@@Vifercel first dragons dogma wasn't fully finished in the way the director visioned it to be due to limitations of older consoles. DD2 is basically what DD1 could have been.
@@DanteVerde-pt9zc capcom definitely pessimistic about this game. Beside the smaller team remember the advertising? They barely do any advertising until the very end when the hype is up and they were like "oh dang people want this game??". Even with that small team they still manage to do a lot of things efficiently, they start in 2019 after DmC V is done and at the start of covid lockdown too Let's just see what the future hold, for now the glimmer of hope i have left is that this is the fastest game they put out the survey so far

Can’t believe we all expected itsuno to finally realize his full vision with dd2 and it just ended up being a DD1 reboot with all the same problems the original had
They did this in DD1 also. Capcom has become such pricks. Remember when they took over MH Rise Devs? Forced MHW devs to change Head devs vision for it. Thats why some mechanics/apex were abandoned in Sunbreak.
How do we know that that's not his full vision, though? Don't get me wrong, I dislike Capcom quite a lot (especially after the paid micros fiasco) but has he spoken about stuff that wasn't present in the game or are we just blaming Capcom for everything wrong about the game now?
totaly agreed. I want to play it again but now i know i wont have any challenge in dificulty until the endgame with no new things until then. so i prefer to play dd1 for the first time
Play it with no pawns, that’s what I’m doing and having a blast! Feels hard. Am bummed there’s no Everfall/Bitterblack type endgame though. Enjoyed how I could never quite tell what horror would show up next.
there are also not really any interesting enemy locations. there is one somewhat big bandit village, but they are so spread out, it doesnt matter. in 1 there were 2 or 3 fortresses filled to the brim with bandits with which you could choose to fight, and the saurians were way more impactful in 1. in 2 they are also nearly everywhere
When I finished Elden Ring, I had that feeling that I wish there was more. Same with NieR Automata, only with that game, it's the realization I couldn't experience it again for the first time.
Maybe it's cause I had a decade+ of souls games leading up to it but I definitely don't understand that. When I finished elden ring, I was sad, but I certainly didn't want more. After nearly 500 hours of exploring every corner of that map, I was done, done.
@Mecht Elden Ring did feel like a completely new experience that you could never have again. I agree that for that one, especially with the horrible final boss, I was just about done.
"I love combat, I only care about combat, combat is king, only combat matters in a game" And then he proceeds to not understand 90% of the combat mechanics, smashes his head against the wall until the enemy dies, finds a cheese strat and repeats it until he wins the game, without ever learning anything about the combat. Why is he like this?
@@acev3521 na DD2 is way over hyped. Elden Ring has nothing to do in the conversation. It's a great from soft game that does what it does best. DD2 combat isn't that great or polished compared to other capcom IPs like MH, DMC and Street Fighter in their latest entries. DD2 much like DD1 was just over hyped by their fanbase who like unfinished and unpolished games. Capcom or development just dropped the ball. It's ok to cope but not this hard.
@@acev3521 I think you have some kinda bias towards from soft. I just ridden ring had nothing to do with DD2 being bad but you getting defensive without even playing it. Some people are lost
I put over 2600 combined hours between Xbox360, Ps4, and Steam on Dragons Dogma 1. My main gripe with DD2 is removing the high amount of customization we had with gear. I know a lot of people didn't like dealing with pants, gloves, and shirts, but what we got was not a good replacement. Also removing vocations from the first game and not at least giving their spells to another vocation was upsetting coming from someone who adored Mystic Knight, and loved using Abyssal Anguish and Great Cannon. My experience so far with DD2 (200 hours) is its a phenomenal game but imo was a step down from DD1. I could go further into it but I've already written a small essay.
I felt base DD2 was better than base DD1, but I feel Dark Arisen is better than Base DD2. It lands somewhere comfortably in the middle of what DD1 was, and what DD1 has become. I look forward to DD2's dark arisen equivalent or whatever they plan to do.
@@knowwhoiamyet yes and I would love them putting multiple dlcs into the game. Still a very good game that I plan on playing a lot, but here's to hoping there's much more to come with the DLC.
100% agree. I love DD2 but Dark Arisen feels much better. Like if you compare them I think DA does everything better minus straight up combat. We need crazy hard fights. Like the first Condemned Titan (first boss I think?) in Dark Arisen was vastly harder than anything in DD2.
In DD1 was their actually build options with gear? To me the gear system was the worst thing about the game. That really would of tied the whole thing together. Like having different builds with each vocation. Instead it was more similar to older JRPGS where the gear is just upgrades.
Pawn development in DD1 was so much better than DD2... it has been simplified, and I don't feel it was a positive move. I could train pawns to almost god level (particularly Striders and Fighters in DD1/DDDA). Edit: Have to agree with you, DD1 was my favourite of the 2 games.
I'm at just over 100 hours in DD2 and my biggest complaints are the pawns falling off edges and also the amount of monsters you encounter especially in Battahl. I shouldn't have to fight a griffin every single time I'm leaving Bak'battahl because the game spawns one to circle the small area every single day and it hones in on you inevitably. Good luck taking the lift stations if it's alive btw. Also the path from the city to the oracle isn't that far but takes me a full in-game day if I fight everything that ambushes me. I've done it 3 times now and each time I consistently fight the griffin from earlier, an ogre and a golem, at least 3 packs of hobgoblins, 3-4 wolf packs, and 2-3 bandit packs not to mention almost constant harpies. It becomes annoying. Idk if this problem is just me or if others feels the same but I hope someone at least makes a mod that tries to turn it down.
Have to use Wait command, they act upon where you go. If i decide to walk a narrow path like a bridge that can endanger i use Wait and Come Here to teleport them safely like im a Duck with ducklings.
Never fought this griffin. I always wait a few seconds so the griffin lands under the broken bridge to fight the knackers and I only use the lift when the griffin passed the lift in his route. This is clearly a you problem
@@deustauries Yeah I love the game immensely and understand that I've put far too many hours into the game compared to a regular player so my experience is different. I hope some people can relate.
