Indeed! They made a Ed Wood type of film with this remake. Hollywood doesn't know what the hell it's doing with remakes and such! Sometimes I wonder if we're better off without entertainment or advanced technology.
+Darius Mazaheri I do too, though I think if Hollywood could learn how to use this advanced technology (i.e. producers actually talk to people through it instead of relying on stale ideas and focus groups that keep saying the same thing and let film makers break more of the stiffling Hollywood molds) it'd be worth it.
Apparently, that's actually what it was originally intended to be, but it got re-cut by the studio who wanted it to be more serious. Which made Cage's acting style look wildly out of place. He was directed as if it were a dark comedy, which is what he delivered. They really got screwed over by the studio on this tbh.
Positively Dreadful I watched this only because it was one of the first films to release to blu ray-it’s one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen but it had me laughing harder than I did when I saw Carlin just before he passed away
Every so often, something comes along that makes me laugh so hard I cry - and still can't stop laughing for like 2-3 minutes after it's done. This is one of those things. God bless you, Jason Sly. This is the most hilarious thing I have seen in months.
Oh my god, wonderful. It's amazing how a different soundtrack and clever editing can totally change what we're seeing. Timing the bear punch and "Step away from the Bike!" with the "Walking on Sunshine" line was genius timing. If they'd actually filmed it this way, it might have been a great film. :)
i've never laughed this hard in a long fucking time omg i love this that shit is fucking funny haha especially when he's tumbling down and you put the audio from when he was getting stung omfg gold, just gold
I think I said this the first time I saw this but I'm gonna say it again. The Wicker Man's remake is the most misunderstood movie in history. It is simply one of the greatest, most brilliant comedies ever made.
if he's allergic, then why does he gets of the bike and runs through this field full of bees. However this scene, with the "not the bees!" audio played over it, was the funniest thing i've seen in a while, i was in tears, thanks for that
referenced the wicker man to a friend today and the memory of this video popped into my head. had to come back and watch for old times sake - such a great video always cracks me up
I've seen a lot of funny videos on UA-cam, but this is the only one guaranteed to make me laugh whenever and wherever I am. The bit where he's rolling down the hill gets me every time. Jason, you're a genius!
Classic. I watched this last night, the only thing funnier than the movie is the comments about it. After watching, I discovered there is 2 versions. I watched the one not with the bees!
Simply FANTASTIC work! Best laugh I've had all week and the scary thing is that this WORKS so well for this film. Still laughing so hard... utterly wonderful job! I'd have seen THIS movie in the cinema!!!
That was perfection. If this really was a comedy I would have gone to see it! It sounds as if it would have made a good comedy. This has to be the best video I have seen on UA-cam for ages.
So glad neither WB nor the music studios have taken this down after all these years.
Possibly, they are saying "Sure! Laugh it up! Go ahead! We know we screwed up!"
This is extremely well done. I laughed out loud at this!
Yep definitely
oh hell nawwwhwhwhwhhwhehwe
This is basically the trailer they should've shown if they wanted good reviews.
Nicolas please never change. EVER
I’ve seen this parody trailer so many times and it still makes me laugh. So perfect. 😂
This would have worked so well as a comedy.

It WAS a comedy lol
@@strahinjagovmy bf told me Nicholas Cage horror movies are pretty much always comedy horror 😂
Apparently, that's actually what it was originally intended to be, but it got re-cut by the studio who wanted it to be more serious. Which made Cage's acting style look wildly out of place. He was directed as if it were a dark comedy, which is what he delivered. They really got screwed over by the studio on this tbh.
that clip of him rolling down the hill screaming "the bees!" gets me every time XD
While I know of it, I've never seen The Wicker Man, so I'd like to let you know this trailer is COMPLETELY convincing.
Positively Dreadful I watched this only because it was one of the first films to release to blu ray-it’s one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen but it had me laughing harder than I did when I saw Carlin just before he passed away
"Every time I turn my head there's something that doesn't make sense."
-Cut to bear costume
XD perfect
ending of this trailer = best ending to anything, ever
Watching this in 2021 and it's still the champ. Definitely needs a remaster though.
It's always funny when Cage overacts
Congratulations sir, you win the internet.
Step away from the bike!
I'm surprised this hasn't cracked a million views yet.
I still think back to this trailer from time to time. Too funny 🤣
Ha, that really made my day, I'm glad it still is enjoyed this many years later!
Every so often, something comes along that makes me laugh so hard I cry - and still can't stop laughing for like 2-3 minutes after it's done. This is one of those things. God bless you, Jason Sly. This is the most hilarious thing I have seen in months.

This is the hardest I've laughed in a long time. Brilliant xD
-Me every time I watch this movie
i've never laughed this hard in a long fucking time omg i love this that shit is fucking funny haha especially when he's tumbling down and you put the audio from when he was getting stung omfg gold, just gold
+tomhulcelover This shit never gets old.
Robert James right??? I'm revisiting it right now its great
+tomhulcelover and now I am lmao
Hahahaha! The end is the best thing I've ever seen!
Oh god, this trailer kills me every time! Pure comedy gold!
Now THIS would've been pretty good.
Perfect, absolutely perfect. The part where he just nods and walks off in the bear suit was priceless.
"But he's about to find out ..."
*scratch*
"... that honey isn't always so sweet ..."
I have to say this is a very convincing trailer and I have seen the movie. Yet still this was much more entertaining video than the film itself.
