The team's nickname is Hawkeyes and is part of the Big Ten conference. The material was originally taken in 16mm film in Iowa City, IA, and then digitized in 2016. This feature was filmed the 14th thru the 21st of October, 1961. This was Jerry Burns 1st year of coaching for the Hawkeyes. Overall it was a good year for the Hawk's.
Interesting film that deftly arcs from and back to scenes of fall in a Midwestern neighborhood around the sport of football. Nicely combined. And the picture quality is excellent; I expect this was enhanced.

Not even the most passionate football fan knew their game was played with an ellipsoidal ball. I must admit, in my more than 50 years watching football games, I’d never heard the word used in conjunction with the sport. You never stop learning.