@@redcronojm I do that as well now but it still happens when they're off screen usually in Battahl. Sometimes they get stuck in caves and when I leave I see them teleport out towards me and then die whereever they tele'd to.
Whats sad about DD2 is just that its just outside of greatness, it needed abit more of everything. Abit more skills, abit more enemy varity both boss and mobs, hard difficulty even its just ng+ scaling just abit more of everything would seal the deal for goty.
Before release i thought this game will set a parameter along with bg3 and er. But corporate greed and performance. And lots of things made this game a decent game
Legendary Drops, the channel, said that apparently this is the game with the least amount of devs in the credits from the last Capcom games, that says a lot if that is the case
Apparently like 350 or so people credited with working on it. While other capcom games like street fight and resident evil have over 1000 credited. sometimes 1500+. So yeah, unfortunately, but understandably, capcom didnt invest as much into dragons dogma then in addition to that likely rushed out it the door for a boost in profits for the fiscal year. Which still doesnt excuse some basic mistakes like not having a new game option at launch or no hardmode/NG+ scaling.
@@anon2752Capcom fucked over dragons dogma 2 just like they did the first We are left with a great game that isn’t fully realized to its true potential
@@ChiefThanos I feel like you're giving too much credit to starfield hahaha. I thought there was alot to do in the world, not much enemy variety. Again totally get this game isn't for everyone. But I thought it was good.
the story isnt good, but "hate" or "terrible". nah. if want to get more conclusion or explanation you have to do the sidequests, those are almost all a part of the main story. for example wilhelmina, in the main story the player sees her twice and then never again. just a random girl wil intro who helps the hero and then nothing, dfuck? ye, in her side quests they explain who she is and why she was helping. doesnt save the story but makes it more digestible.
the story absolutely CRUMBLED at the end its actually hilarious. the whole story in general was just whatever, but besides that everything else the game offered was pretty much what i expected having played the original. the game was not finished and its kinda obvious. heres to hoping they add a BBI type of DLC and make up for it.
I enjoyed DD2. It's not GOTY material, it has its flaws, it's weak in some areas... But it's fun. It feels pretty great to play, I enjoyed the combat, I enjoyed my progression, and for the most part I enjoyed the world. The lategame areas felt a bit undercooked, and the lack of an Ur Dragon or equivalent in the endgame definitely hurts it for me, but it was still enjoyable. Looking forward to this game's Dark Arisen equivalent. I didn't need DD2 to be the best game. I just needed it to be one I enjoyed my time with. I'm content with it.
sounds like a 10 dollar game. Might consider it if the game becomes priced accordingly with what it offers. Not like there is not enough other competition on the market for 10 times less.
Asmongold best take ever, the vocations in the first game would destroy the new ones sorcerer had so much spells removed and 4 slots feels terrible so I have no choice to be magic archer instead of my main.
That's definitely a you problem. Outside of trickster which doesnt do damage on its own, all the vocations are actually stronger in dd2. And sorcerer/ mage are the only vocations in the original game that actually benefited from having 2 skill bars. The rose tinteds ive seen from people in regard to this is rivaling gen wunners
@@RaineAshe What? Magic archer lost all its amazing magic dagger skills and the raining arrows skill of strider wasn't given to archer. Less skills = no real customization for your personal playstyle. Dragons dogma 1 is my favorite game of all time, as much as I love this one it's not as good as the first one. Sorcerer lost 14 powerful spells from the original it's not rose tinted.
@LovesLeonSKennedy you mean the magic dagger skills that it shouldnt have had anyay because its a magic ARCHER? And what customization? 2/3 of the vocations were absolutely useless aside from grabbing their augments and the "secondary weapons" for all of them were half baked at best. Ive played the original to death and love it for what it is. But you VERY much are looking at it with ultra thick rose tinteds
2/3 of vocations only one people complained about was mage. If you like having less skills fine, but magic dagger skills were super fun and majority loved it. They spent more years developing dd1 that's why this reboot has story and combat feeling undercooked. But we already know the dragon princess dlc and mention of adding more dlc vocations will add skills we had in the original.
Also they removed mage and sorcerer having the ability to manually aim spells, you have to use the janky camera auto target. No one's has rose tinted goggles for better combat mechanics.
I think something not really brought up is the world exploration feels WAY better. DD1 the area around gran soren was kinda nice to explore but exploring the north western and outlying areas felt really wierd as opposed to the areas of DD2 really feeling like an actual adventure
there’s a lot of background context to this you can read about online but basically Japan just couldn’t develop open world games, they were not good at it or had the tech/talent to do it. Dragons Dogma 1 was actually massive for japanese players because it was their game to prove they could do open world. There were online campaigns at the time to support it in japan. Western devs were doing them for a very very long time and had it locked down by Skyrims release.
PREACH brother, the western region SUCK so much unless you plan the trip out there. barely anything out there but in DD2, it was fun exploring with actual places to visit
This exactly. There are tons of paths I've seen and just walked past because I didn't have time to fully explore them. I've seen a lot of morons whining about a lack of "rewards" for exploring alternate paths but for me the exploration is its own reward, so eventually I'll go back and check every path I can find.
@lordhughmungus I'm on my second NG+ and haven't even come across the Sphinx on my own yet, haven't looked up her location just want to discover it. I've seen so many hidden trails that lead to cool locations though.
@@judahofjudea4601 Thats really interesting, I'm still on ng, but I founf the Sphinx really early in my PT luckily at about level 30. I'm not going to spoil obviously, but you've most likely gone past her a few times already :)
