How to Lucid Dream for Beginners
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 чер 2019
- Lucid dreaming is the process of being aware that you are dreaming while you dream? Have you experienced a dream so vivid that you feel like you are in it and that you could control the directions of your dreams? If so, Psych2Go compiled research material to help you lucid dream.
We also made a video about dream meanings that you could check out too:

To those who are scared of sleep paralysis:
If you find yourself paralysed, don’t open your eyes, and just keep trying to move. Once you successfully move, keep your eyes closed, and to make sure you’re not in another dream plug your nose and try breathing. If you can’t breathe with your nose plugged you’ve woken up
Thank you so much. I really want to lucid dream but I'm afraid it'll become a nightmare or ill get sleep paralysis.
All the steps:
1. Keep a dream journal
2. Auto-segestuon
3. MILD
4. Wake-up-back-to-bed
5. Reality check
6. Intention
7. External stimulation
:)
All the steps
Keep a dream journal -writing my dream down -1
Auto segestuon-affirm before my sleep that i will lucid dream and i shout clear my mind -2
Mild :before i sleep i now what i went to lucid dream
I will say the moment i dream i will remember I am sleeping
4-stay awake for half to 2hourse and comback to sleep
Wait hold up I have an idea what if you pinch yourself every time you use the restroom and get into the habit of it so one day you drink alot before you sleep so you have one of those toilet dreams and you pinch yourself so then you can change the Dre to whatever you want

Weird
Or maybe you saw that dream cuz your mum was trying to wake you up
(Sorry if my English sucks)
I can relate! And btw. climax also means something else you *UNEDUCATED SWINES*
Oh sorry... I realized that the majority on UA-cam are 12 and 9 year olds. Climax basically means if you reach the most interesting or best moment of your dream, book or movie. Though climax is mostly used for describing the “peak” of the book. My vocabulary is so bad I don’t know other synonyms for climax. But hope you get what I mean.
To those who might be doubtful or thinking of giving up don’t! It’s honestly one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. I had a lucid dream once and it took me about a month to get it (I was on and off with practice) and I don’t regret any of it. I’m going to practice regularly to hope I can master this skill. Lucid dreaming feels like real life except you can do anything you want, this is why reality checks are so important. Some reality checks I use are, holding my nose closed and trying to breath through it, and biting my tongue. These both work because you aren’t actually doing these because your body is asleep. So if you can breath with your nose closed, or biting your tongue doesn’t hurt, then you are dreaming! I hope this helps anyone who needs it!
So I can dream of being a anime chracter
@@rierz_yes ofc you can be and manifest whatever you want in your dream the technique to make someone specific enter your dream is to go to the closest door and imagine the person you want to be with is on the other side of the door and open it and if you don’t see any door nearby then you should ask someone “have you seen ____?” and they’ll point in some direction, that’s where your desired person will be :)
@@beomgyustreasure thanks bro, but when i tried it i just fell asleep and not lucid dream

My first lucid dream went like this:
I woke up in my tent, and I noticed I was lucid dreaming. I ran around the tent, then went to stand near the middle. I tried to summon a cat. It didn't work and I woke up.
10/10 would sleep again
I was at my church and I tried to fly cause it always seemed so fun but I’m afraid of heights and panicked so I woke up I’m so mad rn cause my brother always has the most exiting dreams
I remember I was sleeping in my dream with a cologne bottle in my hand but when I woke up in the same position there was no cologne bottle in my hand anymore and that was when I was a kid so I literally cried my eyes out 😂
did it feel like you were in real life?
That's hilarious oh my gosh 🤣
i was being chased by this awfully scary monstrous being, i didn't wanna be in that something that i realized was a "dream" or that "i'm dreaming", so i gave in to wake myself up. the best way to deal with lucid nightmares because any excessive movement inside the controlled dream would ruin the "dreaming" realm. idk about you guys, but totally works for me and this has happened plenty of times.

