This is the one plane I've been dying to receive updates for. I used the addon and g3000 mod to make it playable but it still lacked a lot. Really glad they focused so much on it
You got the Boston accent down perfectly on the Lobstah! The Boston SIDs are all local flavor, often sports, and some make fun of the accent. I love airports like Boston which are not only on the ocean but also close to the city skyline. Makes for some amazing visuals as opposed to open flat land with a city off in the distance. Not to mention the beauty of Maine or Cape Cod after takeoff. Love the video and I so badly wanted this jet to work well at launch. It still has so many strengths but I’m really happy to see it getting some love. Very informative as always Emmanuel!
iirc the lack of flare is something in the actual plane, it doesn't flare all that much if at all bc of the trailing gear design or smth, it can take a beating
No apology needed - "Lobstah seven" is the correct pronunciation. Its the word "lobster" - which are often harvested from nearby waters - spoken in the traditional local accent. ATC humor!
It will switch automatically to the localizer and the ILS will come in, if you not only load the approach, but also activate the approach in the FMC after the last way point before the approach.
Great video, thanks, I have a query - the Cessna Citation Longitude features three rotary knobs (rotaries) underneath the central Garmin Touchscreen Controllers (GTCs) which are essential for various flight operations. As of the latest updates, there isn't direct keyboard shortcut functionality specifically for the rotary knobs on the GTCs.
One BIG question. How do you manage to hold the plane at centerline during takeoff (and landing) roll? Auto rudder? I have pedals as well, it doesn’t work, I’m all over the place.
Assuming you're already mindful/aware of how the wind affects your plane on the runway, then I bet you it would help to lower your pedal sensitivity substantially. Getting your sensitivity set based on "feel" is what you should go for - making changes leading to better controllability. But yeah, other than that just make sure you're not missing some basic understanding about how the wind affects your plane (weathervane effect in particular).
sounds like your over correcting, which is very easy to do on PC pedals, since they offer no resistance at all to the quite large leg muscles of an average person. try putting your feet in one spot and waiting a second, if your feet are constantly moving left and right on the pedals, the plane will do the same. there is a bit of a delay in the sim between what your controller does, and the aircraft reacting, makes a lot of people over correct non stop.
I'm using the pedals (accelerator and clutch) from my Logitec G27 Racing Wheel for steering this and other aircraft. But I must say it took me quite a lot of experimenting with the sensitivity settings within MSFS to get it working. And as said by others, very subtle inputs. I use my toes slightly pressing the pedals. I have no idea if this is relevant for other pedals, but this is my settings for the G27: RUDDER AXIS RIGHT (rev) - JOYSTICK L-AXIS Y (accelerator pedal) RUDDER AXIS LEFT (rev) - JOYSTICK SLIDER Y (clutch pedal) The sensitivity settings were as follows (same for both axis): SENSITIVITY- = 40% SENSITIVITY+ = -30% DEADZONE = 0% NEUTRAL = 60% EXTREMITY DEADZONE = 0% REACTIVITY = 100% One thing I always need do before I start rolling from a standstill is to move the pedals back and forth two or three times so the front landing wheel is forced into a neutral position. Sometimes it gets stuck in a turning position which can't be observed when looking at the front wheel in the external view. But this phenomena might be due to the G27.
Another great video!! Really appreciate how you go through all your flows. Seemed like you pitched up pretty high on takeoff. Is that normal? Thanks again for sharing your expertise!!
with full fuel, you can climb to FL410 initially and then stepclimb. Also depending on jetstream it might actually be more economical to stay lower to get more tailwind.
Unfortunately, on Series X the Longitude oscillates like crazy when it goes above FL320. Feels like you’re riding a jet ski. Got tired of it and haven’t used it since.
One of the very first aircraft I flew on release. Haven’t been back since. Looks mouthwatering. Wouldn’t the negative (below sea level) cabin pressure at takeoff be standard in jets like this that have tremendous climbing performance?
I was surprised when you set FL450 with full tanks. 😮 No way the real aircraft can do that. It would be great to know what FL the craft can do at what fuel levels.
@@A330Driver Thanks. That's both scary and awesome at the same time. I currently don't have any aircraft in the sim that can cruise so high (Darkstar doesn't count) so it would be exciting to use the Longitude that way.
