Personally, I think it's kinda gift from above... the charming sounds and incredibly deep lyrics.. guess none of us can create something like this without any help :D God bless 2U2
seconding that. Along with Sunday bloody sunday, and Sweetest Thing. Sunday bloody sunday was sung about the irish troubles massacre, and sweetest thing was a song for bono's wife when he forgot her birthday. a sweet little love song and video
Love the way you absorb every facet of this song. For those who are U2 lovers, it's a joy to bear witness to a younger person being captured by an amazing song.
Between Bono's distinctive voice and The Edge's distinctive guitar playing, you can usually tell a U2 song within a couple of seconds after it begins playing. From the mid-80s through the 90s, they were basically the biggest band in the world. They are still recording and touring today. Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where The Streets Have No Name and I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For are three more U2 classics.
They're story is great too. They were teenagers when they did their first album. Larry Mullins, the drummer was only 17. The lead singer had the nickname Bono Vox (latin for Good Voice) from when he was young. They didn't really know how to play songs -- so they just wrote their own! And they have been together, with the same line up since 1979.
I had the great luck to see U2 live in concert when they were first breaking through in the US [they're an Irish band]. Nobody really knew much about them except for maybe 2 or 3 songs. Saw them in a really small club. A couple drunks actually tried throwing beer bottles at Bono when he started singing... it was insane. Amazing show & the crowd was won over after about 5 minutes. Oh those crazy 80s.
Their performance of 'Bad' at Live Aid put them on the map and set them up to become legends. Their performance at Live Aid was second only to Queen's. That should tell you everything you need to know. My favourite song of theirs, though, has to be Where the Streets Have No Name.
Funny isn't, prior to Live Aid I'd been a fan (War, Under a Blood Red Sky) but I remember watching the U2 performance and being distinctly underwhelmed and thinking that Bono was a bit of a dick.
To think that when they were part of Band Aid, they were considered to be one of the smaller acts in comparison to the rest. But they went on to be bigger than probably all of them.
I still havent found what I’m looking for Where the streets have no name Pride (in the name of love) Sunday bloody sunday U2 have so many awesome songs
80s singer CYNDI LAUPER... "I'm gonna be strong" "Time after Time" " I drove all night" Would anyone else like Jovaughn to react to her amazing voice..........I think he will love her!
Many have no idea Blue Angel before she was Cyndi Lauper nails a song and shows the true power of her voice like no other Cyndi Lauper album I'm Gonna Be Strong - Blue Angel ua-cam.com/video/WfrxGMtLTyA/v-deo.html #yourwelcome🤝
A classic U2 song to do is “Where the Streets Have No Name”. Great video shot on a rooftop in downtown L.A. - it caused urban mayhem for authorities and joy for lots of rockers caught by a sudden outbreak of live rock!! Fun to watch.
PLEASE react to U2 and BB King "When Love Comes to Town" such an amazing combination of talent. U2 also did "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" but watch the version he did with the choir from Harlem singing backup.. gives me chills.
I remember seeing BB King open two nights in a row for U2 in Phoenix for Rattle and Hum, never really listened to BB King much before but he had 55000 people singing with him. Drove up for the two days to see U2 having no idea BB King was the opening act. Loved every second of it.
I have this song on my playlist that I listen to at night. Jay, you've been reacting to some fabulous songs over the last couple of days. I've enjoyed it all. Take care and be well. Peace.
U2 has been my favorite band since 1983. With or Without You is without a doubt one of their best songs. The Joshua Tree is incandescent from start to finish. The Unforgettable Fire and War are their best albums, IMHO. Their album All That You Can’t Leave Behind literally saved my life. I was diagnosed with cancer about 6 months after it came out in 2001. I listened to it every time I had chemo. One of their best live performances is their half-time show for the 2002 Super Bowl. They did one of the most cathartic memorials to those lost on 9/11.
YES! PLEASE DO MORE U2! My personal favorite by them is Gloria, I also think you should check out their performance of Bad at Live Aid. Killer. Keep up the good work!
Gloria is one my favorite songs. Anything from Live at Red Rocks. That VHS😂 showing my age but was at a house party and it was playing. I was immediately hooked..forever!
I'll never forget the first time I heard U2. It was Gloria. Blown away. SO MANY GREAT SONGS. Two Hearts Beat as One. New Years Day. Sunday Bloody Sunday. Pride. Desire. Beautiful Day. Best band ever.
Love this album, Where the Streets Have no Name, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking for. Probably the two best known songs from this album. You could play any song from this one and everyone is a winner in my opinion.
“I Will Follow” is one of my favorites. I have the same reaction every time. Loved your response to this fab song. Google the “U2 March”...those were the days!
