I spent so much time in this plane when MSFS first came out. Just took it for a flight yesterday for the first time in months and it's fantastic now. Pretty cool that they added opening doors as well. Working Title and Asobo are spoiling us.
If you have the fuel sel switch in AUTO on the overhead, you don't need to flip the fuel tank selectors - it does it automatically when the difference becomes great enough to cause an effect.

I'm sitting here in the UK and its a beautiful, frosty and sunny afternoon. Just like it is in your sim for this flight. The lighting, shadows, and scenery just blow my mind every time. This is what beautiful, and amazing, and stunning looks like in a flight simulator. 😁*cough
It's always greatest when the weather outside actually matches what you have inside in your sim, isn't it?
Well, and of course when you're doing a flight to a warm water destination and end up landing, looking at the temps and it's 25 or 30 degrees outside! Even though it's just for a split second until I put off my jacket, it's a small moment of holiday feeling!

In one of your earlier videos, the go around I believe, I stated I hate the word "realistic" when it comes to flight sims. I prefer "more believable."
But on this occasion, looking out of my window, and even though its a different country, I have to say the shadows, and the lighting is about as realistic as a simulator can get. Still work to do. Always room for improvement. But fair play Asobo. You know what you're doing.
@@A330Driver Ha, I wish it would be matching reality. I live here in Switzerland in that area you fly to towards the end and it's not even remotelly accurate.
Especially not the frozen lake surfaces. These large lakes in Switzerland never freeze. The Vierwaldstättersee you fly over towards the end with the huge frozen/white surface has to my knowledge never frozen in recorded history. At least not in the last decades, and of course it's not also not frozen now.
The problem is that the sim just gets very rough data of snow coverage and then just covers EVERYTHING in snow. The mountains, the vallys, and worst: the lakes LOL.
So no matter how huge the water body is, the sim just complettely covers it in snow.
Flying in Switzerland in winter in the sim is such an unrealistic experience since it always looks like you are in Antarctica LOL.
This issue exists for many countries of course and is discussed a lot in the forums, but so far, they have not fixed it :/.
The light is something else of course. I agree that the light and atmosphere are very good usually.
This is by no means critisism on your video of course. It's great!
I just saw these comments and thought I might have to put a questionmark on the whole "actually matching" and "believable". ^^

Really nice video. I fly this plane a lot in MSFS-land, and love it! One question for you - why did you choose to have the terrain in absolute versus relative? I found that when flying at or below mountain heights, having relative terrain set was valuable for situational awareness, even though the yellow and amber terrain colors look much nicer! Safe flying, sir!
Nice idea to go to Pilatus facility with a TBM which is very much a contender to the pilatus pc-12 ! Seems TBM Will be able to show better Garmin display now !!!

Just watching this video a little late but, I just wanted to let you know that it is possible to set your default view to a different position, so that every time you reset the view or "center" it with a hot key, it will always return to where you set it. I think by default it's Shift-F10, but I modified all my default view positions to where I like them! Hope that helps.
Yeah, I haven't tried that way myself, but I've been using this method for a while:
Set a custom view Alt-Shift-number 1 to 9. Then you can copy that InitialXyz and initialPbh line out of the custom camera.cfg into the default camera.cfg.
This is the only way I know to make the new custom view act exactly like the default view so that it always resets to the new view with the reset view button.

You mentioned that your view resets. You can pre save different views that you can assign to hotkeys on your yoke.
thank you for the detailed explanation of the procedures, a lot of new things were discovered for me during the flight on the TBM930. What kind of mod is used to display the relief in the map and in the main flight display? I only display everything there in conventional monochromatic colors.
You can set fuel management to auto.
Can you please show your flight plan and all the way points would love to do this flight looks amazing, also how did you get your gps map to look like that, and how do you open the doors to this aircraft I’ve heard you can but doesn’t seem to happen for me no idea how I can open them ?
Voice alerts is complittley broken after udpate. You should hear Master caution sound and voice saying TAS System test ok when starting which was there before update, even parking brake should be audible.
Just saw this one last week, flew it twice now, also with 2 fellow simmers in multiplayer. Really good to learn! Tried to look up this approach but could only find real life videos approaching and landing RWY 06 , not RWY24. Probably winds are most of the time the other direction. Maybe will try the 737 here, but that slow speed and U turn approach? Hmm...
Would surely be an interesting one in a 737! An empty BBJ could probably do it, I wouldn't put my hands in the fire for a -900 at MLW
Could you do a video on setting up flight routes and procedures with the new avionics? I'm trying to learn, but I only find myself making routes that are unconnected messes.
Do you mean how to enter the routes into the systems or how to actually plan them? The latter I covered in a seperate video about flight planning which you can find with the search function on my channel.

