- A quick tour around my 2001 Solid Bikes Killing Machine v2. Exquisitely crafted by Aaron Huff and his team in Sacramento CA. Slimmed down and refined from the v1, these featured machined head tubes and seat tubes (the latter being something nobody was doing at the time), along with the hot-rod stylized gussets with sword cut-out a very light for the time compared to the contemporary US made frames of the time. This is one of my favourites out of my collection!
Enjoy!

Nate Wassel frame!!
I don't think Nate ever rode a Solid Killing Machine or other Solid? I could be wrong. I know he rode a Rigid, momentarily a Citizen before getting a T1 Barcode. Thanks for watching!
Oh wow, that is beautiful. Is that original paint or restoration? Amazing looking either way. You didn't too many Solid frames out in the wild back then. My friend had the Duke frame but that's the only one I've seen in person. Will you be building that up or just keeping it as a frame? What a beauty!
Thanks! I restored it. It came to me bare with a greatly shortened seat post. The decals are all authentic though. Yes, Solids were very rare back in the day. With the craftsmanship and details, I regard Solids as the Paganis of the BMX world. T1s, Standards, Metals being Porsches/Ferraris/Lamborghinis. Not common but not rare. Special but not WOW! The Solids are WOW....and beautiful. That's the geek in me though! Haha!!
As for building then up, unfortunately, I don't have the time, space, money or wife for building bikes. And I find the frames on their own to be visually perfect. Bikes are cool but they're all about the individual's taste. What I find tasteful, you may think the opposite.
Thanks for watching and reaching out! 🙏
@@nowthatsmidschool hey and thanks for the read and reply, i appreciate it. I wanted to share a great article on Solid Bikes that i think you'd enjoy. Really in depth. I totally forgot that they made the "Wasp" frame and that they made those crazy huge cranks too. Hope you enjoy. Love your channel man! thebaybmx.blogspot.com/2011/06/history-of-solid-bikes.html?m=1