U2 is one of those bands that have an instantly recognizable sound, thanks to the Edge's guitar work, and of course Bono's vocals. I can't wait to see you react to more. A lot of great choices in the comments already, but I'd like to recommend Where the Streets Have to Name (the music video is exhilarating) and She Moves in Mysterious Ways.
This song being released in 1987 is just a timeless classic. My brother that was just 2 older than me that passed over three years ago got me hooked on U2. The Joshua Tree is a timeless example of great music.
Im 43 years old and i remember when i was about 8 or 10 and my fabulous mother with immaculate musical taste turned me on to U2. Their sound always made me feel so free. Like I'm standing in a big field with rolling green hills. Or like i imagine a forrest in New Zealand would look like.
There is a reason this band was one of the biggest bands on the planet, and it is excellent songs. Never heard a bad song from them. My favourite: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.
I have listened to U2 since I was 12 and they were the new band from Ireland on college radio before regular mainstream played them. I used to beg to stay out of Church Sunday nights to hear them. I drove 8 hours from Nashville to Chi Town to see them lol. If you want to start from the beginning, do "New Year's Day", "Seconds" or "Sunday Bloody Sunday". 11 O'Clock Tick Tock is another from that early 80s new wave period. "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" is gorgeous and was written for his Dad. There is a huge amount of U2 to delve into. They're great artists.
Great reaction I love this song. You’re always fun to watch. Still haven’t found what I’m looking for is a great song and Sunday bloody Sunday. thank you so much for sharing with us.❤️😃👍✌️🌼Love and peace
I can’t imagine what it must be like to hear that for the first time. It’s such an amazing tune, and definitely a classic! I live about a mile away from the drummer, and used to serve him and his mom every Sunday in a local hotel. This is U2 at their best, but they were amazing for a very long time. Check out ‘Boy’, ‘New Years day and the Unforgettable Flre too. They had their studio, Windmill Lane, in Dublin’s docklands and in the 80s and 90s , people from all over the world would visit, and some would cry when they saw it.
U2 still one of the biggest bands in the world, for a reason. so so many great tunes. As someone else said Bad especially a live version , miss Sarajevo , Please, Pride (in the name of love) the list just goes on and on and on. you have entered a rabbit hole.
Awesome band...lucky enough to see them live in the 90s in their prime, massive sold out stadium with a million watt sound system, just blew us away...if you get a chance watch a young Bono and U2 doing Sunday Bloody Sunday live at Wembley...will give you goose bumps the crowd interaction.
Hi Jayvee, you really express your feelings well listening to music. I think all of us who react to your reaction feel through you, we hear & feel songs for the first time again, as you hear for the your first time. Pride/In the Name of Love was one of my favourites from when I purchased the vinyl album back as a 19 year old in 1984. Enjoyed that, thanks very much, Tony
U2 - Where do I begin? This is one great band. One piece of advice: Their early stuff is better than their later stuff. This song was off of their 1987 album “Joshua Tree”. A masterful piece of work. Here are 3 initial suggestions- “Pride - In the Name of Love” which is dedicated to Martin Luther King, Jr., then the wildly acclaimed “Where the Streets Have No Name” - watch the official video atop a warehouse in downtown LA, then “Bad”. Bono’s vocals on this song will blow you away. Great band!
Wow now what a great band nice Jay. There song beautiful day is so powerful. Not one bad song a day they have been going for years Love them. Nice one. 😊😊💕💖💕
U2, my favorite band of my life. I was a kid when With or Without You played on my radio and from then on, I'm a fervent fan. Perfection of lyrics, melody, instruments, atmosphere and Bono's voice, of course. Eternal love.
Their Super Bowl halftime show considered one of the best, if not the best one. Lots of songs to react to from them! “When Love Comes to Town” with BB King (who asked Bono how he wrote such a great song at his young age), “Kite”, “Gone”, “Mysterious Ways”, “ Angel of Harlem”...others will have some to recommend. He’s been married to his high school sweetheart since they graduated.
U2 is one of my favorite bands of the 80s! Bono’s voice is amazing and he seems like an amazing human being! I’d love to meet him and thank him and the whole band for many years of awesome music!!❤️❤️
At the "Live Aid" concert U2 performed. They weren't a really well-known band, universally. However, during the performance, Bono looked down and saw a young woman who was being pushed up against the stage by the crowd. Afraid she would be harmed, Bono gave notice to the other band members, who continued to play the music. Bono jumped down, alerted security and then pulled the woman up out of the crowd. He made sure she was okay, then put his arms around her and they started dancing. When she assured him she was okay, he got back up on stage and continued their performance.
