I discovered Ricky a few years ago because of the Golden Globes. Since watching his material following that, I realized his depth of character, his humor and his darkness. He doesn't recoil from life's tumultuous trials and sorrows. He presses onward. I feel now he is the epitome of what it means to be a human being.
This in my humble opinion ,is one of the best written pieces of drama ever done for the screen.its funny, sad and pathos all in one show.love the interaction between Anne and Ricky.💕
You Bastard Ricky!, laughter, tears and insightfulness. Brilliantly written and acted by all. I believe everyone watching this will have had something to take away from it. Well done!.
As I read the posts on here by some it has occurred to me that these people have not the experienced the losing of their "soul mate" of many years and have no real clue as to what that does to the one left behind. This is by far the most accurate description as one can put it. Although, for some of us it is far far worse in some situations. I would hope that this would help others see as to what is now our life alone and why we do what we do and what we may need from others.
Do diners in the UK actually serve fish fingers and beans together as a meal? As in frozen fish fingers and tinned beans? I’m from the east coast of Canada and we’re very connected to our UK (and Irish) roots but I can’t understand why anyone would eat tinned beans if there were other options, let alone order it in a restaurant. No offence, my parents were born on an island that was actually British at the time (before it entered Confederation with Canada) so I consider myself closer in culture to Britain than the rest of Canada. ❤️❤️❤️
Ricky "says" he doesn't believe in "God" or "A God" but his actions say otherwise. Do not trust what a man says. Trust how he acts. Ricky seems to act as if God exists so by definition he "knows" there is something Devine that we can't explain but can feel...
That's the premise of the show How can you not believe in God feel hopeless and still find hope and be a kind person. Literally the whole point of the show.
Amazing how he can go from funny to dark... amazing actor
Amazing writing too,
I'm a Christian and this show is wonderful! Good job man, thank you
Superb stuff, written by a bloke who really has his finger, on the pulse.

I believe I can see how much Ricky loves his partner through his work. It filters through. She's a lucky girl
Gotta LOVE Ricky!!!!
Wonderful. The casting was perfect. The lady on the bench reminds me of my Mother and kills me every time she has a scene.
Penelope Wilton x class act.
One of the best shows ever!!
good people do things for other people, that's it!
this is a genius, subtle comedy - I recommend! Ricky G. is wonderful
The best series I've ever watched and watched and watched again. The casting was superb, how did he know A genius
I wish this had a “loved” button and not just a “like”!
You know as you don't believe in gods of other religions similarly I don't believe in yours....
Golden line.

It’s amazing to see genuinely funny and moving stories ... that haven’t been ‘focus group’ tested for the latest ‘woke messaging’.
Oh give it a rest - searching for something to roll out your buzzwords to tell everyone how edgy you are.
Great series.
... I was gonna watch this as recap, now I'm gonna watch S1 again. So wholesome.
Thank you man i was looking for this
So true wnen he says all we have is each other
Nice collection of clips. The beach scene with Brandy gets to me.
We need to remember what he is telling us about life during this time of covide
the cafe scene is the best thing ever XD
The man's a genius.

Not a great fan of Ricky by any means but.....he's spot on in some of his observations.
My wife died of breast cancer nearly 12 years ago.
"That's it" THE END!
You should be allowed to order from the children's menu . Business is business,a sale is a Sale. It's still makes money.
Can't watch this show - my wife is his wife, a few years before.
I know...
Better books than me
I believe in god because we have dogs. A good dog like a golden retriever is a loving creature that can instantly improve your day.

This is a real show? Where do we watch it?
its in netflix, and any other "resources" you could think of.
Which one. Lmao
Can I buy the t shirt he wore in every scene?
nice 👃 👊
Except for the God thing, this was great stuff, especially the truth bombs at the end.
Sorry to say, the God thing was the biggest truth bomb in there.
Everyone is an atheist, some of us are just more committed to it than others
Gervais is a deep thinker. You don’t get to pick’n’mix the truth bombs.
@@LeoDragon34 no, he’s not.
@@CrashJC123 Wow, what a retort. That all you could come up with?
Is Ricky Gervais an atheist?
Yes he is.
Yes
I am too

Really? Where did you pick that up from the series? Ah, yes, your delusion. The religious folk really do suffer from a mental illness.
Find this quite depressing to be honest.
Well it is a drama
If you're under 30 you're unlikely to relate much.
I can relate and it's still depressing
Sometimes the reality of life can be depressing - just have to find acceptance and enjoy each day.
This is the thing I hated most in an otherwise brilliant series: that Gervais just had to go on again and again about his atheism. Yawn!
There is no God mate
@@StormFalcon61 who knows?
Makes a nice change from people going on about their f*cking religion
Did it ever occur to you that this gives a certain helpful perpetual those of us that are atheist? What a fatuous remark
