The Best Co-Angler Tackle Bag and What to Put In It

- As a #Tournament #Co-Angler for several years, I have experimented with many tackle bags, backpacks, etc. There is nothing more challenging to a co-angler than to figure out how to bring as much tackle as you possibly can in the smallest space. In this video I show you everything I take with me in my tackle bag for a successful day of tournament fishing as a co-angler. I have learned to whittle stuff down, and condense as much tackle as possible. I prefer to have a bag small enough to fit in the boat compartment behind the seat. Most backpacks simply won't fit. After years of experimentation, I have settled on this great bag from Flambeau called the AZ6. It is a superb bag in so many ways. It is small, but has tons of storage options. It has a hard waterproof bottom, it is cleverly designed, it really is just about perfect for my needs. Unfortunately, the new AZ6 bag has changed some and consequently has lost some of it's best features, so I do not recommend the new AZ6 bag. But, if you can find a used version I would snap it up. My new alternative bag is the EGO Fishing Tackle Box Bag. It is nearly perfect in it's own right and has many features that I look for as a co-angler.

I used that first cabelas bag when I was homeless. It was great for a co angler now not so much. I am a veteran and I noticed your hoodie so sir, TYFYS
Why would use the smaller one "sometimes". My ProBass backpack fits everything including my Planoboxes, lunch, water, rain gear, and other gear. When I walk down to the boat I have a backpack on my back and rods in hand. I don't swap my gear to a different bag " sometimes" Too much chance something gets forgotten. Plus, the bag fits in the boats storage lying down no problem allowing me access to my boxes.
Bro left out the LFS but goodness this is actual good information for once. I subbed but I wish you’d post the links to literally everything you recommended because I can’t find it.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Great info! And love the hat! Thanks
Good video!! I fished 2 years as a co and 2 as a boater in the BFL Cowboy division. My first few boaters were surprised that I had never done it, I was organized! I told them I knew what ticked me off with other people in my boat and I was not going to be that guy! I took a year off (2020!) and am back in starting January 2nd. Thanks for the well planned out video. I like a bag that fits under me if the boater does not have room. I think in 10-11 times I may have had an empty compartment 3 times. No biggee, just keep your stuff together. Good luck to you this upcoming year.
Thanks Eddie. I totally agree! It's great to be organized and have one simple bag that does it all. Hope to see you on the water someday.
Thanks. Great points, not only for coanglers, but for those of us who fish out of a kayak, where space is at a premium.
True! It would make a great Kayak Bag. I also found another bag about this size that I think would be great for backpacks. Should be posting it in a few days.
A mags hat good shit become more and more of a fan with every video I see its not over brother 2024
Thanks for the support!!
11:24 turn in your man card....a protection mask for riding in a boat.
I’ve been fishing coangler for about 20 years and tackle organization has always been a struggle. This is a great setup you have come up with.
You’ve got more co-angler experience than me, but I have been doing it for about 10 years and feel that less is more. It does bite you every now and then, but carrying the kitchen sink as a co-angler is a bad idea. Thanks for your comment.
I have qualified for 2 BASS NATION National Championships as a Co Angler . Good advice. I use a backpack it work great and fits in all the back compartment on boats . I carry 6-7 rods. I started with that BIG bag too lol that was miserable carrying all that weight!!
Love the video. I have always used snow goggles, but the Mack idea is awesome. I have been struggling with the gear and rod selection since moving to Texas from Missouri. I use a backpack and separate worm file. May look at smaller bags like yours and smaller boxes
Glad it helped. Thanks
thank you sir
Great video!
Thanks so much. I appreciate it.
Thanks so much. I appreciate it.
Thanks so much. I appreciate it. That’s a nice fish in your profile picture.
4:37 are you seriously complaining about carrying a couple bags, a life vest, a lunch bag and a few fishing rods.
Great info sir. I am fishing my first year as a CO in the BFL. In planning my organization, what size/type of boat do most BFL boaters use? Glass/tin...
There seems to be a pretty good variety, but alot of guys are fishing the full size fiberglass boats too. I have found that there is a fine art to making sure you bring enough tackle, but don't bring too much. Good luck in the BFLs!
LOVE THIS VIDEO.....THANKS........i cant find the green AZ6's :(
What bag is comparable ........
Thanks for watching and the comment. I know that bag is hard to find now. Flambeau does make what they call a Pro-Angler bag now that looks decent buy I have not tried it. For the money, the only other bag I have tried that I really like a lot is the Bass Pro Shops Advanced Anglers II Tackle Bag. It’s green. It’s a very good bag and comes in a lot of different sizes. You can also buy it with boxes if you need them.
@@MrBassTV I FINALLY GOT ONE ..... THANK U
Decent video but the only reason you're getting my sub is because of that hat
Did you go to the school for wayward boys and girls on the Hudson? Lol. Just starting a channel. Love your content.
Good luck with it! Thanks for watching.
Less is more until you need more....and don't have it...
Hello there do you have any idea where can i buy this bag, cause its un Available now on amazon.please help.thank you.or can u recommend same bag like this design.much appreciate it if you have some ideas.thank you very much. From abu dhabi UAE...
No. It’s discontinued. Maybe on eBay
What is the HUK rain gear you had in this video?
I can’t remember to tell the truth. I bought it a few years ago because I wanted a compact packable rain suit. I only use it for tournaments when I am a coangler because it packs so small. I use a full blown rain suit (bibs), most of the time
Great video! I want to start Co-Angling next year and this will help a lot. Keep up the good content. #CHIEFSKINGDOM
You can do it! Good luck!