I honestly had the weirdest dream experience last week. On Friday I had a lucid dream, it was about me and my best friend. We were in my room at the start of the dream. For some reason we held hands and we span around making circle. When we stopped spinning, we ended up in a hug. At first, I was confused why we did that. Then I realised that our old friendship greeting ended like that. But to make it even more unusual, after the hug, the room changed completely. We were now in a wooden cottage looking room. The room had wooden walls, it had a big fireplace, some pictures hung up the walls, a white sofa with lots of pillows, a grey carpet, a black coffee table and a few plants. The room was very cozy. It had some windows with black curtains. My best friend decided to let some light in the room. By moving the curtain she revealed a place so beautiful and majestic. Outside was a tall mountain with a waterfall going down it. The waterfall turned into a crystal clear river with a wooden bridge. It seems like the house was in a forest. Despite the sound of the river and the birds who were signing, it was pretty quiet and peaceful. My best friend and I sat down on the sofa and startes talking. After a little bit of chatting, my bestie got thirty. She said the following words: Man, I wish I could just say "Give me a glass of water" and it would be there. That would be so much better than having to go down in the kitchen to get one. When she ended the last sentence, a glass of water, out of nowhere, was on the table. We were confused. Wanting to know what is happening, I wished there was a cup of tea. The same thing happend. We realised that when you wish that you have something in this house, it will be there. We tryed out will it work when we wish that there is something outside the house. It worked! As we explored what we can wish for, we came to the idea the try out will it work when we wish to travel. We wished that we were in Norway and, we were there. Sadly, that was the end of the dream. I tought that I will never know did we explore other countries or what did we do in Norway. I was desperate to know. The next night, I went to sleep. Guess what? I dreamed the same dream. We were there, at the same place, Norway. We ended up traveling around the world, visiting lots of beautiful places. The whole dream we were travelling and at the end we came back to the cottage. We wanted to know what will happen if we do the dance that brought us here. We did the dance and we were back. We were at my room. Even tough it was fun, we decided that for now we will stay at home.
This dream may be the weirdest dream experience I've ever had, but it is my first lucid dream and my best dream ever.
I dont know why but thanks for the story it was very interesting. and sorry if you think its sarcastic but its not sarcastic :p
I was actually interested to read the entire thing.

Lucid Dream misconceptions:
1. Everyone can lucid dream, it's just a matter of relaxation, patience and for some training. You cannot really be hurt in your lucid dreams, nor can you die. It does not translate into the real world.
2. You can't get stuck in your lucid dream, eventually you will wake up, even without you doing anything.
3. You can not "shift" into the real world or into the dreams of other people, you are in your own head.
4. Sleep paralysis is not dangerous, it's a natural part of dreaming and it can't hurt you. In fact it can help you to achieve lucid dreaming.
And lastly, everyone can lucid dream, it's just a matter of relaxation, patience and some training.
Thank you so much, even though I'm late, it really helped me lollll

You will feel awesome when you wake up. It's taken me almost 20 years of practice with lucid dreams but now I can almost have one every night, no more paralysis either.

I remember learning a specific technique on how to lucid dream 1st time round without fail in college, the Psychology professor taught us, it involved a closing a door & having a dim light on behind it & look at it in absolute darkness for a few minutes, & then close your eyes & go to sleep, The idea was that it would act as a doorway for your conscious mind to be able to enter the dream realm, it worked for me & I was able to "Vanquish" a creature in a recurring nightmare I've had since I was 4, but I don't remember 1 VITAL Step in the technique for it to work, IF ANYONE Can tell me what it was, I WOULD BE ETERNALLY Grateful. Also if anyone could tell me if this worked for you it & how you got it to work would be very much appreciated!
Had someone with the same kinda technique it was a reality check so when u go through the light imagine walk-in up stairs and counting them. At least that’s what I heard…

