect.
Beautiful classic style bike (and you! ) :-) thx for review
I have a 2018 model and - to gently correct you - if you gun it, you do have to hang on a bit. But I know what you mean, it's not a ferocious sports bike and not trying to be.
I think you have to have the right mindset/attitude when you get on, to fully enjoy this gorgeous-looking cruiser.
My Tiger 900 GT Pro is for different riding....
Glad you did the walk-around after seeing you on it at the DGR.
Yea just need to hop on and enjoy a more chilled pace. Not a bad thing at all 😊
Love the clothing statement of the refined gentleman's cruiser!!! Great bike, pretty pricey for less. (Owned 1 for years, LOVED IT!)
With singing! Bravo!
I love the triumph cruisers as far as looks go. All of them are beautiful in their own way. I just can't go forward controls. I like to be able to stand up either to stretch or for potholes.
By the way, you rocked the look and still kept it wonderfully feminine.
You really nail all aspects walk-around, riding, travel, events and family. Fan for life here
Very clever how the rear frame lines make it look like a rigid rear end at a glance.
Agreed 👍🏻
Very nice bike and very good presentation ! thx
Hi Kate👍....lovely bike sounds amazing, love that twin sound...thank you for such an informative and easy going walk around. Excellent video as ever 😊🥰👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks Iain :)
Good video I like the variety of bikes you ride keep up the good work 👍🏍
Thanks Karl! 😁
Great walk around get you in fancy bike gear👍 Bike Looks lovely and comfortable, sounds 👌
😊
Great video 👍🏼
Great insight and well presented , I was looking at one when I fell in love with my current bobber , but will be next bike most probably . Subbed your vids. Greetings from Glasgow
Thanks for subbing! I appreciate that 😊
Just found your channel. Nice review of an excellent motorcycle. I have a 2022 Speedy and absolutely love riding this bike. So comfortable with more than enough power. One of the best stock seats I've found.
The seat is amazing isnt it!!!
What a beauty, very distinguished motorcycle and nice to touch for you to wear the appropriate attire. Love the braces! Hope you’re feeling a little better on this gorgeous Monday. Stay safe and cool 👍
I'm not I'm afraid, still dizzy and can't hear much! But thank you for your kind comment, it made the day a little better 😊
well, you look also very stunning too, ....not just this beautiful bike 🙂 ....we've got two hot machines right here!
🤣 cheers
Classic look.. both of ya 👍
Thanks! 😊
We are same height & inseam & I just sat on this bike at my local Triumph dealer & immediately fell in love. 😍 Will ride on their Demo Day coming up in a week.
Nice review, I've subscribed!
Right, smart looking Kate, subscribed and belled.
Also saw the video where you drive away from robbers. Brave girl. Being alert and keeping cool and collected made the all difference. You ride really well.
Alright, nice ridding.
Cheers.
Thank you for subscribing and for your kind words! I appreciate them 😊
Enjoyed the review, and found the info about the weight, seat height and maneuverability when you are off the bike useful. This would be relevant for my garage access etc. I'm thinking of possible p.x. of my Trident for this more laid back style to suit my ageing bod! All the best 👍.
I like the look Kate, awesome bike.
Thank you!!
Rock on Tommy ! looks super comfy , nothing that stands out to fault , would def have you , err mean the bonne
It is a wonderful thing to behold, not sure I would get on with feet forward but never rode a cruiser so who knows.
I weirdly like it 🤣
Lovely video.
Thank you!
Nice bike , love the boots Kate
Cheers!
Great review, great look, great bike, I was however, looking forward to the bow tie spinning!!
🤣🤣🤣
I’d like one of those to ride around the Dallas area and I appreciate you supporting the distinguished gentleman‘s ride… cancer survivor here
Very retro. Lovely bike.
I think so too!
Lovely look’n bike,Triumph must have the largest range of bikes in each category on the market.
Those guys and BMW definitely!
nice cruise bike
I think so too Budi!