It's great for us that know these songs so well because we know exactly which part of the song will make you go "wow". It's fun as we wait for that moment in the song, and then it happens and you stop the video and comment on it! Great channel...thanks!!
The Joshua Tree album is a masterpiece! An almost flawless piece of art that is timeless.
fact
Personally, I think it's kinda gift from above... the charming sounds and incredibly deep lyrics.. guess none of us can create something like this without any help :D God bless 2U2
Agreed.
I learned guitar with this album. Just on an acoustic, obviously really simple, but boy was I a hit at parties.... Simple but effective....
‘Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’ is another classic/essential U2 song, from this same album as this song
Yes !🎶" Still Haven't found what I'm Looking For " 🎶 'video' 😎
seconding that. Along with Sunday bloody sunday, and Sweetest Thing. Sunday bloody sunday was sung about the irish troubles massacre, and sweetest thing was a song for bono's wife when he forgot her birthday. a sweet little love song and video
I Still Haven’t Found Why I’m Looking For...the live version with the gospel choir from the concert film Rattle and Hum...definitely!!
ua-cam.com/video/LZRxYrByiXA/v-deo.html This is the live version
sometimesboy totally agree. That’s the version I’d recommend.
The Edge with his infinite guitar. Rare song with tremendous slow burn groove and drama, dynamics.
Absolutely. The infinite guitar has always been what makes this song for me.
I like the way you put it in your comment 👍🏻
Bro i dream to be a guitarist like him
I've heard this song 800,000 times and I still close my eyes and get goose flesh! Every. Time.
They have such an iconic sound. When you hearThe intro to any of their songs you know it’s them.
Love the way you absorb every facet of this song. For those who are U2 lovers, it's a joy to bear witness to a younger person being captured by an amazing song.
Our generation were lucky buggers.
Thanks Larr WT for telling it the way it is! 👏🏽🐵💕
I’d venture to say 1984 to 2009.
I saw them live for the first time a few years ago and they didn't play this song even though the crowd was begging for it. We were peeved lol
They had just done the Joshua Tree tour the year before so that's probably why they didn't play it when I saw them.
Larry Mullen is the best musician in the band..
You can feel his heartache.
After all these years they still hold my heart..
Myleen Lujan Me too, still love their songs🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
"His song seeps through you if that makes sense." Yes, yes it does.
YES, Yes it does!
You nailed that description, Jay
They're story is great too. They were teenagers when they did their first album. Larry Mullins, the drummer was only 17. The lead singer had the nickname Bono Vox (latin for Good Voice) from when he was young. They didn't really know how to play songs -- so they just wrote their own! And they have been together, with the same line up since 1979.
My favorites are "New Year's Day" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday" but they have a lot of great songs. They are known for being a great live band.
From the album WAR
yeah saw them twice in the 90's. really good live.
Bloody Sunday
Sunday Bloody Sunday is a masterpiece!
Christy Christina so jealous!
Christy Christina
Nice story, i saw them do an outdoors gig at The Botanic Gardens, Belfast, as part of the Popmart world tour. It blew me away. 🙂
I saw them as unknowns supporting Talking Heads about 1980.
I saw their War Tour at a small venue in PA from about the 8th row. One of my favorite concerts.
Music Man I was there too!
Their performance of 'Bad' at Live Aid put them on the map and set them up to become legends. Their performance at Live Aid was second only to Queen's. That should tell you everything you need to know.
My favourite song of theirs, though, has to be Where the Streets Have No Name.
It was exciting to watch!!
Funny isn't, prior to Live Aid I'd been a fan (War, Under a Blood Red Sky) but I remember watching the U2 performance and being distinctly underwhelmed and thinking that Bono was a bit of a dick.
Live at red rocks powerful
To think that when they were part of Band Aid, they were considered to be one of the smaller acts in comparison to the rest. But they went on to be bigger than probably all of them.
but have to review Streets live.
I still havent found what I’m looking for
Where the streets have no name
Pride (in the name of love)
Sunday bloody sunday
U2 have so many awesome songs
Yes! Pride! Thanks 🙏🏽 forgot about that one for a minute.
Somebody 👋🏽 Slap me! Lol
New years'day too
U2 are the kind of band that make you wish you could write just one song as good as one of theirs. Awesome collection of brilliance.
Ive been a U2 fan for 35 years
Their breakout hit was Sunday Bloody Sunday. You need to hear it.
The anthem of The Troubles’. Heartbreaking song.
80s singer CYNDI LAUPER... "I'm gonna be strong" "Time after Time" " I drove all night" Would anyone else like Jovaughn to react to her amazing voice..........I think he will love her!
