I'm excited for the game, its an "anti-shooter" where you work to gain scraps as a scav and not be a hero. The background of the developers comes from this as well, they worked on Killzone and others, its great to have that energy come back.
@@calvinfishermedia From an article talking about the studio on Gamepress; "Fun Dog Studios, an independent studio formed by key figures on the development of huge games like Horizon: Zero Dawn, DOOM Eternal, Killzone, Hawken, The Witcher 3, Mass Effect and more, today announced they have come together to form this new venture. The studio is one-hundred-percent employee owned, fully creatively independent, and committed to defying convention, challenging players, and taking big risks. " Saw they just dropped another Q&A video, so I'm off to watch that.
I have to say it is early access I expect bugs glitchy aspect of the game and I'm willing to find these as a person who played Beta for many games I love making reports for Devs. I think this good it allows them to bug fix and optimize for many builds since Indie companies don't have access to major bug tester groups and using the fanbase instead allows them to create more community building and dialogue with the Devs.
I agree. I expect bugs and less polish in general for the EA period. If the devs set up a good relationship with the community, I think it can nonetheless go really well. Thanks for watching!
This is the first im hearing about it, but im excited for anything different. I need a good 4 player co op experience with class elements! Without donkey kong uppercutting john cena in your periphery lol
I have never really liked multiplayer-style games because I loved being immersed into a new world with a good story campaign when I started gaming. Going multiplayer and hearing 10-year-olds finding new ways to yell racist things, was not my jam, lol. For the past 10 years multiplayer was the go-to money maker with endless microtransactions and subscriptions. I say bring back immersion and single-player or online co-op if you wanna play with someone and God-level story telling pls.
forever winter is not multiplayer. it is a singleplayer game that you can play co-op with other people. it has a peer-to-peer system for online gameplay, so no need for servers, etc. and once the game loses traction/ devs move on/ etc. then you'll still be able to play the game offline/ with whoever you want to play with!
I don’t have confirmation. As I mentioned in the video, I advise caution until the game comes out. Like all other games, we won’t truly know until it comes out. I personally enjoyed the gameplay from the alpha footage fwiw. Thanks for watching!
The attitude of the devs just oozes passion for what they made, and they will make. I find it hard to not get excited almost solely based on that fact. Especially with how the gaming industry is now as a whole The game looks like it might be a little rough at EA launch, but It's different and knows what it is. I personally can't wait to see what this game becomes in the next years
from the trailers, i believe they got lucky with whoever is masterminding their art direction. nothing from what we've seen so far inspires confidence in the movement, gunplay, sounds, optimizations and networking. and that bullshit "based" announcement vid they put out is pure circlejerking, much like this video is.
Circlejerk seems a bit harsh, but I see where you’re coming from. Games like BF2042 have had great marketing but ended up poorly. As I mentioned at the video, I still advise caution as far as waiting until release.
Definitely fair! The gameplay I’ve seen in the last few days has potential but lots of rough edges. The devs seem receptive to feedback which is a good sign.
@@calvinfishermedia unfortunately, "seem" is not good enough for much people, me personally, i'll be investing on its early access, but can totally see i'll not be playing it for a while
Wow! Interesting video and game. I haven’t heard of this game. It must be new and Steam related. Also, I love that you have used the term I also use with is Fortniteification. It is the #1 thing on my list of 4 things that are hurting gaming specifically multiplayer gaming. I’d say it accumulates 70%-80% of the main issues. Games all looking the same because of the colors pallet, skins, battle passes and the other service elements. Games don’t have an identity because of that stuff. Good video again man! I hit you up on Twitter wanted to chat about some stuff!👍
There is a decaying water mechanic that will affect the game even while you are not playing. I absolutely LOVE the idea for this game, but I will not be penalized for not playing. Guess we'll see what the devs do with all of the feedback. I hope it's something that ends up not being a huge deal.
Wait, you decay for not playing? I hate shitty mechanics like that. Some of us have a life and don't want to get screwed over because we prioritise our social and family time over videogames.
I tend to ignore hype, because whenever people hype about something, it more often than not, arrives very underwhelming. What is hard to not see, is the jank movement and jumping. That is gonna ruin the immersion completely.
That is fair! I do always try to exercise caution with hype as well. Fwiw I finally got to try out the Forever Winter last night, and it offers an experience unlike anything else I’ve played. So, I think there is something to be said about that! Thanks for watching and commenting
like auteur cinema, this game is auteur, or pardon my french, lol. this is a unique design and approach, lots of references but they cut deeper. have to be familiar with becsinski in the beginning. waiting for this game.
This is a good way to look at it! I still advise caution to people just so they don’t jump in and get buyer’s remorse, but definitely see where you’re coming from. I will be hopping on day one too!
erm please stop putting this much wish on a single game it's early access, there is no guarantee it won't get abandoned in like 2 months like all other survival games during the dayz era
Can you guys please stop fanboying? The devs PR themselves as underdogs but implement a system that deletes your progress if you don't log in, even in single player. They will release a buggy mess and charge you for it. The AI that allegedly fights a war while taking objectives is, from what I've seen just low al troops that spawn in and attack each other or wobble about a couple of clumsy steps in whatever direction and back. The setting is cool but ant the end of the day it's warhammer 40k plus frontmission. And this, barely a shooter is supposed to save shooters? The graphics look very dated by the way. You guys never learn with devs promising you stuff you've never seen, do you?
To be fair, I do talk about that it is best to exercise caution and that the game could turn out poor at release. I advise caution in the video and to wait to see, as always.
Just finished the Northfield saga apocalypse bounty. It was really good. Gonna have to check out the next one soon.
Thank you, it really means a lot that you checked out the book and gave such nice feedback!

I have a potato PC and no friends to play with but your video gave me a full load of hype about this game. Let's see if I can try it... Someday
Hopefully it is optimized! Based on some of the frame stutters in the video, I would definitely hold off and see how performance is day one
In the q&a they said they are releasing a demo in the next few months to check if your PC can run it
@@chancebollinger3195 that is a really cool thing to do! I would love if more games did that.
I play it on a potato. Great game :D But dont expect great performance ^^
