I'm serious about my gear, I cannot risk injury or death. Your info is appreciated. My M.O.S. designation is primarily janitorial services on the USS John Mcain. I operate in many different theaters but my favorite is when I get to watch the TEAM guys walk by the mess Hall. They ask for my tactical expertise often. And with the knowledge I get from you I get to school em up. Thanks🤓
I don't actually care for any of this gear because I don't need any of it, but I keep watching your videos because of the jokes and the knowledge transfer.
I prefer a flame retardant Hot Pink fish net while out in the sand box. Cool factor +69 points. Paired w/ crye precision G strings I'm nearly unstoppable. Not to mention the breath ability, excellent.
For those who happens to live in Europe and want a cheaper alternative to something like Crye, Patagonia and Arc'teryx I recommend to look at Clawgear Body Armour Shirt Mk-III which is made out of 60% modacryl flame- Retardant/fire-Resistant fabric in the torso area. PFG (Potomac) Advanced Combat Shirt Gen II is made out of a flame-retardant/fire-resistant fabric as well.. Personally I switch between the Crye G3 and the UBACS Mk.III from Bulldog Tactical .. The UBACS (Under Body Armour Combat Shirt) is dirt cheap and perfect for training and exercise..
I'm in the Air Force so I'm not quite as badass as a cosplayer, however I am worried about my pen exploding. Is there an ink, and possibly pizza sauce resistant combat shirt you would recommend? Jk, man. I have huge respect for my winged brethren.
Don't be afraid to wear a pocket protector. I personally get higher quality pens that contain the ink when it explodes so it doesn't get all over my sleeve.
FOXTR0T1 I’m in the Navy and our combat shirts are issued (not the NWU’s). So I don’t understand a lot of the military duty references. Do other branches get to wear custom gear?
As I am now too damn old to grab a ruck and go for a 12 mile walk, I just turned 64, I still use my combat shirts when riding my Harley, never too old for that. Don't get me wrong, I still have my battle rattle and yes it does still fit, sort of, I just don't get the chills like I used to when I wear it. I do however wear the shirts when I go hunting. Sitting in a deer stand in Florida even in November can get a little warm. Keeps me from sweating like the pigs I hunt and feels great when we do get a random breeze.
I did a month at BAMC in SA TX in the mid-80s in the burn unit as an anesthesiology resident. 100 degree F operating rooms. The only skin graft source was the scalp on these 19 year olds that got burned in a tent in Central/South America? Damn. We saw civilians and military with horrific 3rd degree burns. In many cases from every day things. Like putting gasoline in a hot lawn mower. I did that a thousand times as a kid mowing lawns for some spending money. Lightning strikes. Very pernicious as the outward appearance of the damage covered the horrible life-threatening tissue damage under the skin. Ladders that hit power lines. Ceiling fans that decided to seize up in the middle of the night, overheat the electric motor windings and drop onto the bed. The worst was people who came in relatively pain free. Alert and oriented. That we all knew weren’t going to survive. And telling them to say their goodbyes in the next 24-48 hours max, I was active duty from 1984 - 1991. An incredibly lucky time for a military medical officer. I went to Germany during Desert Storm and there were hardly any casualties in that war. My Dad flew ~ 105 mission over North Vietnam in 1968-69. He was a real warrior. Dodged the SAMs. And came home. I still think you’re an MD that went to USUHS or the HPSC program like I did? Maybe you tried it and went a different direction. It’s cool no matter what. I can understand it. Believe me. It’s just a gut instinct. Your early videos and occasional choice of words seem like a bit of a “tell”. Thanks for the videos. They are much appreciated. Godspeed GT MM
Actually, I do find this something to consider. When hunting I find a light to medium canvas outer layer best to sling carry and this also works best when the kids and I try to practice our version of tactical moves , canvas still seems best to keep the sling from hanging up.

great videos I just found the first video of his yesterday and knew right away that he was at least ex military or a ex specops just by the way he talks and acts very professional.......love the videos and Thank you for your survive and protecting my freedom.

