U2? Let's Go !!! So many DECADES of music here. You will not regret it. Back in 1991 and 1992 when I was in High School and this song was big, a group of students performed it. Do 'Mysterious Ways' next. Like TONIGHT ! *Javon* , when you react to videos do you have the lyrics in front on you?
Love this song! Love U2! I’m 66 and have listened to them since their first album in the late 1970’s. Seen them in concert three times....amazing live shows❤️❤️❤️
As a hardcore U2 fan, this was awesome to watch. I know the songs and his voice like my own mind and seeing someone listening to both for the first time, wow. And the bit about his voice making you want to listen what he's got to say! Nobody could have said that better! Sometimes i wish i could erase my memories and listen to these songs for the first time. And yes, they write their songs but usually is bono who writes the majority of them. Love that you loved it!
U2 have some of the most amazing lyrics ever. I've seen people have already suggested some of their hits, I'd like to add Bullet the Blue Sky and the less known Exit, which still gives me goosebumps after so many years. BTW, I truly enjoyed your reaction :)
One of the greatest songs of all time (in my humble opinion). My favorite U2 songs: 5. Where the Streets Have no Name 4. Bad 3. Pride 2. All I Want is You 1. One
U2 isn't my favorite band. One is my all time favorite song though. That bass line is super underrated, and there are multiple iconic guitar riffs in the song as well. Wish I could hear this song for the first time all over again. As soon as I heard the opening riff I was like "oh shit."
U2 is a great group, they have many wonderful songs that I am sure have been recommend by others in their comments. Wonderful reactions from you once again Jayvee, Bono is a wonderful singer/songwriter and can never be underestimated. Thank you for once again playing a fantastic song I have forgotten, God bless you sweetheart. Take care and stay safe please everyone, love and hugs to you all Mary-Ellen UK
I think this is the 5th or 6th reaction in a row I've watched of your's, you pick some fabulous music to react to. I drove 8 hours to see U2 in concert in Chicago years ago, worth every mile driven. I was 12 when they hit the US with their ALBUM "War". I can't even pick a song to react to by them because they span decades and so much to choose from. New Year's Day and 11 O"Clock Tick Tock are the first 2 I recall then came Sunday Bloody Sunday which solidified them here. Beautiful Day, Elevation, Desire, Mysterious Ways, Vertigo, City of Blinding Lights, and Sometimes You Can't Make it on Your Own are just a handful to choose from lol.
I love seeing folks discovering U2 for the first time! I'd definitely recommend watching a live performance, like the combo of Bad and Where the Streets Have No Name from their 2001 Elevation concert in Boston.
Or the massively underrated Zooropa or Pop. But yeah their prime years commercially were Joshua & Achtung I love Red Hill Mining Town from The Joshua Tree...it evokes the nostalgia & decay of a once prosperous town, due to economic changes, Bono's powerful & emotive tones are perfect for the lyrics in this song. & Acrobat from Achtung Baby is amazing & unusual in its rhythm So many to choose from but favourite all time U2 song is Stay (Faraway, So Close) - reminds me of someone long gone from my life...
The entire “achtung baby” album is amazing!!! I literally wore the cassette out on my Sony walkman while walking to and from classes during my undergrad when it came out!
When Bono sings, he instantly create a big scale of space with height and depth in front of the audience. I would recommend “All I Want Is You” and “With Or Without You Rattle and Hum live version”
I saw them live in 1987 for their Joshua Tree Tour. I was 15/16yrs old at the time. Absolutely amazing experience. Lots of great song suggestions of theirs have been shared. Their older stuff though... it was really special. “With or Without You “, “Where the Streets Have No Name”, “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, “(Pride) In the Name I’d Love”. So many awesome songs to choose from!
All I Want Is You and Heartland are a must, from the Rattle and Hum album. City Of Blinding Lights Beautiful Day Vértigo An incredible live band with a huge catalogue of masterpieces.
I commented on this reaction after my brother had just passed... it was his favourite song... we had our disagreements n it makes the words so much more powerful... one life with each other , sisters brothers... wish I had him back... I know we go thru day to day n annoy each other but please love your family n those dearest... you never know when they'll be taken from you... music is so powerful xxx
I've always enjoyed listening to U2, Bono is a wonderful singer and the band is great. You can't go wrong with whatever song you listen to next as they made wonderful songs. Take care and stay safe please everyone love and hugs and Peace to you all Mary-Ellen UK
One of my fav 90s songs and-as far as lyrics concerned-one of my all time favs ever. An 80s song that also has very moving lyrics you should react to is “This Must Be the Place” by Talking Heads! Different vibe but a very moving price of art.
Omg! The Bono( singer) rabbit hole / U2 band. Such amazing music for gazillion years. Such an amazing singer writer and performer. Also does lots of charity work....more please. The rabbit hole is so long and great
No, it's not just you, this song cuts like a knife, right to the heart. So bitter - and yet hopeful. How profoundly human is that? Your reaction brought me to tears. Thank you for sharing your heart with us.
It’s a song about the band breaking up that ended up becoming about a million more things. Perfectly sums up the human experience. Easily my favorite song of all time.