The pawn A.I. in DD1 is actually more complicated than in DD2, they simplified and dumbed it down. You could "fine-tune" your pawn to your liking, with the caveat that the inclination was changing all the time and you had to "re-adjust" it from time to time. (But you don't get anything explained how it works until you have to research it because you had run into a problem). And funny enough i get frustrated with my pawns in DD2 at times because their A.I. feels so unflexible. Why do I have to pick up all the stuff only because their Character doesn't specify it for them? Stuff like that. I kind of agree that the music is so much less memorable than in the first game, it's kind of sad. I had so many memorable moments in DD2 but I can't remember the music playing at those moment. :( It's also a shift of tone, DD2 being a more "serious" fantasy world while DD1 leanend more into Berserk fantasy world. I still miss "Into Free ~ Dangan". The story is...simple. Nothing I hadn't read before somewhere. It's sad but i kind of expected that. I feel like there are a lot of missed opportunities filling out the quests, like the nameless village for examples had a lot of potential. Maybe I just had a different vision of the game than the creators, but that's fine. The main focus is on the combat and creating your own story and that works fine. Getting gangb* by a minotaur, a griffin, some harpies and some wolves? Can only happen in this game. Now go Arisen and listen to "Into Free-Dangan" to understand this madness!
on point, honestly I feel like DD2's biggest improvement since the first one is only visuals and animations, everything else was dumbed down there's some cool new additions like camping and core skills but that's about it
im glad im not the only one who noticed the shift in tone. it became more like a high fantasy, lord of the rings tone which fucking sucks (my opinion) its also because added elves and beastrens. DD1 with the berserk feel with realistic medieval dark fantasy tone and vibe was so much better where everyone was human and they should've just stuck with that. im so tired of having different race of humanoids in games. i just want pure, classic, raw humans who wield swords and realistic medieval armors FFS. i also hate how you cant make lolis anymore, they took that away. in DD1 you can have a cute loli pawn whos like 3 feet tall wearing panties and rocking a greatsword. that was one of the best things about the game. all in all, DD2 is a downgrade in my book for sure.
It needs all of the features that were added in Dark Arisen. - All Arisen and Pawns de-leveled to 100 with 200 or 250 being the new cap. - Speedrun mode: Portcrystals stay in place on NG+. Starting A Speedrun creates a save state that upon completing, nothing is lost or gained in the actual save file. Beating the true ending of the game in under an hour gets you an Eternal Ferrystone. - UR-Dragon returns! Immune to the insta-kill arrow and grows stronger everytime it's slain. - Some sort of Bitterblack Isle type end game.
aint no way. i couldnt STAND that song. it was so bad. i was sick of hearing her hit that high note by the time you go through the double title screen and load your save. its painful and piercing. worst song in gaming and not even close. i even sent a recording of it to my friends as a meme and everyone one to a man, was like, wtf is with that song!?? 😂😂
I think people should absolutely play dragon's dogma 1, the Dark arisen expansion is the best part of dragon's dogma imo. I just love how dark, oppressive and generally hard it was and i played it on hard mode too so it was a memorable experience. I really want to know why DD2 didn't have better overworld dungeons like the temple in DD1, no cool large scale dungeons. The dragon fight was also worse imo, i think its a downgrade from gregori. Why was the hydra and cockatrice left out? There are fewer skills than you had in DD1(y no mystic knight). The armor system is a downgrade imo and hampers fashion. The story of DD1 was a bit rough but dd2 doesn't tell it better. All and all, DD2 feels like a missed opportunity like dd1 was. They were so close to making the perfect game but.. they didn't sadly. I'd be annoyed if they saved it all for a future expansion or dlc but i do hope they somehow address the issues.
I never played the first one but "They were so close to making the perfect game but.. they didn't sadly" permeates the entire game. It feels like somewhere is a perfect game but it missed the mark a tiny bit in a lot of aspects that added up to a game that feels a bit off
@@DWlsh43 yep. Oh well. I have consigned myself to moving on. The only hope left is that they are able to pull off with the DLC like what they did with dark arisen in the first one.
The progression, the story, the immersion into a living breathing world, the enemy variety, the soundtrack variety, are all abysmal. But the game is really damn fun. I’m enjoying my time in it.
About Pawns "AI in DD1 is way simpler" the complete opposite actually. The Pawns in DD1 LEARNED how to fight by watching how you played. That's why, if you wanted your main Pawn to be a support Mage, you had to play as a Mage and teach them what to do, prioritize buffing and healing the party, stay away from danger, etc. After a while, the Pawn would pick up on it and start doing that. If you had a Mage but never taught them how to be a Mage and you were, let's say, a Melee class and climbed on monsters a lot, they would do that too. The Pawns kept learning and learning until by the end they played almost exactly like you. My Pawn was a Strider, by hour 90 or so they could solo bosses and did the same starts I used. Pawns in DD2 DO NOT LEARN anymore how to fight. They learn place of interest on the map (Caves, chests, tokens, crafting materials) and Quest objectives (where to go, what NPC to talk to). But the way they fight is set in stone by their Personality and Specialization. I can confirm that with confidence as I made my Pawn a mage, played as a Mage myself for most of my playthrough (70 hours) as I thought the system was going to be the same, teach your pawn. From hour 1 to hour 70 they were playing exactly the same. If I gave them two buff skills, they would rotate through them or use the wrong one, like for example, using fire against cyclops when lightning is their weakness. That never happed in DD1 once they learned the enemy weakness. Both DD1 and DD2 also have the same issue of Pawns suddenly becoming dumb and just standing there doing nothing or starting to cast something then canceling for no reason every now and then. All in all, to me, the AI and the way Pawns worked ins a huge downgrade in DD2 compared to DD1 and something I was not expecting given it's been 12 years since then. But then again, no other game has come even close to how good the AI was in FEAR and that one is 20 years old, so hey, AI becoming worse as time passes is a given for some reason i guess.
They still do. Like for example untrained warrior pawn in DD1 will use Arc of Obliteration every time, but you can train them to use it when enemy is down or debilitated like sleep. In DD2 my warrior pawn learned the mighty swing combo after days travelling with me doing that, instead of spamming random skill. She also used Revivify when debilitated and it has never happened before. They really want our pawn to focus on a single vocation to master it. It may be downgraded but not huge, you can still train pawn. Fighter pawn in DD1 will auto perfect parry everything but not in DD2, and i think its a good thing.