Looking very Dapper 🤪Good looking bike, exhaust sounds nice as well.Your picture quality is amazing , are you sure it’s only a go pro 9 😂👍Great blog❤️🙏😎🏍👍🇸🇪
Glad it's clear for you!!
This is real gentlemen model, hello from Bangkok 🙏🏻
Very elegant!
Nice one Kate.....
Thanks Henry!
Another great vlog Kate ride safe lovely greetings from st Helens Merseyside
Thanks! There's only 1 Stevie Lea! 🤟💪
@@UsernameKate aww thank you always a pleasure looking forward to seeing your next vlog maybe wearing your leathers and swanky helmet and dark visor ride safe lovely enjoy the hot weather it's been scorching here in st Helens Merseyside..x
Grate looking bike
Simple and elegant
I like the retro Triumph and BSA, it’s a throw back to my youth. In my youth I had longish hair getting the knots was a pain you must have the same pain.
My hair is usually knotty yes haha 😄
Tres chic chica👍. Lovely bike.
😁😁😁
Thx for the review Kate! As a shorty, this bike is towards the top of my next bike list. I'm looking for a do everything bike that I can use for my daily and potential cross-country trips. My only concern is the service support for Triumph in the US.
Why is it not great in the US? Oh I loved this bike. I can't wait to get it back at some point! 😊
Hope your feeling better and beating the bugs & crud Kate.
Take care and get well fast.
Still terrible! Feeling drunk as a skunk.
@@UsernameKate Better than road kill skunk,
will keep you in prayers.
That's a beautiful machine, but holy moly, 12 grand. Maybe some day.
Looks the part👌
It defo does!
I think it suits you TBH. It is a little beauty - that there's no denying.
WOW !!!
I USED TO SELL TRIUMPH'S
GREAT BRITISH BIKES !!!
Once more a very nice and gentle video of a marvelous cruiser bike. It’s not my cup of tea in terms of preferences in what concerns to this glorious machines on two wheels, just because the body position on this type of bike is too laidback for my taste. Despite the fact that I ride tested a Yamaha TMAX and could enjoy the comfort, but that’s the maximum relaxed position that I can stand riding a bike.
I love that 1200 Triumph engine and my bike of choice from the Bonneville family would be the T120 and of course the Thruxton. They are really good and premium bikes. Ride safe! ✌️✌️
Thanks Brito! Appreciate you stopping by! 😁
Update - I just bought a used 2022 Goldline (best paint option IMO). Fits me perfectly. I'm obsessed with it! 😍
Nice bike, better if bars and pegs off bobber fitted, forward pegs bit uncomfortable
You know she's a northen lass when she doesn't want to kick a gift horse in the mouth. Great review as always.
Well, once again I enjoyed your video Kate... I was glad to hear you support the "D G R", How about a video on that? I ride a Bonneville T100 and love it.
Your wish is my command ✨️ ua-cam.com/video/7my1BKxQepM/v-deo.html
@@UsernameKate Wow... that was such a neat video, you looked great in that suit Kate.
If they put a 1 in front of the BHP it might tempt me. Being honest, i'm looking to downgrade after too many years on litre sportsbikes but thats just too far in the opposite direction. It's not a bad looking bike to swoon around the twisties North of Tyndrum tho.
I have a Speedmaster 2013, only 7,000 on the clock.. maybe in years to come I will upgrade to the 1200..until then I'm sticking with the original
Nice video
Thank you!
Thanks for your comment 😁
Hey Kate, your motorcycle content is great. How 'bout a video of just your singing excerpts? 🙂
I'd break speaker's everywhere haha
Ha Ha looking Dapper :)
Hi Kate. Do you like better the Speedmeister or T120. Also I love where they put the key in the Triumph Speedmeister.
nice ,
I bought a 2019 SM and Love it! Everything about it screams quality. Great light touring and just cruising. BTW, when talking about the dash at 5:28 you referred to speedometer as revs. Tachometer is digital. Speedometer is analog.
I know, I was waiting for someone to mention it. Sometimes autopilot kicks in when you do these enough 🤣 glad you love your SM!