The answer? british MTP PCS UBACS. They're flame resistant and all that jazz but you can get them surplus in almost new or totally new condition for around 30 euro credits. The coolmax fabric used in the middle is the best, it just doesn't want to sweat. besides i find MTP to be slightly more aesthetic than multicam. As far as nasty neck infections, i find the classical russian army solution to be pretty satisfactory: just sow a silk band on the inside of your collar. You can thank me later.
one, crye catches on fire for sure, I was using a quickie saw and lit some old crye pants(with frays) on fire. two the high collar with the Combat top keeps brass out, 3 the high should be worn popped because you will look cool. 4 the Combat top is better then a field top but the field top the fabric keeps the hit brass from burning the piss out of you in the house or flat range. good video brother
I was actually looking for a shirt especially for Airsoft. Your video allowed me to figure out what I needed to look for online to find a quality shirt for that purpose.
Great video, it's interesting that you put airsoft manufacturer into comparison, in the region where I live, FFI or other airsoft manufacturer's product are more like a cheaper substitute since not everyone is willing to spend 200 dollar or more on combat apparel. By the way, I know some people despise airsoft, but in my country, law abiding citizens can't possess firearms, airsoft guns are the closest we can get when it comes to training.
Thank you👍. This was very helpful. I’ve decided to go with the Crye g3 so it won’t melt to my skin whenever I accidentally spill the filling from my Totino’s pizza rolls that my mom prepared for me. Those things get piping hot
Thanks, Sir, for the Information and Intelligence ( I2) on the Combat Shirts. I AM Prior Service USMC and US Army ( 1987-1998), and, obviously, We were not issued these High-Speed, Low- Drag Shirts. At 50 going on 51, I have been blessed with an OD Green, MultiCam and OCP, Desert MARPAT and Woodland Camouflage M-81 BDU Combat Shirts. I wear them under a OD Green or Black T- Shirt. Thanks Again for the video.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🗽🔫
As a clarification on the Comment I Myself made on the video on Combat Shirts, the OD Green, Black and Sand - colored T- Shirts are worn under the Combat Shirts ( MultiCam/OCP, OD Green, Arid MultiCam, Woodland Camouflage M-81) , not over them.🇺🇸🦅🗽🔪🗡️⚔️💣🔥💥💀☠️
I use propper everything. Shirts ACU coats and pants. It's cheap and lasts a fucking long time. Has inserts for knee pads and elbow pads. It uses ripstop material in case you do get a rip you only need to sew a small part. Lots of large pockets for space. For $150 I got 3 pants 3 shirts and 2 ACU coats all in multicam (yes actual multicam). It's a great cheap way to get brand new quality gear for dirt cheap. They also make pants that are great for EDC. In regular colors. And cheap boonie hats which I'm a huge fan of.
I've been fortunate enough to have been given (and surplus bought) some massif army issue combat shirts, absolutely beautiful training with my gear in the az sun.
I was in the Army till Nov 99 and I remember some air crews had nomex BDU's. We just had the green as M1A1 crewmen. Does anyone know why nomex is not used in standard combat uniforms? Seems like the best protection against flash, etc. Awesome vids.
took nephew who is in the army with me to buy gear that works.got a tru-spec made with cordura baselayer.comfortable even in AZ.summer which gets into the triple digits.
I’d add the New Balance. The padded top wicks well but affords a slight amount of additional protection when you’re wearing a plate carrier. The New Balance Combat shirt also has a zipper tab similar to the Patagonia.
I'm a bit more knowledgeable then most on combat shirts actually which is what grabbed my attention to this video. I find the video informative to your mostly air soft viewers. The rest of us who are gear junkies (for real gear) or have an actual need for the properties of the garments are left in the dark a little bit. For example the in depth material properties were left out such as how well it was going to hold up to fade and wear, if certain environmental factor are likely change the performance of the fabric, is the fabric noisy etc... Could just be me looking for the hard to find information. Over all a informative and entertaining video that keeps one engaged.
Synthetic fabrics are more flame resistant than cotton or or linen, especially when treated or made with special fibers. Polyester is especially flame-retardant and slow to ignite, ; that's why professional cook clothes are made from it (plus, it's cheap). Flame-resistant curtains are also made from polyester. Wool is a good natural flame-resistant fabric.
I find these to be good workout shirts at the gym. They are very breathable and tapered to make you look better. The zip-up collar helps when doing shoulder and squats when resting the bar on your neck.
You can use these shirts in a winter environmeent, but you have to layer appriately. ie thermal as a base layer, then the shirt. But, you have to pick which layer will stay. I usually went with thermal shirt as it always stayed on, as your outer layer has enough pockets to cope with the needed carrying ability.