@@1621lionheart I think it's a very big step down. Learning enemy weaknesses for every enemy you could encounter in DD1 was great. It felt impactful. DD2 they sort of learn? But you can't really tell. They'll still fly up with a dragon and get smashed into the ground and i'm 90 hours in. The only difference is they're geared with top gear so they're not getting 1 shot.
Here is why I was not having fun with Dragon's Dogma II: My pawns can't seem to traverse... anything. There are broken bridges all over the world and you can very easily make the jump. 1 of your 3 pawns usually falls in. You lose them AND their inventory. This happened to me well over 10 times within a single play session. It lead to situations where I got curious what might be over there, proceed to realize I have stuff on my pawns, and be discouraged from checking it out because I'm conditioned to think I'll lose my stuff. I felt so discouraged from exploring, I literally just quit from boredom, because it is all the game has to offer that is remotely interesting. On top of this, the combat is not engaging to me at all and after a few hours the big monsters showing up stopped feeling like a crazy moment and more like clockwork happening in the background to force it to happen. I can see the potential of DD2, but I really don't think there is anything actually special in it.
I did enjoy DD2 a lot, but yeah, I still enjoyed DD1 more. Not sure I entirely agree that the combat is 2 is better. It's good, and it's a good permutation, but I do not think it became a better general combat experience. Separate to that, the story also took a MAJOR hit in quality. NG+ is weaker. The world map, while ostensibly larger, does not have as much space to navigate.
There is a souls game that kind of did this, maybe replay or look at dark souls 1 references in dark souls 3, it's story and locations are almost a perfect sequel. The endless continuation of 🔥
Knowing Capcom they normally released half-baked game so people will buy expansion dlc. Like MHW is good because of the Iceborne not the actual base itself.
The combat is way better in DD2. With the maister skills, warfarer vocation, there is just so much you can do and have fun with. Exploration is way more fun in DD2 as well, there are way more towns to visit, Sphinx riddles, etc, so many cool surprises. Only main quest story was better in DD1, that's it. DD1 is a 9/10 and DD2 is a 9.5
Yeah, I wanted to do more in the Unmoored World, and I deff wanted to do more in the world that wasn’t side quests. NG+ isn’t as fun. I feel OP and bored haha. I’m going to max out my vocations, and save Warfarer for last as my sweet treat.
This game doesn't have wolves hunt in packs, but it has it's share of memorable lines too. "We must rest! (tone switches) "Even though the sun is still up." Or, "I notice we pawns are all men." Another answers; "It's just a coincidence, don't overthink it." But- yeah.
As someone who has 1002 hours on the first game, this game is absolutely amazing for me as well. Can't stop playing. And when I do, I'm thinking about it.
It’s super fun, just wish there was more. Favorite moment hands down was getting ambushed by a Garm at night and it hunting me like half the map until I finally lost it. I think I’d be safe for like 30 seconds then I’d see the red eyes getting closer and closer. Actually had me jumping and freaking out despite me knowing it’s hunting me.
I agree DD1 was a better game. Don't get me wrong I love DD2 and I waited years for a sequel but it's missing what made DD1 so good and I know a big factor of that was due to Dark Arisen. DD1 is lacking big time on monster variety which is a problem it shouldn't be having right now, combat still feels satisfying and fun just like DD1 did but that's what we play these games for not it's story but for the combat, exploration and facing off against different monsters varying from greek mythology and D&D. Dude there's a freaking beholder in DD1 where was that? It does feel like it's missing things here and hopefully we get a massive expansion that improves the game because I want more for this game it's that fun even among all the performance issues and horrible side quest I was having a blast.
honestly the reason why i find dd1 more fun to play is how cool the overall conclusion of the story is and how NG+ Works sure people can argue dd1 story is bad (which it is) but it's far and above better and more cinematic then dd2 i also felt that yes the combat in dd2 is "better" the skills in dd1 felt more fun to use and magic was also wayyyyy cooler overall i think dd2 and dd1 are both great games but i do feel dd2 could of been more considering the 12 year wait period.
I do feel like an issue that DD2 has in terms of storylines is that they tried to brush through a lot of material that DD1 covered, and then made adjustments that admittedly were needed to keep the story fresh and original, but also just don't feel as strong as the DD1 game.
Just finished my first playthrough, completed as much as I could and i think this game is just above average... combat was incredible. Pawn system is cool, rest complete average.
Same. It was all about the combat and world exploration. None of the quests were compelling. Travel back and forth was used extensively to pad play time in quests
@@blackyvertigo Yeah dont get me wrong, I had a great time during my playthrough, I didnt give it enough credit in my comment. Combat and exploration are my two biggest things I enjoy. If only this was more up to cratch with everything else to what we expect from games in 2024.
The story was way too short and kinda just jumped the shark. The entire time in Vernworth felt like it was leading up to something and then Disa is just never mentioned again after the coronation. The false arisen is shown in 2 cutscenes and if you showed me a picture of him, I wouldn't be able to recognise him. The bad guy that summons the false dragon is just some unnamed baddy that has no involvement until the end. It honestly just felt like a unplanned mess of a story and was by far the weakest aspect of the game.
@@paintl3gz lmao this! 😂 Don't get me wrong, I still love this game regardless of it's short comings, but you hit the nail on the head. Right when you get to the coronation, I was expecting something big to happen after uncovering the false arisen. And I felt like I barely made any progress at that point. Boom! You're done with the first arc of the game and don't see the false arisen again until near the end. Threw me off.
Im FINALLY getting to get to play through Dragons Dogma 2, so far im ABOUT 25-30 hours into the game and i am trying to explore the entire map BEFORE starting the final section of the game and i currently hit level 44 on my character. And Dragons Dogma 2 has got me feeling the exact same way i felt when i played a little game called "Astral Chain". Its a Platinum games game, so you KNOW its awesome. Astral Chain is another game that i WISH MORE PEOPLE talked about. The story is pretty good, but its the gameplay, combat and world that REALLY make it great. It's just one of those games that made me WISH there were more even after countless hours playing it.