I was struggling so hard to lucid dream that I dreamt that someone was helping me to lucid dream 😭
I just wanna share my first lucid dream that I had experience and I cannot forget it.
I was in a very deep sleep when I felt my body is slowly floating and I alerted my self right after I felt so light and I'm half awake and what I did is that I said to my conscious mind "let it be, let it be" and stay focused on that momentum, after a couple minutes I cannot even understand how or why but my soul just float til it reaches on our ceiling I can't explain how light I am. It's the best thing that I felt.
And after I realised that Im in that stage, I did think to take advantage on that moment and the first i did is i want to posses in a person but i dont know if its normal but in a snap when i already possesed to a person I was a man and having sex with his wife/girlfriend the scenery is like in the Europe (it's day) and in a apartment building and window beside on the bed. I just stayed on that body for about 1minute.
After that moment I posses another person this time its in a girls body, I don't really remember this moment but I was in a park and its like autumn season and wearing a scarf and it's more nature vibe.
After a minute I just got in other scenery but I can't barely remember this one but I was like in the water. And in a snap just woke up it's already morning. After that I just kept it in myself coz I think it was weird to say to someone but I guess I'm not the only one. I always attempt to be in that situation again every night but I can't focused.
Excuse me for my bad English.
tip: if you have a good dream and It just cut off because to woke up if you need to move, just move, but don't open your eyes and think your dream again and you'll continue your dream if you do that. I always do that technique and it's very effective.
I think at start you did Astral travel which means out of body experience and by focusing in it you did lucid dram
Idk if this helps anyone else but I took notes to refer back to:
1. Keep a dream journal
-Sensory info: Who was there, what were they wearing, scents or fragrances, environment, music, emotions felt
-Consider dreams as memories
2. Auto suggestion
-“I will have a lucid dream” before falling asleep
-Clear mind while falling asleep
3. Mnemonic induction of lucid dreams (MILD)
-Right before falling asleep, rehearse the dream and imagine what you’ll be in it. -Say phrases like “the next time that I dream, I want to remember that I’m dreaming” (Mantra)
-Say 5 minutes before falling asleep
4.Wake up back to bed (WBTB)
-Wake up in the middle of the night and stay awake for 30 min-2 hours to reenter REM sleep faster
5. Reality check
-Ask yourself if you’re dreaming while you’re awake
-Look for signs: clock, jump up in the air (come down immediately?)
-Combine with other techniques for high effectiveness
6. Intention
-Imagine being in a dream and recognizing you are before falling asleep
-Set up what you want to dream about by visualizing it
7. External stimulation
-Sleep mask, etc.
-Reminds you you are asleep
Tysm

Ok can I just tell a nightmare I had once?
It was where there was this big giant museum, and it was tall, but really small in width. So, my family and I just went in, to go look at walls. Then, there was this- bouncy castle elevator that lead nowhere other than the ceiling. There was a room beside the elevator, and jumping in the bouncy castle would let you go into there. Apparently there was a Minecraft giant zombie spawner, and my legs were eaten. We ran out, and drove away in a car. It was very weird-
Watching this makes me realize how I almost (UNINTENTIONALLY) became a lucid dreamer back when I was younger.
Ever since I started a dream journal, my dreams have been so detailed and lucid. It astonishes my husband who never dreams.
Same here! But I stopped writing about my dreams almost a year ago so I don't really have vivid dreams, let alone those I can control
Yeah, the night after I purposely started writing them down, I could emediatly remember so much!

The one time I actually realized I was dreaming in a dream, I was in the middle of something in that dream and told myself, "I'm busy, I'll try random stuff later."
I never got to try flying or anything. -_-
Having had a brain infection in 2012 i was left with many conditions but one positive one is lucid dreaming most of the time. Its at times so wild i dream while I'm awake. The best is when I try to change the outcome of my dream like asking someone in my dream if they will go to work for me. Flying is the best and the worst is when I have what they call night terrors. I have learned to control my breathing and not to worry too much about the shadow in the corner that is coming to hurt me. Love your channel ❤

