In Chinese, there is no inflection, so many of my Chinese students may write sentence such as " He like sports." "Last week, she go to the cinema." As a native English speaker, do you think the mistakes affect the your understanding of these sentences?

    Hi Adam.
8:11 "Those who, according to the latest polls, consider... sources, are nevertheless in the minority."
Since there is no comma between "those" and "who", "who...sources" is a defining clause. Why put a comma after "sources"?
I'm a little confused. Can you explain for me? Thank you very much.

    A question about dummy subject:
Part of a script from Lost:
    S: So how's the drink?
    J: It's good
    S: That wasn't a very strong reaction.
J: Well, it's not a very strong drink.
    My questions are:
    1) why is there "that" and not "it" in "That wasn't..." Couldn't I say: It wasn't a very strong reaction. ?
    2) why is there "it's" and not "that's" in "well, it's not a..." Couldn't I just say Well, that's not a very strong drink. ?
    What's the difference between it's and that's ?

Are there two meanings for the conjunction 'as well as'.
Some people are of the opinion that the verb agreement is determined by the subject 'before as well as' and some people are of the opinion that the verb agreement is determined by the subject 'after aswellas ' in a sentence with the conjunction as well as.
    For example
1)Sita aswellas her friends is going to the mall .
2)I as well as my friends are playing.
Please make it clear to me.
Further,I want to know whether verb agreements depends on the first person, 2nd person and 3rd person .
Please make it clear to me

    You need to work quickly
    ---------------------------------------------------
In above sentence - is 'to work' an infinitive ? If so what is the role played by infinitive - Subject, Subject Complement, Object, Adjective or Adverb ? Is infinitive modifying any word ?
    I believe :
    Subject : I
    Verb : Need
Object : Infinitive : to work
Adverb (modifying verb = need) : Quickly
Is above sentence breakdown correct ?