WISH I HAD THOSE MIRRORS ON OTHER BIKES , SCOOTERS
Looking the part I must say. But It is time to give the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 a go, so much fun around the lanes of Leicestershire and Derbyshire.
Oh I'd love to!
You look so posh...I mean would you even nod to me as I passed by!!🤣🤣 , but seriously, nice walk around and a nice bike. Cheers, Steve
I wouldn't nod, I'd give you the queens wave 🤣
EXACTLY SHORT PERSON FRIENDLY- HINT; ADD VARIABLE ADJUSTMENTS ON THE PEGS TO MOVE THEM BACK/FORTH; SEE HOW KAW. VULCAN S DID IT. AT 6' (*180 CM) I'D LIKE THEM OUT A 5 CM MORE.
Are we gonna see you ride it? Or was it just a walk around? Nice vid Kate👍
Only had time to ride it at the DGR. Didn't have it for long and I had a busy schedule that week :(
Okay
@@pollekepmtb I'd love to have it again and spend a day with it!
GREAT RETRO LOOKS; COULD HAVE HAD A FAT; WIDE HI PANNIER SEAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY SIT ON; -- TO BE COMFY. TPMS AND ENGINE TEMPS WOULD BE NICE ON THE DISPLAY.
PLENTY OF POWER; GEARING IS GREAT. LED LIGHTS ! I'D LIKE A REAR RACK TO PLACE A BAG;, IF NEEDED. (AVAILABLE ?)
The classiest of all walkarounds. Or should I say marcharound?
😳😅
Hi Kate, that's a very lovely bike and I enjoyed your "kinked" knee lol. These go very nicely indeed for 77 hp it must have lots of torque. Better than a Harley?? :>)
I havent ridden a harley in that long, I can't remember what it's like!
I think the saying is "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth".
Would have appreciated your thoughts on actually riding it more than just reciting the spec.
Did you film your ride on the DGR? It's an event I hope to participate in next year, although can't promise to be as smartly dressed as you.
Some potential buyers are interested in spec, so in the event I don't have time to film my riding and first impressions, I'm happy to give my audience something rather than nothing. Even if it doesn't particularly suit everyone. I can't please you all else I'd die early trying 🤣 but I did film my DGR experience ua-cam.com/video/7my1BKxQepM/v-deo.html - hopefully you enjoy it.
Jajaja 🤣😃 ok Kate
🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
I say it because of your suit 😃
Those boots had me at “Hello” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wish they made this about 30% bigger with front fairing and matching hard bags. Triumph needs a full time, full size cruiser especially for the North American market.
Is it like the bobber version where its to small for a normal sized person.
As the owner of a Thunderbird 1600 I agree. Updated with hard locking panniers, a narrower rear tire and a better suspension from the factory. I fitted Hagon rear shocks on mine and they transformed the handling, much improved.
@@gwynnromano5881 did you watch rocket man he changed the rear shocks on his speed twin 1200 the stock units are garbage.
@@chrishart8548 Yes I did. I think many manufacturers opt for the base suspension except for their premium models in order to position their mainstream models at a competitive price point. Understandably so. What I fail to grasp is how so many buyers can shell out their dollars for a so called premium product and then have to spend more to upgrade the suspension and engine in order to make their machine what it should have been when it rolled off the showroom floor. I’m not speaking of Triumph either. We all know the elephant in the room. Sadly some manufacturers seek to emulate that strategy. Frankly, I’d rather spend a few more dollars up front and have competent machine that I can take pride in.
Is there a gear indicator ?
Hi Kate are you aware there is a record attempt happening on the 24 th in Uk at Triumph factory I believe to beat the record of 618 females at a meeting.Think they have a raffle etc.Thought this would be a good blog for you to do as it’s all about girlies 🤪❤️🙏🇸🇪👍
I'd love to but I'm not that hopeful I'll be fit enough to ride :(
Hope your get well soon , Best wishes to you from Sweden 🇸🇪 ❤️🙏
It's a cruiser, so it's tuned for torque not max horsepower, and it's torque is plentiful enough to get you in trouble.