Bro, I waited so long for DD2 ever since I finished DDDA, I expected more of a MH3U -> MHWorld but instead I got DD1.5 with ox carts and 4 skill slots instead of 6 and an ocean sink hole... which runs at the same fps as MH4U on my 3ds with a 3k rig...
Haven't played 2 but I played Dragon's Dogma 1 and it's the most "meh" game ever. Combat is decent but has some serious flaws. Story and quests are mostly bad / generic. The epitome of a 5/10 game to me
@@4CrazyMexicans Def agree with this, the game got 10 times better after I killed mini drag with balista, unlocked mystic spearhand with some OP items and abilities and just went on a combat spree exploring the open world fighting gryphons, ogres, a billion goblins and more
Same. Everyone says exploring is the bets part, but I felt no desire to just wander around aimlessly through a mostly uninteresting map. Aside from curiosity, I had no reason to go anywhere other than the road between vernworth and bakbattal.
This game is the definition of 6.5. A good balance and performance patch would take it to a solid 7. An expansion will take it up to 9, but at that point it’s $100-120.
They would have to make the gameplay more fun to make it ever be a 9. Its a one button mash type of game. Sure it feels cool and good for a few hours but it's not strategic or thoughtful like Elden Ring, or even Lies of P
Honestly people praising the game for its combat is like some massive gaslighting or something. This game's combat is one of the most basic ive seen, and in not in a good way. Especially with all the games with great combat that have come out in recent years its pretty absurd to praise this game for the combat.
i think DD2 suffers from not having a real hardmode, my ng+ was literally just running everything over with 0 challenge which made it a bit bland, i still really enjoyed exploring like 95% of the map and what it had to offer
My only complaint is that this game has TOO many and I mean TOO many slipper slopes it's ridiculous. Even some surfaces that do not look smooth at all.
It doesn't really help with making the combat feel responsive when you're trying to make inputs and your character is constantly being interrupted by the smallest changes in terrain. Not to mention the huge recovery times for getting knocked down or staggered.
The more I hear about this game, the more I am convinced that it is an absolutely terrible sequel. They had these great ideas, a new world, a new story and a completely new take of Fantasy RPG's in Dragons Dogma 1. I expect that they take what worked and build the rest of the game around that in a sequal, tell a new story in that world and refine the good parts. What they did is, tell almost the same fucking story, made the good parts slightly better taking the technology of the time into account, focused on things that no one wanted and did not work out in the end, guttet the performance of the game that it is unplayable for some and did not expand the world and monsters. If you played Dragons Dogma 1, the only thing this game gives you is a more refined combat and pawn system with improved graphics. For me that is a big patch or an expansion. On top of that, the terrible performance. If you look at the game in a vacuum, it is a great game with a new take on Fantasy RPG. If you look at it incrementally, it is hard to even call it an improvement with the performance. They fucked it up.
Charles Mitchell Watching the ability to like climb these giant monsters trees environments really has made me wonder what it's like to explore an ancient forest back in Dinosaur dayS? A rainforest filled of glowing creatures that no longer exist or even a planet where they do exist. There is this one iconic moment in my gaming history where I'm playing Tomb Raider and I meet that T Rex coming at me and I shoot it with pistols. Those graphics aren't these graphics and these graphics with like death scenes of being swallowed by these creatures that are invented... The idea of hiding masking smells using concoctions of fire and smoke and wearing camouflage for the environments. The way the games look right now I would imagine that no game would be better than playing something like hide and seek with dinosaurs certainly more entertaining than just zombies. The idea of like The Flintstones being able to ride dinosaurs fight with dinosaurs is also something that is really interesting in my head right now. Being able to go around that environment scale its world in a caveman like experience where you create tools or you meet creators of tools from stone weapons and animal/dino furs etc. If it was like a survival game without weapons I think it would sell less but probably be more fun? Dodging running hiding etc. When we watch Jurassic Park they never really fight and win they run hide seek shelter food etc. Befriending is always cool? Watching dino vs dino fights with blood? 1w Reply Charles Mitchell Dragons Dogma 2 really misses the Mark with having to run and hide from the monster in the world. Using other monsters as bait creating bad environments for monsters to fight just you in vs being hurt or at a weakened state due to it being lured into areas where the monster has to fight more than just you. It looks at times like you should set up environments to lure monsters into but the truth is it doesn't really work like that. There is no duck system no hide in a cave throw items in the cave at the monster at the doorway attempting to eat you fly at you etc. That doesn't make it a bad game by any means but it doesn't create the terrain building fight. Terrain building fights don't enable you to just go one on one with the monster or your team set up in standing around it. Early on if you do run it's just to avoid battle it's not to lure the monster into areas where the monster will have to fight other monsters or will fly into traps that you've created whether it is nets or it's some type of party system where everyone is doing something tactically to hurt the creatures. Everything is killing the creatures there is no trapping whatsoever. I think that's a fail including creating mounts. You never look for a cave to duck into you never look for a small hole or a way to hide within the branches of a tree or to cloak yourself in mud to avoid detection. It never feels horrorish. 31m Reply Charles Mitchell You have abilities that use cloaks and smoke bombs but you never have to hide under something. You never have to tie up a rope to a tree to trip the monster to lure the monster into a tripwire. You don't ever have to lure the monster into rocks being thrown from the top of a hill/mountain. You don't have to dive into the side of a cliff as the boulders are being launched at you from the top of the cliff avoiding the collisions with such things including the lack of snow to do this. Humans aren't even really fighting humans including the use of such techniques and they certainly aren't trapping monsters. The flying creatures aren't dropping anything onto you and this has been a feature since Nintendo? It's not just enemy density it's lack of mother father child etc. There is no baby cyclops as an example. There is no interacting with monster creations or abductions by monsters other than one stupid ass wolf story but it's not like you've found a child raised by the environment ever who went missing 20 years ago. Blaise bleh. It's still great though but for me it is way less complete than what it promises to do in its totality. It is because of its incompleteness that my wants aren't fulfilled. A simple story of capturing baby cyclops lures the parents to a battle. A simple story of the Griffin being an egg layer vs have you seen the daddy yet? Take an egg and watch what happens to that town? It doesn't even take real skill to do a story plot outline here it's just the lack of it that drives me absolutely bonkers. From the differences in what kind of rewards one gets to the skills specials abilities etc that are used by the creatures. Then there's like creating sounds ideas of sounds or smells to lure enemies that aren't even in the world that can be seen but can be added. Wearing certain capes wearing certain furs women vs men using things dragging dead things to spots or areas? Burning things at a campfire that attracts enemies during the day night process. It's just missing too much of this and it's easily added?
"Everything else... who cares" Well we all cleary care as this game could have been SO much more. imagine this game with witcher 3 side quests. Just more quests would really have helped. More way to build back towns after dragon attacked etc.
Unfortunately we'll just have to wait until the DLC drops which means were gonna have to pay again... the sad state of the AAA industry unfortunately, I'm not gonna say buy it but man I do love the game so at the very least I'll wait for reviews before purchase.
@@thetrashcanman7537 That's fine you can be happy with fighting the same three enemies on the maps that's fine. Have you played witcher 3? The quests were really interwined with the open world and areas of the game which made it more engaging.
This guy rated starfield like an 8/10 btw. Influencer reviews dont hold much value as it is biased bc he wants to keep getting sponsership deals. DD2 is mid at best even if you remove the day 1 dlc and mtx controversy.
5 questlines mattered to me. The elf town sister rescue, Sven (even though it was simple, it was endearing), Ulrika, the Sphinx, and the poor girl. I have one character left that I might enjoy their quest, a beastren woman. Other than that, none of the quests mattered to me. ----- As for going back to playing DD1, there is ONE reason I would struggle with that. DD1's world is way way way way more repetitive. You know exactly what's going to happen on every spot on the map. You know exactly where you're going every minute. There's no reason to avoid the optimal path.