Hi, I've been trying to replicate this flight on Xbox with the AAU Beta installed but I can't select any kind of departure from Samedan - the option in the FMS is greyed out, nor can I find any RNAV approaches - only visual or vector approaches. Am I doing something wrong or is this an Xbox/Beta limitation?
If you set the global vertical height in the main menu Camera settings does this over-ride the default cockpit settings? It could mean setting it each time for every aircraft I'd assume.

I hope someone sees my question after 4 months of this video. I am having trouble remaining in pattern. I know how to plan the inbound course the altitude and minutes. However after only one full circle the mode switches away from the holding. What if I need to circle for ten minutes for example? Shouldn't I be the one pushing the "exit the pattern" at my own will ?

Great video! I can see you use GSX, I’ve seen how great it looks with airliners, does it work with smaller aircraft? For example the guy comes to refuel your tbm with the truck and pistol, or goes up on a ladder for the pilatus or a Cessna, etc…? Can you tell please?
Doesn't really work well with small planes. It's made for airliners and to be honest, even there all it does it some buggy animations. The only reason I'm using it is for pushbacks, the rest... buggy as hell.
Your camera have a nice shake effect when adding power or touching down. It's an option in settings or an addon? Thanks.

Indeed no mod in use for the trees. All mods you see in here are the two airports, ORBX Samedan and Flylogic Buochs. The rest is default.

I'm pretty sure they will, they need to offer something for beginners as well. Half/half sounds very good to me, even though I'm sure it'll turn out more like something around two thirds one third, which would be totally fine for me as well.
737NG Driver I feel like all aircraft should be study level. You can always turn the realism settings off and play with a simple Xbox controller but if the realism isn't there then the Sims potential is wasted.
Is that bottom panel I believe the 630 garmin standard or is that the TDS sim one?
It's all default in this video. Only the airports and FSRealistic are in use here.
Noticed that they still haven't fixed the turboprop engine model. 5K plus hours behind a PT6 and if I had an engine that was this hot at low altitude there would definitely be a write up in the old logbook!

Having flown in arctic Canada for a little over a decade, I can tell you that having a frozen lake vs a thawed lake that is glassy water like in this video, is FAR easier not more difficult. Frozen lakes are no different than ground. Flying visually over glassy water (I have also flown seaplanes for a large portion of that) is VERY disorienting. It's like flying over a mirror, no way to judge your altitude visually.

I want to get rid of snow coverage texture… according to historic data, that lake got frozen in the 17th and 19th century. In msfs this happen every year from October to march, as soon as the first snowflake drops. Not because of constant low temperature below -10, but because of snow on nearby mountains…
Might be worth contacting Microsoft about the issue, not a lot I can say, other than that it looks great - be it realistic or not.
how to try the beta version of the avionics? i am a steam version player. (by the way TBM 930 is much more stable than the Vision Jet for my opinion.)

Hi! First, thank you, very useful video. But when I tried to replicate your steps, I noticed that my TBM lacks some options available y your video. In Utilities (fuel on board, aircraft weight, etc), are not available, and also in Flight Plan the Load Airways is in gray, etc Do you have a clue why this is happening? It’s normal procedure on pretty much any Garmin to takeoff in TO mode and then select a pitch mode. Also don’t forget to turn off the YD when landing😉

I'd expect so, at least the cockpit controls do seem to be there.
They prolly messed up the bindings for it in some update then, i read somewhere it was a bit convoluted to assign it, i believe peeps got it to work through throttle decrease command ?

Great video, can't wait to try this when it comes out of beta. Do you know whether or not Microsoft and/or Working Title will be implementing visual path "VPTH" in the synthetic vision system on board these panels? We are missing that one last thing that would bring these avionics packages very close to the actual Garmin Firmware/Software. I can't believe the realism we have today in MSFS, these are very exciting times to be a flight simmer. I even purchased a "butt kicker" which I mounted to the back of my chair that I use for flying, you can literally feel the engine RPM's and other vibrations, especially on the ground.
I don't think they plan to add this feature, but then again I'm not internally involved in any of their decision making so I can't give you a definite answer on this.

I understand you're to empty every mod from the Community folder that had to do with the three aircraft: TBM, Longitude and CJ4 to avoid conflicts.
I just got it from steam and it works fine. I had no other mods installed tho.

I guess this is only for PC - like most other things.
It is available on Xbox right now if you opt into the Beta.
Pretty much the only plane I use in the game, it’s brilliant fun especially in VR, however, the helicopters have taken me away from it - considerably more enjoyable than the planes.
I find this aircraft extremely unrealistic. Torque changes when flaps are moved
Where exactly do you see that change? Could you give me a timestamp? I just quickly crosschecked the takeoff but torque stayed constant during flap retraction.

The flight has to be programed in the plane ?..the world map flight plane I can't get to work
I never tried the world map flight planner, I always do it realistically and use the planes computers.
Learn to program the FMC onboard the aircraft. It will pay off when you learn it :)