The first time i had a lucid dream was actually unintentional. I still remember every bit of that dream and i can picture it in my mind exactly how i saw it half a year ago.
The dream went like this:
I was going upstairs in my apartment, it was daytime, but one floor was abnormally dark. Seeing that i stopped at that floor. Then i began staring at the darkness. As i was staring, all of a sudden i became aware that i was dreaming (This is the point from where i started lucid dreaming). I looked at my hands, then i started looking around. While doing so, i tried to move my hand. But i couldn't, my hands were getting heavier. I started to panic, just as i started to panic i started to say "sunflower field" for a countless amount of times, hoping that i would be able to change my dream into a happy one. But, it was no use. And then i woke up. I slowly felt the heaviness fading away from my hands.
I also came up with a theory that explains why my hands felt heavy, so the theory is, when i was in the dream, i could control my body that is inside the dream and my actual body that is sleeping. You could say, its like a game. My real body is sleeping on the bed and the body inside my dream is like a character that im controlling. Now the reason my hands felt heavy when i tried to move them was probably because i tried to move the hands of my actual body, not the body thay is inside the dream. My hands turned heavy to prevent me from moving them, otherwise the dream will be broken and my mind probably didn't want the dream to be broken this soon.
It's pretty weird, but whatever it was, it was a pretty cool experience.
Me watching this: I wonder what I should dream about?
Me one second later: HISOKA AND IAZAWA HERE I COME

@sadッboi Its okay. Things will pass away as time goes by. Who knows, she'll remember to forgive and maybe give some chances .😉😄
@sadッboi 0_0
Wow.
You're pretty persistent.
But failing 3 times isn't a joke, seems like she isn't interested in giving you anymore chances.
Welp!
Time to move on and give yourself some love!👊
I find that you don't actually need to be fully aware to control your dreams. (In fact, if you are fully aware you tend to wake up pretty soon afterward.) From my own personal experiences, I find that confidence helps. Not confidence that you will lucid dream but confidence/determination in just whatever it is your trying to change in your dream. You have to carry it over to real life as well, though, because otherwise you won't do it in your dreams. Let's say you want to fly in your dream or make a door to get somewhere or something. You have to have the confidence that of course it'll happen because God damn you said so. Then it happens even if you don't know your in the dream. Funnily enough, that can act as a reality check and tell you that you're dreaming, giving you an even higher level of control. But yeah. Just do something similar IRL without doing anything stupid or making yourself look crazy. Maybe just imagine the hall your walking in changing colour with that same determination/confidence behind it. I hope this helps even with my bad explanation. Don't know if it's supported by research or a way that's researched at all but it works for me.
Also, it's easier to remember your dreams if you try to think about them as your waking up/immediately after. Like, in that time in the morning when your laying in the bed awake but still really tired and kinda still half asleep and groggy and all that fun jazz.
Tell me if any of this works for you!
I'm trying to do the lucid dream methods for shifting so-
Me too
I'm tryna learn that method
I JUST REALIZED WHAT IF EVERY TIME YOU SPACE OUT SOMEONE OUT THERE (could be in another universe etc) IS DREAMING FROM YOUR EYES
That’s why dreams end suddenly sometimes (that’s people calling you or something bringing you back to reality) and why you don’t remember clearly or see clearly what happened when you space out
@Alexikato29 Holy shit what should I do with this knowledge 💀
I had a dream about waking up and getting ready so when I actually woke up i was like I'M ALREADY READY I'M GOING BACK TO SLEEEPPP

Oh thats cool 😂
What if,
You wanted to lucid dream.
But god said

@Third Echelon everyone dreams. The question you need to ask is if you can remember them as soon as you wake up.

My first lucid dream went on and on. It was outside of my REM cycle and I was oversleeping. I was disturbed by my dad but I fell asleep again in like 5 minutes and woke up again. Only this time, I woke up in my dream. Everything in my room was floating and I IMMEDIATELY knew I was lucid. I got so excited but it didnt wake me and started exploring the house outside of my room which had obviously changed. I floated through walls, looked myself in the mirror, looked at the construction of tthe house and MY GOD was it detailed. I flew out on the street, explored the city which obviously was totally different and kind of a utopian world. It was the longest and most lucid dream I have ever had and it was AMAZING 😭
I accidentally did the visualisation one. One day I was staying home from school sick and I thought to myself "Imagine if I was actually sleeping at school", and it must have been just before I fell asleep, because I was dreaming it. I didn't consciously recognise it was a lucid dream, so I didn't do anything like fly around or sleep with anybody, but I knew I was awake, cause I had only visualised me sleeping on the desk, so in the dream, my bedroom merged into a classroom. I woke up because I was trying to work how I could feel something in my dream despite knowing I was sleeping, so I opened my eyes...
@Oof 痛い Lol sorry. I accidentally gave myself a lucid dream, but I didn't realise until I woke myself up that it was a lucid dream. So, I knew I was dreaming, but I didn't realise I had control over the dream and could have done whatever I wanted.
" Have a dream journal!"
Me: *i have a nightmare journal is that ok*