Do you know how to imput the wind in the Garmin? Or maybe its not implemented yet.., also when i did a flight in logitude i noticed it predicts the fuel in a “measured” way as in live Fuel flow rate and not the “predicted” way. Cuz landing fuel and fuel at each waypoint is constantly changing. Wondering if theres a way to make it predicted so numbers are constant figures. Cheers for amazing vidoes 🍻
You need to join the beta or wait until it's released to public. Should be this month so if you're uncomfortable with betas just wait until it's out. Shouldn't be a long wait now.
A very comprehensive video - think you for your hard work. Just one question: there didn’t appear to be any ATC communication, ie. IFR clearance, Taxi clearance, Take-off clearance etc. am I missing something?
@@JohnMaxGriffin my biggest complaint about msfs is ATC. Don't really like vatsim. ATC is as much a part of flying as the airplane you'd think they'd make it better.
Hi Peter, there just is no good ATC addon available for any flightsim at the moment. Thus I prefered not to use any ATC at all since there were no controllers online on VATSIM at the time I wanted to record this or in the foreseeable future.
Great Video as always, I’m really looking forward to this releasing. I have question though please. I can’t find any information on whether the upgrade allows for holds, I really enjoy flying the Honda jet but can’t do holds on that. Is this something you can help with
@@A330Driver Thanks for the reply, that’s good news. Also thanks for doing the VATSIM series, with your help I have today completed (successfully) my first two flight in VATSIM 👍👍👏👏, I’ll send you a coffee soon but right now my nerves are in pieces and I need a couple of whiskey’s 😊
Is this the default Longitude in Delux version or any mod ? I have the delux version and everything updated, but my FMS on the longitude is different, also pax sign does not work
It’s the updated Longitude in the current MSFS Beta. Working Title completely rebuilt the avionics, systems and flight model. I’ve been flying it for a few weeks and it is awesome.
Flying that high at 450 does it mean you don’t need to report to the oceanic atc because basically there may be no aircraft except for this type capable to reach that altitude ?) like in Concorde )
Are you sure about that Igor? Do you have any docs to read up on this? It'd be new to me, though I definitely wouldn't say that it's not possible as I'm not that familiar with flying that high across the ocean.
Generally speaking there is no upper limit on oceanic airspace, for sure not over high seas. At or above FL55 is class A all the way up At 450 you woud be outside NAT HLA (north atl. High level airspace from 285 til 420) meaning you can fly without datalink mandate equip. FANS1/A (basically cpdlc and ads-c) as long as you have HF Nat Doc.007 is a "good" reading book lol Safe flights all, regards
As long as it’s controlled airspace, you still need ATC clearance. There are a lot more planes than you might think flying above FL400, I’ve worked numerous planes at FL510. Above FL410 you are above the RVSM stratum and need an additional 2000ft separation between aircraft. Only assignable altitudes above FL410 are in 2000 ft increments, FL430,FL450,FL470,FL490,FL510 etc.
Your stab should be around 3.0 to 2.3 for landing in the Longitude. (Depending on weight). You were at 0.3 so you sank like a turd just after the threshold. 🤣
@@A330Driver There are literally charts provided by Cessna for the Longitude that give you Trim settings for landing depending on weight and wind speed.

No need to apologize for LBSTA7 - you nailed it! Lobstah :)
😂
Yay, it was released today! I enjoyed it so much. Definitely one of the top private jets MSFS has to offer now.
Everything was going great till the flight got to the LOC. Everything after that turned into a episode of the show "Seconds from Disaster"
Was great to show what the plane can do. If you *should* do it is a different question of course 😂

Maybe this is a basic question, sorry in advance: Isn't Mach 0.8 = 458.4 knots at FL 400+? Why does it say 320 knots?

The Longitude is a powerful plane, you can expect some pretty high pitch angles indeed!
Good video. Concise and you cover a lot of great steps. One question: why did you hit TOGA button during your flight setup?
TOGA sets the flight director for wings level at the correct initial climb pitch.
As Collin says, it prepares the FD for takeoff mode and guidance.

I recorded at 2x, anything higher and the plane would act up. The rest was done in the editing software.
At 11:52 there is "HUD control" box. Does the Longitude have a working HUD, or is that "INOP"?
It's INOP at the moment unfortunately.