And reaction to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!! LOL
Yes but as Bridgette said girls just wanna have fun....one of my themes as a teen....but love time after time
I LOVE CYNDI !! I think she is AWESOME !! Unusual and BEAUTIFUL VOICE !!!
@@caroljordan6130 She also sings the saddest song ever written, "Sally's Pigeons".
Many have no idea Blue Angel before she was Cyndi Lauper nails a song and shows the true power of her voice like no other Cyndi Lauper album
I'm Gonna Be Strong - Blue Angel

A classic U2 song to do is “Where the Streets Have No Name”. Great video shot on a rooftop in downtown L.A. - it caused urban mayhem for authorities and joy for lots of rockers caught by a sudden outbreak of live rock!! Fun to watch.
So nice to see young people discovering these great classic rock bands!
Still don’t get why young people are not being brought up with older music from their parents. I was.
Love Love this song. I remember when I'd hear it on the radio. Joshua Tree Album is their best! 👍🙋♀️
PLEASE react to U2 and BB King "When Love Comes to Town" such an amazing combination of talent. U2 also did "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" but watch the version he did with the choir from Harlem singing backup.. gives me chills.
From rattle and hum, for those who want to find it.
Mary P - MY FAVORITE!!
Paul Queripel - yes, that’s my favorite version of it. Powerful!
I remember seeing BB King open two nights in a row for U2 in Phoenix for Rattle and Hum, never really listened to BB King much before but he had 55000 people singing with him. Drove up for the two days to see U2 having no idea BB King was the opening act. Loved every second of it.
thinking about it might have been joshua tree tour but they mentioned they were filming for Rattle and Hum.
U2 rock. always have
Pride (in the name of love) is their best, in my opinion. It's about Martin Luther King. The vocal is amazing.
Definitely one of their best!! 💖
For me it's 2nd only to Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For! 3rd is this one! U2 is an AWESOME group! I respect them so much!
Ms Tee Yes! My favorite as well.
It's my favourite too.
I have this song on my playlist that I listen to at night. Jay, you've been reacting to some fabulous songs over the last couple of days. I've enjoyed it all. Take care and be well. Peace.

Ultimate U2 classic! The range of Bono's voice comes on full display here. The band as a whole is just soo tight. More U2, please.
Thanks.
Hmmm 🤔 “Gloria” Somehow, I missed that one. That’s my Mama’s name, Ima listen to it, Thanks for enlightening me. 😻
I'll never forget the first time I heard U2. It was Gloria. Blown away. SO MANY GREAT SONGS. Two Hearts Beat as One. New Years Day. Sunday Bloody Sunday. Pride. Desire. Beautiful Day. Best band ever.
Absolutely LOVE U2!! THE BEST BAND EVER!! BRINGS BACK MANY MEMORIES ❤️❤️❤️❤️❣️❣️❣️❣️ Thank you for a great upload Jay!! 😊😊😊
My favorite band. They always seem to have songs that coincide with what's going on in my life--besides their artistry, humanity & coolness!
Well said, Bono is a deeply spiritual person...and the band has such a distinct sound.
Spent college years listening to U2...never stopped. Bono does have a haunting Vox!
Love this album, Where the Streets Have no Name, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking for. Probably the two best known songs from this album. You could play any song from this one and everyone is a winner in my opinion.
Probably the most iconic song for their sound on the Joshua Tree Album. A must in every playlist!
“I Will Follow” is one of my favorites. I have the same reaction every time. Loved your response to this fab song. Google the “U2 March”...those were the days!
"All I Want Is You" is my favourite U2 song.
Thanks for this.. it's been way too long since I listened to U2. It's great to actually see the emotion in your face as you experience them.
You’re my fav ‘reaction’ person. Love your style bro.
I love the older U2 songs! This is one of their best!💜💜
Check out some new ones. Magnificent, Red Flag Day, Every Breaking Wave, Cedars of Lebanon, No line on The Horizon, Summer of Love, The Troubles…
This song is one of my favorite of all time! ❤
An iconic group. You can't go wrong with this band and lead singer.
This song being released in 1987 is just a timeless classic. My brother that was just 2 older than me that passed over three years ago got me hooked on U2. The Joshua Tree is a timeless example of great music.
One of the best 80s songs ever! Tremendous vocal performance.watch the performance of it live from rattle and hum
I'd so love to discover this song again, to experience listening to it for the first time all over again! Powerful and perfect.
Im 43 years old and i remember when i was about 8 or 10 and my fabulous mother with immaculate musical taste turned me on to U2. Their sound always made me feel so free. Like I'm standing in a big field with rolling green hills. Or like i imagine a forrest in New Zealand would look like.