Love this Reaction!!! They are AMAZING!!!! Sunday Bloody Sunday is my absolute favorite! Also “New Years Day” and “Still haven’t found what I’m looking for” thanks for all you do! I love it!!! ♥️
U2 has so many great songs. Check out "Sunday Bloody Sunday", "New Year's Day", "Pride (In the Name of Love)", "Desire", "Beautiful Day", "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". I could go on and on.
Thanks for doing U2! .....Check out GLORIA!...........It's often overlooked----one of their very earliest hits here..........and the video was a big hit when MTV was still pretty new...............The bandmembers all look so young.
This is ONE of their best, Bono and his buddies knows how to draw you in with his meaningful lyrics and emotional vocals! The rhythm section is awesome too! These a4e their best, you will love U2, With or Without You, I Still Haven’t Found What I Am Looking For,Beautiful Day,Ehere The Streets Have No Name, and my favorite, Sunday Bloody Sunday!
This was back when they were the greatest band in the world. My favorite songs by them are "All I Want Is You" and "With Or Without You." I love this song and She Moves In Mysterious Ways a ton too.
They have been making art for decades, including this decade, you just felt an eternal ray of light, imagine the sun. Their concerts are mind, body and soul blowing. Watch them live, any song, pure connection.
Love this band hope you continue to check out more of their music there's a lot of great recommendations in the comments section as always great reaction
My favourite song of all time, I have listened to this basically everyday (and often more than once per day) since it’s released. This song will be played at my funeral.
In the 80s my three sisters and I would go to this great club, where they would play massive hits extra loud with base! Those were the days.... Please react to ‘Alive and Kicking’ Simple Minds, it’s amazing.....You’ll love it! ✌🏻🙏🏼🤘🏼
Amazing group. Live version of Still haven’t found what I’m looking for is one of my favorites. Pride, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Beautiful Day, where the streets have no name, 40, Angel of Harlem, New Years Day, Mysterious Ways, Bad.
That is pretty much my favourite love song ever...that would have to play at my wedding. An awesome 'love gone wrong song' by them would be ' So Cruel ". Also, " All I Want Is You " ..." Angel of Harlem " ...a song about Billie Holliday. He and Edge also wrote " She's a Mystery To Me " that Roy Orbison sang on his last album right before he died. Bono also wrote ' One Shot Happy, One Shot of Sad " for Frank Sinatra but Frank died before he got a chance to sing it. Matt Dusk recorded it...Bono can really write some awesome stuff. The earliest song I heard by U2 up here in Canada was " I Will Follow "..came out in about 1983?
You nailed the interpretation of this song for me!! Yes, Super Toxic relationships can destroy you at your 'core' being!!! "You Ask me to enter...but then you make me Crawl!" And I Can't be holding on to what you got....when ALL you got is HURT!!!!!" (Whoa!.....SO Poignant! And yes, he has what I call a 'Cry' in his voice!)
This is a love song for the band as they were almost close to breaking up. "We're one, but we're not the same, we get to carry each other, carry each other."
If you have to start with "One", then does the next one have to be "Two Hearts Beat As One"? I'm kidding. The two U2 songs that I recommend the most are "New Years Day" and "Pride in the Name of Love". The latter is a song about Martin Luther King Jr.
Tons of deep songs from U2. The thinking mans band, but great hooks too. They started in the late 70’s when they were very young, and became the biggest band in the world during the 80’s and 90’s
Whether you like the whole buzz around Bono and U2 or not but they just have incredibly good songs. "One" goes even beyond that as it is truly a masterpiece. For me, it shows as to what humans are capable of in terms of globally unifying music that just stands out of the rest. It's so raw, honest, and heartfelt in its message. Really fantastic song and I'm not surprised that you resonate so much with it. 🌍
So happy you discovered U2, they are going strong from 1980. Thankful I got to see them live 9 times, but truly not enough. If you want more moving songs like One, you will love "All I want is You", "Every breaking Wave" "Drowning Man" " Bad" all powerful. Also very meaningful & powerful is "Bullet the Blue Sky" "Sunday Bloody Sunday" "Pride in the Name of Love" "Seconds" and "Mother's of the Disappeared" Soooo Many Outstanding Songs. Enjoy your ride & journey with U2.
U2 has so many greats song...Where the streets have no name.....I Still haven't found what Im looking for...… With or Without You are three songs I would suggest. All are amazing.
Everyone has already mentioned the big hit songs of theirs but if you want to go deep into their catalog here is some of their best stuff that didn't get released as a single. One Tree Hill, Bad, Until the End of the World, Running to Stand Still, A Sort of Homecoming, The Unforgettable Fire, All I Want is You, God Part II, and When Love Comes to Town (with B.B. King). Also there is another version of this song where Mary J. Blige sings with them that honestly makes this version sound like a demo.
"One" marked a return to form for U2. Mary J. Blige recorded a version of this song back in 2006 with U2 backing her up. She tore the roof off of the house when they performed it together at the Grammy's that year. Quick list of songs from U2 to check out: "Where The Streets Have No Name," "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," "New Year's Day," "Two Hearts Beat As One," "Bullet the Blue Sky (Rattle & Hum)"
This song is a masterpiece.
cookypuss / I agree, have you heard the version where U2 sing this together with Mary Jane Bligh?
@@kerrypapworth1526 I love the Mary J version she kills it but still love the original more.
100% AGREE WITH YOU cookypuss !!!!

