Thanks for the review on this backpack and the others. Very informative and detailed. I went with this one and just received it. They are back in stock as of 7/24/21 for anyone interested.
Don’t leave it in any wet grass or sand. Can’t hose of the bottom and it will get fish guts on bottom if your a pier, bridge or jetty fisherman. Could duck tape the bottom so the cloth doesn’t rip or get wet over time.
Can we get a moment of silence for my favorite spinner bait that broke off my line today and flew into the sun. It was a good one while it lasted. I pulled with 20 pound of force on that line and it never came off then my first cast it came off
In it’s remembrance I would like to know what brand what size shape form and color I will buy one and always remember this post hopefully the one I get will get the same burial as yours when it’s time is up😜😂🇺🇸
I actually bought this backpack because of this review. I've owned it for a year and it has withstood the test of time. Absolutely an awesome backpack.👍👍
This is a great looking bag. Tackle Junky just finished doing an ultimate tackle bag series and this is the bag he used. It's impressive how much tackle he was able to stuff into it. I really like those laser cut molle loops. Seems like you can do a lot more with them than the traditional molle straps most bags use.
Great to hear. It is a very impressive bag for sure. I will be posting a video on the EGO Fishing tackle box bag and one of their waterproof dry bags too very soon.
Thanks for the review. Any chance you might consider doing a review on the flambeau angler’s backpack? Curious about your thoughts on it in comparison to some of the backpacks that you regard highly.
Great review! You can tell by the flag placement they(most likely) pay attention to details, due to the placement and orientation of the american flag. On the left side it will be orientated correctly ( where I think that's where they added the detail) and on the right side the flag will be orientated backwards. It is to show, charging into battle. As a veteran that detail means a good bit to me.
I am trying to decide between the backpack version and the bag version. For the backpack, couple questions: I plan on trying to pack lighter, size wise is the backpack too large? Will it work while partially filled? Also, what I like about the bag versus backpack is places to externally attached things to the upper portion (lower portion not practical). Have you found places to attach with the backpack?
Have you seen the System G, Dax backpack tackle bag yet or the one made by Simms? Thank you for all the reviews so far by the way. I appreciate what you're doing
@@MrBassTV a little more expensive than the others for sure, but apparently they have a lifetime warranty. Im still in the market looking for the perfect rugged waterproof one. Cliff fishing (jagged rocks and occasional rain showers)
It's really a matter of personal preference. I have four buddies that are all co-anglers. We fish a lot of tournaments together and everyone of us has a different opinion on what makes the best co-angler bag. I like small bags the best. Here is a video of my favorite co-angler bag. ua-cam.com/video/v_rVKtgerDI/v-deo.html
Great review Mr. Bass but I'll stick with my Rodeel backpack. Dual shoulder straps, two rod holders, water bottle holder, carries 4 3600 size boxes, plenty of room at the top for plastics, and a pocket on top of that for glasses, etc. I think I paid around $70 on Amazon. Time will tell if I got what I paid for. ✌🏻🎣
Mr. Bass, you are the only one who does these awesome reviews so I'm hoping you can help! There doesn't really seem to be a backpack that has everything I need so I don't know if you can recommend something or maybe there's a multi-solution available? I love the Wild River Nomad, but it doesn't have any rod holders which are a huge necessity for me; same with no water bottle holder which isn't that big of a deal but would be really nice. One of the things I like the most about it is how rigid the bottom compartment is that holds your tackle and just how well made it feels - something else I need which is separate compartments for tackle and other things. Nothing seems to have rod-holders, a water bottle holder, a hard sunglasses holder and a rigid bottom compartment unless I'm just missing it. Do you have any suggestions? And sorry for the long question.
You are right David. Trying to come up with a bag that does all of that is going to be very tough. If the rod holders are an absolute for you, then you are going to have to compromise on some of the other features you want. I think most guys who are buying big expensive bags like the Nomad, just aren't really carrying rods on their back and they guys who do use rod holders are mostly bank fishermen and don't really need tons of storage. The Kast King, Flambeau Ritual Ike, Lunkerhunt LTS all have rod holders, but they don't really compare to the Nomad in size. The closest one I have looked at that also has two rod holders is the Bassdash 3670. It has alot of features, is about the same size and the Nomad and is a well built bag. Hope that helps.
I think the Ego bag is better than the Shimano bag for sure, but the Shimano is very good also. As far as zippers go, I do agree that Shimano zippers are probably a little better.
Nice looking bag. A little pricey tho. Something I wish would come standard. Is a hard bottom. To keep things square and upright. Something I don't like is the flaps on bags. I prefer zipper or at least velcro. Walking through wooded areas. Spiders get into the open pouches.
@@MrBassTV well more bugs and dirt than in general. I pond hop a lot. Or according to last night's lake and pond question. I lake hop. Ive walked around some really big ponds. Get in a lot of brush and weed's.
Always go with a waterproof Bag. It rains in Florida Every afternoon and my tackle used to get wet. No feet or nonskid bottom. It would fly off my boat. The zippers might rust . I love standing on top of my boxes while sight casting. There are only 2 boxes for me to use. And you can’t see your tackle trys (without pulling them all out) and That’s sucks. This is a camping or overnight bag. The trys aren’t waterproof and there are no drain holes in bottom of bag.
I usually carry a separate dry bag for essentials that can't get wet. Tackle Bags are rarely waterproof. Some come with rain flys that help, but waterproof is very difficult to find. The few truly waterproof bags don't have pockets or organization options which is why most companies don't make completely waterproof bags. I do have a couple of videos of completely waterproof bags on the channel you may want to check out. Thanks!!
@@MrBassTV Didn’t think of that! Was looking at this Plano Guide Series 3700XL Tackle Bag....... Wow this one is for storage!!🤣🤣🤣 You should check it out! Still leaning towards the Flambeau!
@Mr Bass Just sharing this in case it helps anyone; I really liked this bag but was torn because I wanted dedicated bottle and rod holders. I was able to find solutions for both utilizing the available molle connections. I'm not sure if am allowed to post links here but if you search "molle fishing rod holder", "fishing rod holster", or "fishing rod belt holder" you will see several different options. I selected a black rigid rod holder for the base that clips on the molle, and added two velcro loops above. There are a million water bottle holders so you can easily find one you like. I found a black 32oz bottle holder that laces right into the molle.
Thanks for sharing! You make a great point about the Molly loops. We used Molly loops for all kinds of attachments when I was in the army and they work great. That’s an awesome saying about this pack. It’s very customizable if you get creative and think about ways to use the Molly loops.

I like the Ego a little better

It’s definitely water resistant, but I don’t think they claim its 100% waterproof.

Is it available without the American flag on the side?
My guess is no, the US flag is stitched onto the bag.
You should do a question on this on Saturday.
Idk if you will see this comment but do you think it can hold a 3700 googan squad box?
It will definitely hold 3700 size boxes if you remove the shelf/divider.
