Nice comparison, I have the older version gwg-1000-1a3er for some years, and recently I purchased the GWG-B1000-3AER green version. It was a hard decision between this and the GWG-2000. But I agree, the GWG-1000-1A3ER is the best in term of the full lume indexes and legibility in the dark. But since this one and the GWG-2000 are very similar in functions, I decided to try the new Bluetooth version, where you can customize the menu and deactivate modes that you don't use. And the location indicator is better on this new one, assisted by the phone, just like on my cheaper GG-B100.
thanks I realy wanted to see the older yellow band no doubt I will have to by 2 becauue it is so so hard to choose 1, thats genius! The designer deserves a huge salary & pension!
I have had mine a few weeks now in the red colour after a software update in Casio it is now working correctly I have found that the buttle and keeper or now showing signs of scratches but you can not rap a G-Shock in cotton wool in is battery hungry if you use the map log

I do like the other models but they are simply different and I love how easy is to work with this model... Like I said the GWGB1000 is very different from the other older models and you would need the phone Casio app in order to get advantage of the functions this watch has to offer... Nice video of the comparison. I need to replace my protrek after 10 yrs as the screen has gone bad and the cost of replacement parts is coming equal to what Casio is giving me as a exchange value. So I am checking out G-Shock watches and have finalized the 3 shown in your video. I am leaning towards the gwg 1000 as it is big and heavy but I have seen quite a few videos on UA-cam reporting sticky buttons and moisture getting in. Was that a common problem with the gwg 1000 ? Also how good is the strap because my I wear my watch 24x7 365 days in a year and I just use 1 watch. My current protrek is a titanium band so never had to worry about breaking. How is the strap on the mud master models for constant wear.
I have never had problems with these straps honestly. I know they don't have other kind of straps unfortunately. You can always buy your watch and test it. Remember these straps are not very expensive like $40 to $50 on eBay so no worries if you need to buy a new one. I also made a video of how to change them and that's very easy. I love the buttons on the GWG1000. I don't care for the two newer models' button designs. I have the BO GWG1000 but I do have some gripes. Only the hands glow in the dark which is useless without the light. Setting up the alarm is dumb. With four buttons, you shouldn't be limited to the dial. The timer only can be set for one hour. All that could be ignored if not for the weight. I bought it to retire my GW-A1100 but I end up wearing that more since it's lighter.