This game lacks some core things. 1. Better refresh rate. Very critical. 2. AI for enemies and Pawns. Enemies dive into the Brine. The pawns are severely dumber. They jump off ledges, cant jump some gaps. 3. Dialogue. Especially with pawns. We have 1/5 of the amount of dialogue then in the 1st game. 4. Story. Since the story quest is so lack luster, we need more world quests. And no, I dont mean escort. They should bring back the notice board and have some default quests that randomize itself AND have people actually put up bounties for rewards. (In addition to the pawn quest of course.) 5. Level Scaling. Why, if this game has a lvl cap at 999, it has no level cap. Why. I understand we still dont have the update for new game modes like speedrun and hardmode. But we definitely need a gamemode with level scaling enemues because this game was way too easy. 6. More lore. There is barely any lore books in the world. I even think some are incomplete. For a 4x bigger world, we have 1/10 of the history lore that dd1 had. Theres more I can add but imo, these are top ones that need work asap. The story already cant be fixed. It would be so hard to fit more main story quests vs adding more side quests.
If Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen was literally rebooted (same enemies, locations, but improved textures models and improved quests) it would definitely be better than DD2 imo. The only thing that probably holds DDDA holds it back is its age, hence essentially clunkier than DD2.
That's crazy. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who got to the true ending and perked up at the story there. Everything leading up to that point was just passable.
Dragon dogma 1 is better but 2 offers best exploration. Pawns in 1 can be configured via the chair and know when to heal. The 1 have the choir that welcomes you when you get outside in the wild. The 1 have plenty of teleport stones.
i like both dd1 and dd2 put in 100hrs, combat and vocations is great. Character creations is the highlight for me. I made creations for everyone especially Guts from Berserk
@@DietersYT I would assume NG+, or just starting a new game. NG+ lets you fully recreate your character and pawn, including their name, as though you started a new game proper.
Playing DD2 make me sad i didnt play more DDON. I just miss the online game tbh. Had better and more content as well as an over arching story and more, all off the backbone of DD1s class systems. Course it has issues but they are essentially the same issues DD2 has.
I feel that while both games are essentially Dragon's Dogma, you could have both installed and play either in a strange paradoxical manner where... Again, both games feel like Dragon's Dogma, but they also differ enough in gameplay that you could switch to DD2 if you're tired of DD1 on a Thursday, and then return to DD1 when you're weary of DD2 on a Saturday.
I feel the same way, I do have high hopes for the future of this game and i'm counting on it that it will have a Dark Arisen-type Expansion one day that will add a better Endgame Loop, More enemies and a Bitterblack Isle type dungeon, it would mean farming Dragonforged gear become useless unless they add those 'Cursed tiers' to smithing like in the first game. But it wouldn't matter, DD1 had the 'Dragon's Dogma' weapons aswell, but were completly overshadowed by Bitterblack items. But Capcom confirming it on Social media that they'll keep supporting the game gives me hope. And one Day i think DD2 will get the DarkArisen Treatment aswell, DD1 din't release with Dark Arisen either and enemy variety and the endgame was boring too.
Asmon: Gameplay is the only thing I care about. Also Asmon: Despite FF7 having entirely different gameplay in every possible way. I wouldn't want it to be game of the year because it has the same story.
What's strange about the lack of referential storytelling is that daimon from bbi is actually straight up on one of the loading screens when you die. But I gotta say if we get a bitterblack isle type of dlc, the game would be perfect to me. The only thing I find lacking was the number of enemies, so I'd honestly just like a lot more of those, and I'll be satisfied.
Yea it doesnt seem your pawns gain fighting intellect in this game , in the old game they could lesrn enemies weaknesses esp in other ppls world and then they would tell u b4 fights n mages would engulf ur weopons in best element
They do, you have to get the badge for that enemy. It's a bit silly really, I have like 2 badges even though I've murdered the entire world to death several times over, by the time they learn to fight something, you don't need their help anymore.
ya, the pawns learning, and their voice line of 'I've learned something new about this foe' was great. It felt much more organic. Pawns could learn about EVERY enemy in DDDA with a whole checklist you could work towards. They really dropped the ball cutting that out
True the story of DD1 is way much better, 100+ hours just finished DD2. While DD1 need more time to finish all alternate endings. DD1 is harder & more complex, mobs has bigger energy bar. We need they bring back the Bitter black isles on DLC
Oh come on, the pawns in DD1 were WAY dumber. If I even walked near an edge, they'd run straight off. In this you really have to get close for them to self-delete.
We should really start rating games/movies "Is this worth the full price to play now? Or just wait for the sale?" Overall it appears that DD2 is a good game that most would enjoy. Though, at half price at best. 6:38 having flawless combat just isn't enough anymore to justify most people spending $69.99 before tax.
I don't understand why no one has spoken about Empowered Vocations. Everyone's biggest complaint with the first game is that you could more or less ruin your character by not paying attention to your stat growth and leveling with the "wrong" vocation. They doubled down on this in DD2 AND MADE IT EFFECT YOUR PAWN. You can't even get full stat gains on level-up until NG+, so anyone that spends a lot of time on their first playthrough is going to have a worse character and Main Pawn than someone who rushed to NG+.
I couldn’t even beat the game cause I got sooooo tired of the same enemies over and over and having to run everywhere cause there was no horse or mounts of any kind boring as hell game
Don't criticize FF7 for not being a 'new' game if you've never played either the new ones or the original. There are definitely a lot of flaws in the game IMO, but that is not one of them. It's like criticizing an anime for being based on a manga instead of being an anime original. Yes it's the same story (with many changes btw) but the gameplay, visuals etc are so different that it is a completely different experience.
I really can't agree that exploration rewards you that much. The dungeons are just so mid. Just caves, nothing that makes you go WOW this is not something i've seen before.
First time playing DD1 and it's been a blast. Combat is phenomenal and the magic mechanics are some of the best I've seen in any ARPG. Trying to remain committed to taking a deep dive in the first game and play all the vocations before someday getting into DD2.
In terms of gameplay depth, you will be disappointed if nothing changes with DD2 DLC. DD1 DA has more depth in terms of armor, magic, skills, gameplay, story, enemy variants (at least for now). It's really disheartening. DD2 is still good, don't get me wrong. But it's a step back and two steps to the side.
At level 66 combat is way too easy for me. Also I don't like how the story drops off a cliff when you are sent to battahl. The performance problems are my biggest issue though.
bruh. combat gets easy at level 30 - enemies just don't scale with difficulty and you're fighting recoloured goblins and lizards whole time. it's even more annoying they added ng+ feature with 0 scaling
solid 5/10, had some fun Bethesda-esque moments with the AI and braindead pawn system. classes felt underwhelming, world events felt underwhelming, performance had to be fixed with a mod, they could've done so much more with the pawn system like build your own town/kingdom style - all in all felt like a game that should've been released in 2018. edit: damn just think about the "stealth" sections. no wonder they didn't show them in their presentations XD
Garbage story. Bad Menus/Inventory. Uninspiring loot/itemization (I have no idea how Cohh thinks its good, its incredibly bare bones). Combat ok, but is only fun when you fight the larger enemies. Open world exploration is.. ok, but bogged down by a horrible camera and pointless enemies every 5 feet (the same enemy types over and over as well). Music is good. Pawns are cool. Character customization is absolutely amazing, probably the greatest character creator of all time. Overall, I think the game is held back by a multitude of things, that completely prevent me from actually having fun with the game. Ultimately I shelved it after about 10 hours of gameplay. I'd return to it, but I don't think it's likely to happen any time soon.
True, especially about loot and also dungeon design. First one had more mix and match, resistances mattered more, you had more options being meaningful (even at Bitterblack Isles). I don't know what happened. They ported 80% of the content over with updated graphics and still made it's interactions more shallow. AND WHERE ARE MY UNIQUE DUNGEONS WITH UNIQUE LOOT?! I DON'T WANT TO SEE ANOTHER GODDAMN CAVE! DAAYYUUUMMM SOOONNNN!
@@Mayhzon Another reason I don't understand why people say exploration is amazing. How is it amazing? You struggle to actually look at the world due to the shitty camera system. You're constantly fighting the same enemy pack every 5 feet. The dungeons all look the same, with the same enemies in them, and they don't even properly reward you so you have no incentive to do them. On top of all that, the performance is ass.
I have 175 hours in Dragons Dogma 2. I hope they release new game plus and hard mode. I would pay top dollar because this is my favorite series of all time. I played DDDA and DD online.
"The story was terrible but I don't care because the gameplay was fun". I've had a couple experiences like that. The first one I can think of from my own experience is Fantasy Life.

