I really enjoyed your journey to Cerro Gordo,it's an amazing place that needs to be saved. BRENT is an amazing person who has a beautiful passion for the history of the place...
Brent is the best! So real ,honest, and pure at heart! His passion goes beyond anyone's I've ever seen and deserves nothing but the best I wish him the best with his hotel I want to go there when he finishes it!
Tremors was filmed in the area of Lone Pine which is close by. My grandfather would drive up from Ridgecrest and worked on the movie set. I sure miss him!
Hey Brent is awesome to bring back life into a 150year ol mining ghost town. No longer empty its coming back to life with every item he can find and several people helpin him .Thank you for keeping your dreams alive .dedication to Brent for this work
Great video! Loved seeing Keeler and the old timer - bet she has some stories to tell. I volunteered in the town and can confirm that 1) Brent is a great dude - exactly the same as you see in the videos 2) The bunk house is definitely haunted - I stayed in what was known as the "haunted room" and there were a lot of unhappy spirits in there to say the least
One of my favorite places is Cerro Gordo! I will be making a return trip up there this summer. My all time favorite was when Brent hosted the metal detecting weekend, and I along with many other people, had the opportunity to camp out there. My camp spot was just above the bunk house. Thanks for the look into the town of Keeler as well. Looks like I might be making a stop there as well.
Imagine being able to find that film stock footage? Not for it's value sack. But to bring back to Cerro Gordo. Even find a way to regenerate the footage to play at the school house.
Nice to see the 60 series Landcruiser still running and you being kind to the old girl. Still got mine in the garage but rust got the roof 😞 I follow Brent but still enjoy other people doing the tour and sharing their experience of the ghost town.
probably not. I was a part of the original committee that put this incredible adventure together 25 years ago. I have done my "tour of duty" no sour grapes, more like a life time of memories. Keep me posted about more adventures coming up.@@norlanderadventurescruiser777
it was great you met Brent - his store and museum are truly awesome - he seems like a great guy with a fantastic mission for Cerro Gordo!n - hope you left a nice donation before you guys left for home!
Brian is interested in the preservation of Cerro Gordo. As part of his preservation efforts, Brian has open the town to tourism. Oddly except for a few visitors who stay during the night as well as tolerate the supernatural residents, most tourists visit during the day.
That riveted tank is most likely an accumulator - a pressurized air tank to help air drills maintain pressure while consuming air. Think of it like a capacitor in electrical circuits. Once they leave the mine, can be repurposed for anything imaginable.
Having visited Cerro Gordo, I saw the amazing real ghost town before Brent cluelessly overloaded ancient wiring and burned most of the structures. A crying video and his soliciting help allowed him to facilitate building a new version for tourists to visit. He's a great self promoter who destroyed most of the original Cerro Gordo ghost town. Some of us have difficulty forgiving him for that.
I find it very depressing ,"it's only original once" l used to really appreciate how the place was not messed with ,l have a picture of the American hotel. When the couple that had it before they didn't modify hardly anything, now nothing hasn't been dug up,burned down ,updated etc. I'll just remember it as it was

@@barbaragravely920 you can't bring it back.they burned down the hotel.l don't think you have a recollection of how it was before.the people who lived there previously ,maintained it in its original state. Be grateful someone like Brent got it. You know there were places like a Weed brand who wanted to buy the town when it was for sale. Imagine what they would have turned it into. I'm so grateful the town went to someone who truly cares about the history.
Thank you for watching, more fun and adventurous videos are coming, so stay tuned!
Cool experience! Brent's a peach. Shalom! Blessings in your travels!
Ghost towns are so fascinating!
Fantastic camera. Wow! Thanks for posting.

Brent is the real deal. No frills....he is truly just trying to make Cerro Gordo history known to us all.
I love Cerro Gordo and Brent. Seeing more of Keeler in this video, it reminds me of the town in the move Tremors.
Keeler is really underrated, lots of cool history, buildings and not to mention the resilient inhabitants

great vid the guy they were interviewing has a youtube channel lots of good stuff there also.
I'm planning on visiting in September. Can't wait to check it out!
Keeler, Lone Pine and Darwin are worth a visit while you are here.
Brent has gotta be one of the coolest guys on the planet, hope i get to meet him myself some day
The "No. 400" thing on legs with a hand crank was the fan for a blacksmiths forge.

I would think the Cerro Gordo site wasn't stripped of artifacts because the road is bad! Brent's dedication has kept the road open.
Elaine is my friend I’ve known since the 80s spent quite a bit of time in Keiller super cool you guys ran into her She is a true hippie
No way....she was so rad.
She seemed absolutely super cool! I’d love to spend a week there just listening to her stories 😁

Hello good Morning, hola, buenos días, Cerro gordo es un lugar que vale la pena salvar del olvido, saludos desde Puenteareas España
Hola! Thanks for watching!
The " meat grinder" is a forge blower for blowing air into a forge to get the forage hotter for the metal.
That would make sense since that building used to be the 'garage'.
Go to the 60 series so cool that you’re actually went up there
Love my Land Cruiser....I''ll be in Moab in April, so there will be a video of that.
I have a white one with a 12 HT in it and I love it as well
Just wow...
Brent is good people, i feel bad he's alone a lot thou.
Brents good. He's good 2 other guys to help him up there. Still .
Am intrigued that you are travelling in an old FJ62 Toyota Landcruiser. I didn't know that model was sold in USA
Was popular in the west, not so much in the east
I've followed Brent from the beginning and I don't recall him mentioning a mine collapse and men buried in it.
Check the video titled Exploring Cerro Gordo's most dangerous mine....

I agree
@ 23:23 The string from the lamp behind you is literally swaying in the wind while you're saying there's no wind.
Ghosts.
Blow your mind with knowledge! Nice!😂

They should restore that pool
When it gets hot out there, it would be nice to have!
Blower for a forge
it's a still....saw one just like it in Norway

When are you going to finish the Hotel ??
Brent is hopes to have it done soon!
Always wondered... What is the entrance to the right of the library for?
Good question, my guess is that is more dynamite storage
Any wordon how hes doing up there in the weather? Been a bit worried, havent seen anything.
I have not heard word, based on last years snow fall, I sure he prepared for this year.
Thanks. His post earlier this year wasnt encouraging on that score, though.
Sending best thoughtsfor sure. Thanks so much!
its a blacksmiths blower for a forge
Well the trucks are certainly not M37s, I have one. They appear to be WC-13s. I am in the MVPA but I am not an expert on that era.
Thanks...these old trucks interest me, but there is always so much to know about them.

The only problem with the owner is that he insists on keeping it so original..He could do so much more..!!!
So many other places have been changed, it's nice to have a place where one can step back in time.
That’s the whole appeal, he’s trying to maintain the valuable history.
