When I was a kid, The Bee Gees were the butt of disco jokes. I grew up thinking disco was a joke and Barry's falsetto was funny because my influences told me to think that way. It turns out, as a late-30s adult, the Bee Gees have so many jams and I now realize how talented they were. Great vocalists, great instrumentalists, and they wrote songs for other artists, too, like "Islands in the Stream" for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.

When I grew up with this song, it was because my parents put in the 8-track of Saturday Night Fever and did house stuff while my 4 year old self "flew" around the living room as Christopher Reeves' Superman with a blanket as a cape and wearing Superman Underroos. :D

That is really sad that they were a joke for any reason they are the best Singers in the entire universe in my opinion.

Its 4.15am here in the UK 🇬🇧. When you said if you don’t like it you’ll be real and say so, I laughed out loud; hard. Thank God my house is 108 years old. Made of brick and stone. Walls so thick they’re sound proof or I would be apologising to my neighbours all weekend. Seriously, loved your reaction. Take care. Stay healthy and safe.

As a songwriter, Barry Gibb shares with John Lennon and Paul McCartney the record for consecutive Billboard Hot 100 number ones, each having six. In total, he has written or co-written sixteen Billboard Hot 100 number ones. Guinness World Records lists Gibb as the second most successful songwriter in history, behind Paul McCartney.

You can tell his Bro's helped him out as they sound Bee Gee ish, but still unique. Andy Gibb's HITS: (The Best) 1. I Just Want to Be Your Everything 2. (Love Is) Thicker Than Water" 3. I have watched many of their interviews/documentaries and the 3 still have their British accents.
I have been told, the accents are right down to the area they originally lived in Britain.
Not sure about Andy, the youngest, his accent may be more Australian; The family moved there at some point.
Oh by the way, they often sing LIVE with just one guitar and sound GREAT; they were never afraid of performing LIVE.
Watch the whole clip of that song in concert, they have the whole crowd JAMMING and DANCING.

The Bee Gees are forever talents, just timeless! Great songs, great lyrics, great voices and sexy as all get out!!! I have always loved the Bee Gees!!! and admired their will as kids to give the world such great music. I never, ever get tired of them. And with their disco songs, if they can't get you to start jammin, then you must be deaf! Bc i don't care where i'm at, if one of their disco songs come on, then like the song says "you shoukd be dancin" Their songs tug at you soul, heart and body. 💜❤❤

In March 1978, the Bee Gees held the top two positions on the US charts with "Night Fever" and "Stayin' Alive", the first time this had happened since the Beatles. On the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for 25 March 1978, three songs were in the top 3 were Gibb compositions, five songs in total written by the Gibbs were in the US top 10 at the same time: #1. "Night Fever", #2. "Stayin' Alive", #3. "Emotion" and #6. "Love Is Thicker Than Water", #9."If I Can't Have You". Not since April 1964, when the Beatles had all five of the top five American singles, had anyone else achieved this feat.

The Bee Gees had a number of hits in the 1960s that had a different sound altogether. Most of their 60s hits were melancholy tunes, and they did not sing in the falsetto voices you hear from the Disco Era. Some of their hits from the earlier period include "To Love Somebody," "Holiday," "I've Got to Get a Message to You," and "New York Mining Disaster 1941." All great songs.

I have to say... I loved Andy.. the youngest brother as a preteen.. he wasn't a Bee Gee proper. it was the older 3.. Barry, Robin and Maurice.. I'm old but i was in the single digits when I fell in love with Andy.. the baby.. My older sister was in love with the Osmond's.. She raised me on Donny.. yeah.. I like him.. but Andy Gibb was hot to me at 8 yrs old.. no gender issues here lol.. What I will say at 56 yrs old now... don't mess with any sibling harmonies.. The Bee Gee's.. amazing.. the Jackson's.. amazing,, the Osmond's amazing.. just incredible music.