Yup I don't have a nightmare journal or a dream journal but I had more dreams then nightmares nightmares:2

Same. Basically all my dreams are nightmares lol
I have a dream journal but I write everything to do with sleep: my ordinary dreams, lucid dreams, nightmares and sleep paralysis experiances
Only ever done it twice, both times I realized I was dreaming seconds before being woken up. Gonna start practicing because thought it was short lived it was really cool.
About a year ago, I used to be able to Lucid dream every few nights for about a month or two and was actually excited to go to bed, going to sleep early because I was so eager. Now, I've been trying since I remembered using no techniques, but quickly forgot because of the distractions, and I've been unsuccessful for the past week. I've been repeating the phrase, "When I am dreaming, I will remember I'm dreaming." And confidently too. i hope this works.
did it work
I got 2 lucid dreams before! But im going to tell you the weirder one 🤧
So I wake up in my room, on my bed. Everything looks completely normal until...
I get out of my bed and opened the door to the living room. When I opened the door, one the left side there is a meadow full of flowers. On the right side there are pieces of wood planks scattered. Think of a broken wooden cabin door. Thats kind of what it looked like. Then, I saw a dRaWeR with eyes and a mouth. He said "hey" and thats when I knew I was dreaming 😂 I have other bizzare dreams that I have forgotten but what surprised me is that no matter how weird the dream is, I never realize that its a dream. Thats the only weird dream that I have that I can control. Its weird...
The other one is very normal, like very. Im not going to tell you though 😌 nobody has time for that!
Day 124: I have starting learning how to lucid dream to meet with my friends.

Only lucid dream i ever had was a truly disturbing night terror where i knew i was dreaming but couldn't wake myself up. I started to panic and it only got worse. Luckily i woke up eventually.

I dreamed my cat came back home (he disappeared weeks ago) and I was so happy about that, that I started to question myself if I was dreaming, than I looked around and observed my house looked different and also things didn't look real, so I realized I was in a dream and I even said that to my brother and mother in the dream. I remember I was waiting for myself to wake up.. such a strange experience, you feel like you are in another dimension, but I wish I could have a lucid dream again.
I have getting lucid dreams naturally. After that I think I want to improve that so I watch this video and it help to get lucid dreams in more realistic

@_____________ tf
I wanna go to hogwarts thats why I wanna lucid dream! :> (I wanna planning on killing but someone said you shouldn't do that ;-;)
This is actually true. So, I'm unawarely dreaming. Me and two people I've never met (who were my friends in the dream) climbed into a small hamster cage standing on an abandoned football field in the middle of the night. We were then teleported to a vampire realm, where my two "friends" were kidnapped, strapped to a pole and slowly burnt to death. Meanwhile I didn't care, and one of the vampires gave me a little tour of their little campsite. The vampire gave me a potato, and said "watch, and so him and the other vampires started dancing around my friends. I looked at the potato and thougt: "Is this a dream? No, I'ts too realistic."
Lucid dream is so exciting I realize that I woke up with dissatisfaction that I woke up early before dream completes and can complete the dream again falling asleep sometimes... Some of the great experiences of life is to dream while you know you are in a dream and direct it as you want ... That's a great fortune to realize ,you direct dream you direct reality
I’ve always thought of dreams as another dimension. Thinking of them as memories... that’s never gotten past me before.