Feel like these shirts that are a solid color and fr would be great from welding. The built in elbow pads and the knee pads in the pants would be amazing to have
I have always found when I fast rope from the space shuttle gun doors is that the thinner breathable materiel's will abrade on the rope and wear prematurely.
I prefer a massif shirt they have the flame resistant and they are super conferrable, plus if they work for the military they will work for a civilian doing run and gun training.
I am an Airsofter, but, there are things that still would make more sense to do. Cosplaying,or Reconstructing for example, is about the precision that we can do in the cosplay, but when you think of it there's more. Don't think that I am trying to put myself or anyone around me into the "In Duty circle",that'd be dumb. But I would still rather have the option not to have a melted uniform because of,for example a camp fire or some of out pyros. It is needless to say that EmersonGear dies in 3 to 5 months depending on how often you play. In between Airsoft gear and Milgrade or all of the cool stuff there's a huge difference apart the melt resistance, the quality does matter in Airsoft too, even tho many of you service guys laugh at us,and for a reason,I don't tend to like switching my uniform every 3 month, that's a huge deal or order a uniform online and wait until in arrives to Israel, fuck that,I'd rather wear Crye and have it for years, like I have my Navy Desert uniform,I use it for 4 years and it gets me though everything like a champ. Thanks for the video and well,I'm new to this channel, but I understand that you're a serviceman,so I think that a thank you will fit in,even tho I'm not American. Good luck there!
Honestly I think thermal tops, BDUs, or other non-cotton tops work just fine. Hell I like running rock and roll/heavy metal band shirts as part of my personal espirit de corps.
Which C.S. "SHOULD you buy"... As opposed to which one CAN YOU AFFORD. I am sure most people have "champagne tastes, but are on beer budget" ... "Crye" would be nice, alas I don't feel like mortgaging my house to get one. Very happy with "Propper" and "Tactical Performance"
Tru-Spec makes a nice combat shirt, both in standard and short sleeve versions. I chose short sleeve, because if I'm wearing a combat shirt it's probably going to be hot enough to warrant short sleeves.

I have the cheap 5.11. Planning on getting their top end shit later, not privi to infinite money like some.
I have always found when I fast rope from the space shuttle gun doors is that the thinner breathable materiel's will abrade on the rope and wear prematurely.
Since it wasn't in the video, may I ask where the Massif made Combat shirt would rank with you ?
Enjoy the Artic :) watch out for polar bears/Russian Mall Ninjas. I would be interested in your take on cold weather gear, specifically coats.
I had a dyslexic moment thought this said combat shorts and I just had to click on it
You should do one of these "which should you buy" on plate carriers & chest rigs
I don't wear a combat shirt because I'm not tacticool enough.
In between Airsoft gear and Milgrade or all of the cool stuff there's a huge difference apart the melt resistance,
the quality does matter in Airsoft too, even tho many of you service guys laugh at us,and for a reason,I don't tend to like switching my uniform every 3 month, that's a huge deal or order a uniform online and wait until in arrives to Israel, fuck that,I'd rather wear Crye and have it for years, like I have my Navy Desert uniform,I use it for 4 years and it gets me though everything like a champ.
Thanks for the video and well,I'm new to this channel, but I understand that you're a serviceman,so I think that a thank you will fit in,even tho I'm not American.
Good luck there!
Appreciate the comments. Thanks for the support - love my Airsofters who watch my channel.
Garand Thumb Thank you :)
"If you're gonna be cos-playing your favorite SEAL"...I died!
That was more informative than I ever imagined thank you for the info.
Do the military still wear issue jockstrap during training???
Honestly I think thermal tops, BDUs, or other non-cotton tops work just fine. Hell I like running rock and roll/heavy metal band shirts as part of my personal espirit de corps.
This is the first video of yours I've watched very high quality video and great information. I'm going to sub to this great channel.
Wool hunting shirts (camo) Won’t melt to your skin. Keeps you cool yet warm when wet.
Honestly think you should review the airsoft LBX, It's LBT's sister company that makes apparel specifically for Airsoft use.
"Because you think you're MARSOC or whatever" love the savagery
“Your favorite cartoon character from a video game.”
I love this guy XD