Also noting that apparently Itsuno's team is half the size they had when they made the first game according to LegDrops
@@DanteVerde-pt9zc yeah, it was an absurdly small team for a capcom game. I'm still so mad about that.

That's what happens when ur dev team gets cut in 1/3 down to 350 people lol
They did this in DD1 also. Capcom has become such pricks. Remember when they took over MH Rise Devs? Forced MHW devs to change Head devs vision for it. Thats why some mechanics/apex were abandoned in Sunbreak.
How do we know that that's not his full vision, though? Don't get me wrong, I dislike Capcom quite a lot (especially after the paid micros fiasco) but has he spoken about stuff that wasn't present in the game or are we just blaming Capcom for everything wrong about the game now?

totaly agreed. I want to play it again but now i know i wont have any challenge in dificulty until the endgame with no new things until then. so i prefer to play dd1 for the first time
luckily, that's exactly what the first game's expansion had, so it seems likely that DD2's expansion will have those too
Play it with no pawns, that’s what I’m doing and having a blast! Feels hard.

This! I don't understand how that isn't a thing! Especially without mounts like come on...
there are also not really any interesting enemy locations. there is one somewhat big bandit village, but they are so spread out, it doesnt matter. in 1 there were 2 or 3 fortresses filled to the brim with bandits with which you could choose to fight, and the saurians were way more impactful in 1. in 2 they are also nearly everywhere
Yeah they definitely dropped the ball on enemy variety and stuff like that. It's just 90% of the same stuff from dd1
Gryphon nests are the only things that come to mind to me
yess!! in DD1 there was a goblin camp with 3 ogres and so many goblins. Missed having unique enemy camps like that in the second
When I finished Elden Ring, I had that feeling that I wish there was more. Same with NieR Automata, only with that game, it's the realization I couldn't experience it again for the first time.
Feel this so hard. I’ve restarted Elden Ring multiple times, but nothing matches that first PT
Maybe it's cause I had a decade+ of souls games leading up to it but I definitely don't understand that. When I finished elden ring, I was sad, but I certainly didn't want more. After nearly 500 hours of exploring every corner of that map, I was done, done.
I thought it was impossible to restart a game hundreds of times and still find it fun. Elden Ring proved me wrong.
@Mecht Elden Ring did feel like a completely new experience that you could never have again. I agree that for that one, especially with the horrible final boss, I was just about done.
I had the exact same with this game.
"I love combat, I only care about combat, combat is king, only combat matters in a game"

@@acev3521 na DD2 is way over hyped. Elden Ring has nothing to do in the conversation. It's a great from soft game that does what it does best. I could go further into it but I've already written a small essay.
when the cyclop walks into the magical rune thingy with two flame cannons inside: 😙
Everything in fact was over simplified in DD2, even the story with it's final "twist". DD1 just did it all better, visuals aside. That's a shame.
Of thats your biggest complain... 😂

Which still doesnt excuse some basic mistakes like not having a new game option at launch or no hardmode/NG+ scaling.

the story isnt good, but "hate" or "terrible". nah. if want to get more conclusion or explanation you have to do the sidequests, those are almost all a part of the main story. for example wilhelmina, in the main story the player sees her twice and then never again. just a random girl wil intro who helps the hero and then nothing, dfuck? ye, in her side quests they explain who she is and why she was helping. doesnt save the story but makes it more digestible.
Tbh my only real complain abt DD2 is the enemy variety.. We need more enemies variety
the story absolutely CRUMBLED at the end its actually hilarious. the whole story in general was just whatever, but besides that everything else the game offered was pretty much what i expected having played the original. the game was not finished and its kinda obvious. heres to hoping they add a BBI type of DLC and make up for it.
Great take, not a masterpiece by any means but it is a very fun game for sure

Now go Arisen and listen to "Into Free-Dangan" to understand this madness!
on point, honestly I feel like DD2's biggest improvement since the first one is only visuals and animations, everything else was dumbed down
there's some cool new additions like camping and core skills but that's about it
im glad im not the only one who noticed the shift in tone. it became more like a high fantasy, lord of the rings tone which fucking sucks (my opinion) its also because added elves and beastrens.
Have you seen the leaks for the new DLC, sounds like (if it's true) it sounds like it's gonna be way better than DDDA.

The title song in dd1 was one of the greatest in all gaming
Of all the things they dropped the ball on, this was my biggest peeve (lack of epic/cheesy menu music), funny enough
I disagree, End of the Struggle from DD1 is one of the greatest in all of gaming
Halo OST is the king. Go on say it; you know you want to
aint no way. i couldnt STAND that song. it was so bad. i was sick of hearing her hit that high note by the time you go through the double title screen and load your save. its painful and piercing. worst song in gaming and not even close. i even sent a recording of it to my friends as a meme and everyone one to a man, was like, wtf is with that song!?? 😂😂
@@Marcoboyle00 I think he's talking about Into Free which was the original intro song before Dark Arisen.
Honestly dragon's dogma 2 is making me want to go back and do the BBI challenge.
I never played the first one but "They were so close to making the perfect game but.. they didn't sadly" permeates the entire game. It feels like somewhere is a perfect game but it missed the mark a tiny bit in a lot of aspects that added up to a game that feels a bit off

Dark Arisen dlc was masterful.
Here is why I was not having fun with Dragon's Dogma II:
My pawns can't seem to traverse...
The world map, while ostensibly larger, does not have as much space to navigate.
the journey to 50% sale continues...

As someone who has 1002 hours on the first game, this game is absolutely amazing for me as well. Can't stop playing. And when I do, I'm thinking about it.