Their '80s albums War, The Unforgettable Fire, and The Joshua Tree are my favorite U2.
Live at red rocks is also brilliant
Love this song saw them.live in1987 in my home town of cork Ireland 🇮🇪 the Joshua tree tour
U2, listen to their "New Years Day" one of their earliest and their best
56music The entire WAR album is amazing!
First U2 song I heard back in what? 85? and have loved them ever since.
They go back to at least 1983. Check out their song Gloria. It's raw U2 emotion and The Edge had his signature sound even back then.
There is a reason this band was one of the biggest bands on the planet, and it is excellent songs. Never heard a bad song from them. My favourite: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.
One of U2's many "Legendary Songs." Great, great song.
Seeing your reaction was so enjoyable. Thanks so much for sharing!
OMG Jay you will absolutely LOVE New Years Day...Sooo right up your alley
I love it when you play my oldies. Aww...the great memories. Ty!
Love that you reacted to this song! My fave U2 song!
❤❤
Great reaction I love this song. You’re always fun to watch. Still haven’t found what I’m looking for is a great song and Sunday bloody Sunday. thank you so much for sharing with us.❤️😃👍✌️🌼Love and peace
Amazing performance. And the tone of The Edge's guitar, wow!
Always remember the first time I heard this in 87...Blew me away..I was a fan of the band two years before...
Monster hit... Like so many of their. Huge band. They ruled the airwaves for so long. 💜😎🎧👍
Sunday Bloody Sunday!!! The next reaction!!!❤️❤️❤️
I can’t imagine what it must be like to hear that for the first time. It’s such an amazing tune, and definitely a classic! I live about a mile away from the drummer, and used to serve him and his mom every Sunday in a local hotel. This is U2 at their best, but they were amazing for a very long time. They had their studio, Windmill Lane, in Dublin’s docklands and in the 80s and 90s , people from all over the world would visit, and some would cry when they saw it.
Sunday, Bloody Sunday is another masterpiece, and very political.
U2 still one of the biggest bands in the world, for a reason. so so many great tunes. As someone else said Bad especially a live version , miss Sarajevo , Please, Pride (in the name of love) the list just goes on and on and on. you have entered a rabbit hole.
Oh my favorite U2 song. Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For my other favorite. Thanks made my day.
My hands are tied

There's nothing left to lose
Love, Love, Love U2
Anything you play of theirs is amazing.
Seeing them in concert (and I have many many times) is a spiritual experience. Truly Divine and sublime.
It's a Beautiful Day. I listened to it every morning on the beach on holiday in the Dominican Republic. I play that song and I'm right back there.
They had me at the first song I herd on the radio! Still get the chills... 😊
Irish have such an ability to sing with haunting beauty....
In Concert U2 is amazing. They are gifted beyond reason.
This is one of my favorite songs ever! You just feel it in your soul!
Yes, U2 is one of the best bands & Bono is loaded with talent!
U2 - Where do I begin? This is one great band. One piece of advice: Their early stuff is better than their later stuff. This song was off of their 1987 album “Joshua Tree”. A masterful piece of work.

(Pride) in the Name of Love, and Where the Streets Have No Name always get me pumped! The Sweetest Thing is great, too!
My husband got me started with U2 and they are one of my favorites!
My favorite band. I teared up actually watching someone hear it for the first time. Wonderful. Try their song, Running to Stand Still. 💙
This was my first exposure to U2 as a kid. I just remember this video was everywhere, was number 1 in New Zealand.
U2, my favorite band of my life. I was a kid when With or Without You played on my radio and from then on, I'm a fervent fan. Perfection of lyrics, melody, instruments, atmosphere and Bono's voice, of course. Eternal love.
Thank you for give us a incredible reaction!
Joshua Tree album. Masterpiece, timeless.
U2 live concerts are what you need...some of the best art in history...

With or without you is not just one of my favourite U2 songs but one of my favourite songs of all time.
One of the best songs ever. Such an amazing band!
Yes, U2 is so awesome. A lot of great songs. This is my favorite
It's like telling your mate to listen to a song, and watching their face as they love it. 👌
It's great for us that know these songs so well because we know exactly which part of the song will make you go "wow". It's fun as we wait for that moment in the song, and then it happens and you stop the video and comment on it! Great channel...thanks!!
You are in for a treat working your way through U2's back catalogue of superb tracks.
Hi Jayvee! This how songs sound when they are coming from the heart. U2 has been one of my favorites of all time. THX Man!
This song is a classic for a reason. Thanks for opening new eyes to the talents of Bono and the guys of U2.