2:28 this causes sleep paralysis and i don’t recommend you try it from my own experience (it might be different for you)
@- Felinophile hell yah indeed! im always curious what it feels to have sleep paralysis, i mean its cool, you have to admit it, its kindaa cool. I wonder if you can beat the demon, i think i can do it, ill make my demon be a meme😂
@@BertJohnAFrias It's horrible, sleep paralysis is something you don't want to experience. I remember that there was the silhouette of a guy walking towards me and I was frozen, I couldn't scream, I couldn't move or breathe, it was horrible... But if you're so curious, go ahead...

Yesterday I had a lucid dream and thought I want to do that again
Once when I was like 5, I couldn’t fall asleep and just *blink* it was morning. Do dreams have time zones?
Sort of
In a dream time moves more drastically than the normal time zone in real life so maybe
Horrific Reader I had the same experience. I kept my eyes open for 2 seconds and it changed to morning
Ducky BreadTuber it would be weird to forget all of it immediately. But dreams are dreams, and dreams are weird.
Oh I love when that happens! It happens to me every so often.
I once had a very wholesome dream where I was adventuring with my crush.

I had a dream a couple months ago that I don’t remember, but I realized I was in a dream. I kissed my crush but before I could do anything else I woke up.

i like those better than the sexuap ones. i had a dream where i had a deep conversation about reality with my crush at the time as we sat on the roof of a tall building at night. it made me pretty happy
Awww that's cute.. I dreamt about me and my crush were on good terms-
I used to have scary dreams so I just thought of my dreams as TV channels and changed them to something I perfered
I always get excited whenever i realize that i'm lucid dreaming which makes me wake up 😭
I thought everyone could lucid dream and control their dreams until I saw this video...
Everyone that dreams can lucid dream, it just takes practice to do it consistently

how could you kill your self in a dream????
epicgirl 002 it’s possible, say u wanna go jump off of a building and fly, but you forgot to do a reality check and your not actually dreaming. Therefore, you have died. So basically mixing reality with the dream world.
Rosado016 how the fuck do you wake up on a building
Or many just sleep walk over to the kitchen, grab a knife and yeah
@@rosado0169 yeah that's scary, reality check is so important lol
i used to be able to lucid dream when i had nightmares, but i was never able to change anything. i was scared and then i would say to myself “i’m dreaming” and i would close my eyes as tight as i can and open them really fast and i would end up opening my eyes in real life and wake myself up. i haven’t lucid dreamt in years but it’s such an interesting feeling
I tried using music before and I reckon it worked. I woke up 3/4 through my sleep, starting playing music really low in my headphones and then fell straight back asleep... I remember the songs in the 2hr long playlist, what I was doing in the dream, and think I remember being more in control of the events. Nevertheless, as I was in an REM state of sleep it really opened things up. It changed my perception of the music and enhanced the listening experience which was really fun.
In my dreams I break the 4th wall and KNOW I'm in a dream but I can not control them
Dynamite Ice cream same it is soo frustrating
controlling them comes easily to me, i kinda just focus on what i want

Sometimes i know that im dreaming and just let the story flow, i donno i feel like i have power or som shit, then cheat sometimes, example me and my friend's wer running from a zombie hord, they catch up (cus dreams) so what i did was summon some mediocre weapons ( totally did not do a power ranger transformation cliche) and we beat the shit out of the zombie, sometimes also i know that im dreaming then after a while of the same dream, forgot that im dreaming, is that normal?
Same dude, a few months ago I was in school doing work and realized I was dreaming. And then instead of doing cool stuff I just continued throughout the school day and woke up to an alarm to get ready for school
Me: *lucid dreaming*

I tried to get a lucid dream and after struggling for a month I actually got one but my mom immediately woke me up to go to school 🙄😢

i say the phrase "am i awake?" when im awake so i could subconsciously ask myself that when i'm dreaming, then i'd be able to lucid dream. only worked once tho, it has been a year since.
I haven't had a lucid dream and remembered it but one of my biggest fear of lucid dreaming is thinking of something terrifying and getting stuck on this thought.
So the rest of the dream would be me just being in fear.