Bono's perfect voice in a perfect song by a perfect band. U2 Forever.
U2 is my all time favorite bands..... " he's spewing knowledge" .... That's Bonos lyrical strength right there ❤️

“And I can’t keep holding on to what you got, when all you got is hurt” Bono
Philip A My favorite moment in the song
You asked me to enter, but then you made me crawl.
This is one of my all time favorite songs.
Sunday bloody Sunday. The early years. There's a couple of good live videos
SBS gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME!
U2 have some of the most amazing lyrics ever. I've seen people have already suggested some of their hits, I'd like to add Bullet the Blue Sky and the less known Exit, which still gives me goosebumps after so many years. BTW, I truly enjoyed your reaction :)
"Where the Streets Have No Name" is a must. It is one of U2's greatest!
One of the greatest songs of all time (in my humble opinion). My favorite U2 songs:

roundrockrock .
This song isn’t from the Joshua Tree album.
Amen
Or the massively underrated Zooropa or Pop. But yeah their prime years commercially were Joshua & Achtung
I love Red Hill Mining Town from The Joshua Tree...it evokes the nostalgia & decay of a once prosperous town, due to economic changes, Bono's powerful & emotive tones are perfect for the lyrics in this song.
& Acrobat from Achtung Baby is amazing & unusual in its rhythm
So many to choose from but favourite all time U2 song is Stay (Faraway, So Close) - reminds me of someone long gone from my life...
@@Pwwh0711 "Walk On" has the same effect for me. Someone preparing themselves for death
This is achung baby from 1991 when they peaked I was a freshman in high school when this album came out and everyone was going zoo tv (tour)crazy
You might also like U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name" and "New Year's Day."

Check out “Where the streets have no name”
An absolute must!!!
at best, the live version from Slane Castle!!
Most overplayed song in their entire catalog, IMO. But obviously opinions vary on that. ;-)

Such an amazing song. The live version of this song together with U2 & Mary Jane Bligh is incredible 💕💕
In the history of rock music - even if one hates U2 - one of the best ballads of all time.
I appreciate your reactions. You not just hearing the music but listening and feeling it. You get it.
Watching you is like seeing a kid opening presents on Christmas. Welcome to good music.

80's U2 is epic! Pride is my favorite. Bono's voice is unbelievable. Was wondering where the U2 was!
Add New Year’s Day to that list!
You nailed the interpretation of this song for me!! Yes, Super Toxic relationships can destroy you at your 'core' being!!!
"You Ask me to enter...but then you make me Crawl!"
And I Can't be holding on to what you got....when ALL you got is HURT!!!!!"
(Whoa!.....SO Poignant! And yes, he has what I call a 'Cry' in his voice!)
This is a love song for the band as they were almost close to breaking up.
"We're one, but we're not the same, we get to carry each other, carry each other."
He wrote it for his wife, because they were on the verge of a divorce because of how much he was focusing on the band.
If you have to start with "One", then does the next one have to be "Two Hearts Beat As One"? I'm kidding. The two U2 songs that I recommend the most are "New Years Day" and "Pride in the Name of Love". The latter is a song about Martin Luther King Jr.
Can't go wrong with Sunday Bloody Sunday either.
Otis Dylan Great one too!
The live version of Bad from Live Aid.
Always loved U2 from their beginning.
Soooo Many Outstanding Songs.
Enjoy your ride & journey with U2.
This song is all time-great. The whole album is amazing. Achtung Baby is a masterclass on how a musical act can reinvent itself.
Jay thank you for your reaction.I’m glad you like the song. U2 it’s always good for me. I think you’ll like a lot of their songs.😃👍🌼✌️

"We get to carry each other... sisters, brothers" great message to most of people
Bono is such an underrated songwriter. His lyrics are always so profound and deep!
With Or Without You and Sunday Bloody Sunday. Saw them live in Los Angeles early 80s. Bono was electrifying 🤩
U 2 that's a deep catalog .
Epic! Became one of the biggest anthems ever! Bono is a legend! ❤️✌️
Masterpiece 😮
Jay you’re special...keep doing you. Great selection and appreciation...
Also the Mary J blige version from the Nobel prize concert is amazing. Only she and U2 can pull off this song with so much emotion.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for sharing your reaction. I would listen to the entire Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby albums.
This song evolves a love/hurt song to a message of unity for a generation......beautiful
"One" marked a return to form for U2. Mary J. Blige recorded a version of this song back in 2006 with U2 backing her up. This ,and With or without you are my fave U2 tracks 😍
GREAT song that is known as "the song that saved the band"☘️....
I have two favourites bands: U2 and Soundgarden.
I can't choose between them.
Its A Beautiful Day, Gloria, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where the Streets Have no Name.....so many others, they are arguably the biggest band in the world.
