Si Ferry Meets... Paddy McCourt

- This week Si sits down with one of Celtic’s most recent cult heroes, the technically gifted winger, Paddy McCourt.
Great laughs in this one as Paddy recounts his unorthodox professional career which led his pathway to the club he always supported as a boy in Glasgow. From injuries derailing his start in British Football with Rochdale to making the most of the social life back Derry and eventually the dream come true of ending up at Celtic Park.
Hilarious stories from inside the Celtic dressing room, team nights out and of course how he managed to develop as an important first team player after getting to grips with a new level of professional training! You’ll enjoy this one! - Спорт
Best player I've ever seen in league of Ireland
Absolute magic, could have played for anyone on his day 🍀🍀
The Derry Pele :) class
Just watched replays of some.of his goals . Don't see any players like that these days. Brilliant . Lovely guy into the bargain . (Rangers fan)
Also si played against you a few times most recently last season. Tidy player .
The Bogside Baggio, the Muff magician and the Derry Pele all rolled into one. Unreal natural ability. If he maximised his potential then I genuinely think he would have won Champions Leagues medal etc at the likes of Man utd or Barcelona.
Sounds like a great guy too.
Paddy was spot on with his Stephen Kenny prediction. Kenny took Dundalk to the Europa league and now he's got the Ireland job
What a player he was
Brillant Si, again pal. The Derry Pele was amazing to watch, old school player with a touch of class 😁
Great interview. I remember the game at Ibrox well. Paddy went through one on one in the second half right in front of the Broomloan. What a moment that could have been!
Most laid back fella about lol - scored a wonder goal for Northern Ireland at Windsor park one night - think he probably underachieved cause he had skill to burn but hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard as the saying goes .
Met him at rochdale as a young lad when he played alongside a few of my friends... always had time to chat after in the bar and glad to see him doing well.
superb interview, keep up the good work si
Huge respect for paddy picking Northern Ireland and coming from Derry which is not easy, great video
Class interview 👏🏻👏🏻👌🏽
Always wish we'd played paddy more, he really is a special talent,
Great interview! Great guy. Derry Pele 🍀
A Celtic cult hero. Class player 🇺🇸🏴🇮🇪
Best one yet!
The closest thing my generation seen like the old players. Class
Good stuff thanks.
Honest fella. Genius on the ball.
Loved him.
An amazing talent. Those 6 months at Rovers will live on forever.
Absolutely loved Paddy!
The best one yet what a laugh🤣🤣
Mad Paddy. Lol decent stories too 😂😂😂
wouldn't mind going for a few scoops with paddy, seems good craic...
Brutally honest about the struggles whatever your alliegance there's a lesson to be learned
The derry pele...........fuquin priveledge watching your fantastic ball skills and dribbling skills and goal scoring skills..............Paddybhoy.......Hail Hail
What a player man class
some player love the man
Av just thought of something..a might be the first scottish player to play in the same team as paddy a moved over here when a was 17 played wi Coleraine youth squad up front with him he was very quiet and shy not sure where he went next thing he pops up as a fking magician on the tele 😄
What a character.
The boy should have went and graced the world stage ,for what ever reason it never happened, such a shame
One of the best players i have seen but fitness wise let him down but was a player i was glad to see hail hail
Conor McGregor stealing McCourts patter "Shite The Bus" 😂🍀
If this guy had dedicated himself fitness wise, there is no telling what he would have achieved. The ball was tied to his foot.
Top bloke..
Great player
how good could he have been still got the best song ever coybig
Hi-Tec sneaks, unbelievable
Sum crack laa , paddy was one best dribblers ever played the game but injury prone as fk great interviews as always aim great stories!!
The guy could just ghost by players like they weren't there. Genius on the ball. When you have a talent like McCourt, as he said. Put a ball at his feet he will train for 5 hours. Why the insistence on training without the ball is a really strange one in football. Fitness over skills is why there aren't as many entertainers anymore. One player beats two men these days and it's wow look at that. It used to be every 5 mins with dribblers on the wing in every team.
Gotta flex he my cousin 🤣
What a player Pat was, his brief time at Rovers was a joy to watch.
I was pleased he made it at Celtic.
If his fitness was par with other professionals he could have played for Bacelona or Madrid
Don't sell McCourt 🍀
07:08 hahahahahahaha shite on the bus
Big lad
I'm a Rangers fan but some of that was funny as fuck. Simon does a good programme
Listening to this I can't help but think that some clubs should be looking after young players a lot better, how many careers are wasted because the young men aren't monitored?
Now it makes sense why he never played that much
God bless the Bogside baggio
"put more guys on their arse than Buckfast" :D:D
I wish Rangers could,ve signed Paddy ,played him out on left & right wing For sure Paddy had natural skill if only got see him in blue of Rangers .Game just don't have old school wingers Jimmy Johnston,Davie Cooper guys entertained Soon these guys got ball fans rose to feet in expectation .
👍🏻🍀🍀
What a king
The derry pele

His worst goal was a penalty
If only he was an athlete. Drinking culture, sad.