It needed another year with this sized dev team
@@blackyvertigo Yeah dont get me wrong, I had a great time during my playthrough, I didnt give it enough credit in my comment. Combat and exploration are my two biggest things I enjoy. If only this was more up to cratch with everything else to what we expect from games in 2024.
Yes
If dd2 gets an expansion I hope its a one to one replica of the first game.
The main story is soo fucking short, I feel like if I just focused on them the game would be over in a blink of an eye.
@@paintl3gz it feels like it badly needs a DLC to sort the story out, it mostly will get one but the story is broken without it.
@@paintl3gz lmao this! 😂 Don't get me wrong, I still love this game regardless of it's short comings, but you hit the nail on the head.

Watching the ability to like climb these giant monsters trees environments really has made me wonder what it's like to explore an ancient forest back in Dinosaur dayS?

Dragons Dogma 2 really misses the Mark with having to run and hide from the monster in the world.

You have abilities that use cloaks and smoke bombs but you never have to hide under something.

As for going back to playing DD1, there is ONE reason I would struggle with that.
DD1's world is way way way way more repetitive. You know exactly what's going to happen on every spot on the map. You know exactly where you're going every minute. There's no reason to avoid the optimal path.
We cant have stuff be better in the 2nd games over the first. What kind of world would we be living in if newer shit worked better than the older.
I know right? Sad. :(
This game lacks some core things.
(In addition to the pawn quest of course.)
Arisen aka people who have that DAWGma in them.
Dragons ligma
You two, back to the Nexus with you! I'm getting new pawns.
I made creations for everyone especially Guts from Berserk
are there multiple save files yet?
@@DietersYT There never will be
@@twinslive. then why is this guy touting the multiple characters he made? I’m confused
@@DietersYT I would assume NG+, or just starting a new game. NG+ lets you fully recreate your character and pawn, including their name, as though you started a new game proper.
@DietersYT if you play on console you can just make a separate account to basically use as a separate save file for the game
Playing DD2 make me sad i didnt play more DDON. I just miss the online game tbh. Had better and more content as well as an over arching story and more, all off the backbone of DD1s class systems. Course it has issues but they are essentially the same issues DD2 has.
Dlc in this game will be a banger
I feel that while both games are essentially Dragon's Dogma, you could have both installed and play either in a strange paradoxical manner where... Again, both games feel like Dragon's Dogma, but they also differ enough in gameplay that you could switch to DD2 if you're tired of DD1 on a Thursday, and then return to DD1 when you're weary of DD2 on a Saturday.
there's a grand total of 40 (yes, four and zero) side quests in this game... might I add BORING side quests. Definitely not goty
Definitely not GOTY xD BUT! I have had a great time playing it so far 20 hours in
Don't need a game to be goty to like it
I feel the same way, I do have high hopes for the future of this game and i'm counting on it that it will have a Dark Arisen-type Expansion one day that will add a better Endgame Loop, More enemies and a Bitterblack Isle type dungeon, it would mean farming Dragonforged gear become useless unless they add those 'Cursed tiers' to smithing like in the first game.
I’ve def heard the pawns say which elements are strong/weak against different foes
I hired a pawn, and they WONT stop killing rabbits and birds. The other pawns don't exhibit this same behavior, just this one in particular.
@@Flayvuu I think its because their Arisen won't stop killing rabbits and birds. My own Pawn smashes every container he finds.
DD2 can't reference DD1 cause this game is more of a remake despite its title.
Why do you say it’s more of a remake? I don’t understand
@@natediaz1863it puts the 2 in the title when you get to the post game
That’s correct, the title screen doesn’t change until you get to the post game
Thats just not true about no references because Gran Soren is literally in the game.
It was good But gets boring in ng+ no challenge. Im having a blast with final fantasy rebirth now.
Oh come on, the pawns in DD1 were WAY dumber. If I even walked near an edge, they'd run straight off. In this you really have to get close for them to self-delete.
I can’t wait to pick it up in about 4 months or whenever they fix the pc version
We should really start rating games/movies "Is this worth the full price to play now? Or just wait for the sale?" Overall it appears that DD2 is a good game that most would enjoy. Though, at half price at best. 6:38 having flawless combat just isn't enough anymore to justify most people spending $69.99 before tax.
capcom really fumbled this game with its end game continuity.
Nooo you have to like the game because “everyone” says it’s good!!
/s
Jokes aside I totally agree mate. Game is boring AF.
@@Ti_Fire like it’s an alright game but not as good as people are making it out to be and especially not for the price
@@Dutch_Garrett1221 100% agree. Its a solid 7.
Every corner you turn it feels like there is goblins or a griffin, i'm like 2-3 hours in and bored already.
FF7 Rebirth is a certified banger
I really can't agree that exploration rewards you that much. The dungeons are just so mid. Just caves, nothing that makes you go WOW this is not something i've seen before.
What do you mean opening the fifth treasure chest in a row to get some useless consumable isn't rewarding?
Am i the only one that thinks this game is so over hyped and mid? Gameplay is good but everything else is so mid imo.
yes, your opinion is unique
It's painfully undercooked and mid. Even Starfield's story was more comprehensive (altho stupid) than this.

Outward is the true masterpiece and every gamer should at least try it
At level 66 combat is way too easy for me. Also I don't like how the story drops off a cliff when you are sent to battahl. The performance problems are my biggest issue though.
Agreed, combat is way too easy. Especially when they included such cheese options like what the thief has
@@Rain1 Even when you cut damage by 95 % you still can't lose to some big monsters, cause they just sit in stun forever
bruh. combat gets easy at level 30 - enemies just don't scale with difficulty and you're fighting recoloured goblins and lizards whole time. it's even more annoying they added ng+ feature with 0 scaling
Brother I beat the game at lvl 32 how are you 66
@@paintl3gz I explored and did as much side content as I could find. I beat the game around the 65 hour mark.
DD2 came out the same way DD1 came out, unfinished. I'm hoping that the DLC will fix the game in the same way Dark Arisen made DD1 playable.
solid 5/10, had some fun Bethesda-esque moments with the AI and braindead pawn system. classes felt underwhelming, world events felt underwhelming, performance had to be fixed with a mod, they could've done so much more with the pawn system like build your own town/kingdom style - all in all felt like a game that should've been released in 2018.
edit: damn just think about the "stealth" sections. no wonder they didn't show them in their presentations XD
Dude. Get out of my head!
Seriously. Agree with everything you said.
The map is absolutely terrible (the UI mostly)
The music of DD1 is supreme I agree. That chimera sting lives in my mind rent free.