Yea its a great ride!
Hey Kate, did you try cruise control on Speedmaster? You didn't say anything about it, please try and share your experience riding in top speed, highways etc. Also please can you compare this bike with Speed Twin & Bonn T120, all have same engine cc but different structures.... Thank you ❤️.
Hey! I didn't try the cruise control, I didn't have the bike for long. It wasn't too bad at motorway speeds and I haven't ridden the other triumphs you mentioned I'm afraid! I would like to though at some point 😁
@@UsernameKate thank you for your reply. How did you find the Torque and instant pull power and ride quality if you compare with BMW RnineT, I heard you worked in BMW showroom from previous videos, so just assume you have ridden that before...
Can’t kick a gift horse in the mouth? Don’t know about that one 😆 How about-You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him swim? Is that a real saying? 😆😆 Great video, thanks!
🤣🤣 who knows, the sayings game is a difficult one to navigate lol
old man has the Speedmaster in black and cream, had the gearing lowered by one tooth on the front as its too long as stock.
Does he like it?
@@UsernameKate He loves it, ideal compromise between his old Yamaha XVS1300a and XJR1300, a fast sporty cruiser.
Are you trying to be matt Smith's Doctor Who. Bow ties are cool after all. Have you seen the episode when he rides a triumph street scrambler up the site of a building?
Hahaha I don't watch it so that's wasted on me 🤣🤣
@@UsernameKate you should watch it maybe just the 11th doctor. Could you watch it just for me I know you don't have much spare time now.
I cant promise I'll be able to watch it but a quick Google search helped me to understand the reference 🤣🤣
A dream girl on a dream bike... What's not to like?
You are too kind!
Hey dream girl ❤️
I ever see your and onher bike
I’ve never seen anyone kick a horse in the mouth, though I now wonder how that one would pan out 😂
I mean, I think its pretty solid advice 🤣
BATTERY IS DOWN IN THAT BLACK PLASTIC BOX; I PRESUME. ?
I had to stop the video at 15 seconds in to push the thumbs up button. What a posh entree. Okay let’s move on.
You're the best haha
Why can I just not stop at: nice vid Kate. Maybe next time.
Stop it …you make me blush…bloody hell where is that emoji…💀👺🤡🤣🤪don t mind me, have a nice Sunday evening.
Now hold on a bloody minute lads. It's a mans world right ? Right. So here we have a woman, yes a woman talking about bikes to us men, not handbags or shoes, but bikes. Can you believe it ?
Well let me tell you woman, UNK, you're doing a fantastic job. I don't know of a man who could do it better.
Keep up the good work lass ! 🤣😜😊
Haha cheers Vernon 👍🏻
Kick a given horse in the teeth. Hilarious! Especially when imagining you doing that in that outfit! 😂😂😂😂
Ok do you know you look like a Lady Penelope and the Pit stops at a Wacky Races
Haha it's the white goggles 🤣
This bike looks awesome in pictures and seriously considered getting one myself but... i agree with her when she said it was tiny for a 1200cc, i mean i can understand why japanese bikes are small being built for little people but for triumph to make tiny bikes for the european market is just weird! Even the 2019 generation of triumph rocket 3's look like a toy compared to the old gen ones. Tiny bikes with big engines SUCK!
Look a gift horse...no need for kicking 🙂
Owe you an apology Kate. It is SOHC. Nice bike but, I'll be keeping my T. Bird.
No apology necessary, I like to be kept on my toes every now and again 🤣😬
I would take off that buddy seat and clean up the rear end.
Oooh nice
Nice but not really you. Great video but get your money back on the singing lessons. Lol. Still looking for v100 Mondello walkabout.
Machined things LOL
Machined engine fins... what is funny? 🥲😅
Sorry Kate, was not making fun of you, just the way you paused when you said it like you werent sure what to call it@@UsernameKate
haha sorry - thought you were calling out my description lol
SIT ON THE PILLION SEAT AND SEE HOW COMFY; ITS NOT
