NYC Subway: R46 Returns to G Line Service (2025)

On January 18th R46s returned to temporary service on the G Line. Due to many R160s out of service for wheel truing and other maintenance, R160s have been prioritized for E, F and R train service since CBTC is active on the Queens Blvd and Culver Lines. Due to this, SMEEs have returned to G Line operation until at least the Spring. This includes R68/R68As from Concourse and Coney Island, and now R46 equipment. Enjoy!

A repeat in history when the G line was assigned to Jamaica Yard with R46s and R46s only back in 2010 and then Coney Island Yard alongside the R68s/R68As Good times.