Rob Schneider is a carrot
Rated pg13
Rob Shcneider is a STAPLER!
I’ve watched this dozens of times over the last decade and a half, and I still laugh out loud every time I see it 😂
*My theory is that if you add Katrina And The Waves "Walking On Sunshine" to any horror movie trailer, then yes, it will indeed look like a comedy!*
jasonhale1011 hmm... I'll see what I can do, since I'm starting a production company myself
jasonhale1011
And then you could also add “Best Day Ever”
Someone try this with the opening to Scream.
It's the year 2020. This is still funny.
I think I said this the first time I saw this but I'm gonna say it again. The Wicker Man's remake is the most misunderstood movie in history. It is simply one of the greatest, most brilliant comedies ever made.
Set a reminder on my phone to watch this every year
Imagine my disappointment after finding out this was, in fact, not a comedy.
I mean it kind of still is.
I would have seen this
oh i have...
Would you now?
"step away. from the bike."
thank you for including that, I lol'd literally when that happened in the movie.
I DIE laughing every time he rolls down the hill with the bees dub.
if he's allergic, then why does he gets of the bike and runs through this field full of bees. However this scene, with the "not the bees!" audio played over it, was the funniest thing i've seen in a while, i was in tears, thanks for that
An RT Forum classic...man has it been that long.
*insert aging Matt Damon gif*
referenced the wicker man to a friend today and the memory of this video popped into my head. had to come back and watch for old times sake - such a great video always cracks me up
where's the fight scene where he's fighting off all the women?
Now this is how you take a terrible horror remake and turn it into a proper comedy trailer by taking some of its hilariously infamous moments.
This is genius
While intended to be a thriller, it's one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time.
"Step away from the bike!" xD lmao
oh my God, this is perfect.
Seems legit
+cardog kitchen love your profile picture I fell 4 it
1:55 had me laughing til I CRIED! The way the "not the bees!" yell was edited in was HILARIOUS! Well done!!!
This literally seems like a comedy. I'm dying! This is so funny :)
The wicker man comedy trailer: *shows the normal trailer*
I always crack up at the not the bees part. Thank you for making this!
dude, this is seriously way better than the movie and if they re-did it as a comedy i would see it. nice job!
I've seen a lot of funny videos on UA-cam, but this is the only one guaranteed to make me laugh whenever and wherever I am. The bit where he's rolling down the hill gets me every time. Jason, you're a genius!
this movie is a "horror" movie?
It is a horror drama with dark comedy overtones.
it's horrible
great job mate
brilliant! that bit about the bike is hilarious - step away from the bike and in seconds he's peddling away like fury haha
3 years since I first saw this, and it remains my favorite comedy spoof trailer yet.
SO, so amazing.
WHY WASN'T THE MOVIE LIKE T-H-I-S?!!!
If ever I'm feeling a little down, I click on this clip and it reminds me the world couldn't be any more perfect.
i've watched this so many times before, but i still crack up every time!! love it!
One of my favorite "WORST" movies of all time!
This movie is a horrible horror movie, but it’s a hilariously awesome comedy!
NO NOT THE BEES!!!!!! With Walking On Sunshine in the background was just too funny
Scary part is, this makes the movie look like solid gold material.
HOW'D IT GET BURNED?!
Idk lol XD 😂😂😂😂
LOL! Hilarious! I hate this movie so much.
Absolutely dead on, and awesome. I can't stop watching this.
Thats really funny, the music chagnes everything, and at the end where hes rolling down the hill and screaming, BESS! you put that in there perfectly!
Great cut :) Those punching and bee scenes never get old
what's incredible to me, is these slapstick moments have incredible comic timing.
This is one of the best parodies I've ever seen.
Thank you so much, from the bottom of my very soul, for finally making something out of this movie. It suddenly has a purpose.
I'm laughing so damn hard right now that I got tears in my eyes. Thank you!
BRILLIANCE - I had to put it in caps, just saw the remake and now this, great job
Completely hilarious. I didn't think "argh, not the bees!" could be made funnier, but you managed it. MOAR!
this and 'deadly prey' have to be the best unintentional comedy films ever made!
Best video I've watched for a long time on youtube man, grade-A work!
Absolutely terrific work here!
"A deadly bee weapon. Bees, my good."
A brilliant trailer. Just genious.
That is brilliant. It makes me laugh almost as much as I did when I saw Wicker Man at the theater.
I watched this nearly 10 years ago. I swear it looked HD back then.
Maybe our phones were smaller
THis vid still cracks me up till this day.
Genius. Mr Editor, you deserve an Oscar for this!!
frickin brilliant.
just watched the movie tonight... then saw this.
THIS is 100 times better!
nice work.
whoever put this together is a genius!
Hahaha. This is epic.
Pure genius, pure brilliance, pure EPICNESS.
Good job.
That was perfection. If this really was a comedy I would have gone to see it! It sounds as if it would have made a good comedy. This has to be the best video I have seen on UA-cam for ages.
this is a really brilliant edit
This is freakin AWESOME! Great job!
This video is incredible, great job.
I just watched the film an hour ago. This was so much better. Really well done!
OMFG this is a work of genius!
the editing and music in this trailer is actually brilliant
That was awesome, man. Great work.
I lost it starting at 1:55 and especially at 2:00, then laughed all the way to the end. Utterly hilarious work. I salute you.
I honestly cant breath!!!!! Best trailer EVER :D
Brilliant!! Great stuff...
What an amazing job ! Awesome trailer. It's so much better like that.
