Oh and dont race vettes in your v6. Doesn't matter the year for some reason these cars always ALWAYS win by a car or two. (dream car is a c5 or c6 zr1
@@eVerProductions1 well if you can shift through the first 3 gears properly - knowing your cars transmission, you dont have as much as of disadvantage as a 6 speed auto with no selections what so ever. It takes experience to be able to push a FWD to it's peak level of handling/performance, that's what makes it fun! Merely having all the most "preferable" car specs/mods doesn't make a person a better driver. Too many people jump to that conclusion without maximizing their potential with what they already have.
Not at all. Especially for a car that gets 30mpg highway. I been looking for a 16 with 6mt. Doing the research and was just recommended this video. Lol

I've had one for 2 years now and 30,000 miles on it. I gotta say there's nothing like it when people say "it's just an accord right?" and you punch it and it does damn near a burn out. This manual V6 Accord was a giant killer fr. The V6 Altima and Camry couldn’t keep up, non v8 mustangs and camaros had a hard time, Nissan 350Z’s and Infiniti G35’s gasped for power at the high rpm, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe got a run for their money
The old one you drove was an auto. If you had driven a 6 speed your reaction would have been identical. Same power, identical transmission, better steering feel.

I have a 8th gen coupe 6-6 and manual is the way to go with these cars. Just such a blast! And now with this 9th gen they really refined the whole car. Love the new interior.
Two days ago, I was thinking, "I hope he does a V6 Accord Coupe review." I was curious what he thought of it since it is quicker than his Ecoboost Mustang.
+ProjectM97 I have this car (with the automatic) and my biggest gripe with it is the automatic uses VCM which switches from 6 cylinders to 3 cylinders when you are cruising or when there's little to no throttle being applied. It's worse then turbo lag, so definitely consider that when/if you test drive one
told u the v6 coupe accord +13' is wayy more hp than the previous gens. it's literally a 13 sec car stock form. the other review was useless, glad u did this review.
I've owned this 2014 Accord LX model since new. It's a really good vehicle. I do have a serious safety issue with how the cruise control works though. It does not disengage when downshifting unless you touch the brakes or the cancel button. I've been driving cars for over 55 years and this is the first one where depressing the clutch pedal does not disengage the cruise. Q: Why would the engineers make it like this?
I'm on my second Accord and it's the same one as this video. Car hauls serious ass. No joke. Great great car for enthusiasts. Absolute beast to drive. And a reliable, practical, affordable daily driver
This car is such a sweet sleeper. Idk what it is- but gatt damn the seating position and comfort is out of this world. It’s insulated so well too, so quiet and smooth inside
I have my Florida permit and as you might know, every single road in Florida is flat and straight. we're in western NC this week for Christmas where there are fun mountain roads everywhere and we decided to bring my father's 2013 Accord Coupe v6 manual and to tell you the truth, I was having an awesome time. Never being able to test it in Florida, I always thought it was a big fast car that couldn't handle anything but wow, I was surprised.
I haven’t seen you drive a 2012 Accord Coupe with the six speed. I saw your review of the automatic coupe. My 2012 Coupe pulls really well through 5th gear and rockets through 5000 RPMs putting a smile on my face as big as your smile in the 2014.
+DragonXrulez I was stuck between a v6 6MT coupe and a 2011 Civic Si. Only thing I didn't like about the accord was how big it felt. Didn't feel near nimble enough and it was a little bit too luxurious for me. Looks, sounds and drives great. Very happy with my 2011 Civic Si Sedan
@Jeff Pratt is the 2015 feel faster (more torque-y?). I have the 2006 V6 manual and trying to decide whether I should get another Accord or something else. Would you say they are about the same? I'm honestly pretty underwhelmed by my Accord.
As a Honda Fanboy that’s had Accords, Civics, and CRVs, I really miss the V6 option paired with a Manual and a 2 door. I know they didn’t sell that well towards the end, but man they were great cars for guys like me that didn’t have kids and liked a smaller car with a V6 and that was great on gas and fun to drive.
+thecarelectronicguy Yeah most manufacturers can squeeze 320-ish out of modern V6's but in the Accord the V6 is weak because the power's going through the front wheels. If it was RWD Honda could give it some more umph without torque steer.
@@jacetheace849 honestly all i noticed was a bit less body roll and a bit more turning stability in the 9th gen They’re powered by the same j series v6 . I found the acceleration and quickness to be about the same. What differences did you notice? Honestly just curious what your experience was.
@@DripGxd_Cam I forgot the weight for the 8th at this point. maybe that has something to do with it? Maybe I could be a little confused based on timing of memory with the cars. But I do know that I consistently feel in my 9th that the acceleration seems to redline faster. If I had to guess, I'd say that maybe they changed the gear ratios between them. I've also reached a top speed of about 153 in my 8th while in my 9th 164. They are absolutely very on point with each other. I only had my 8th for about 2 years while i've had my 9th for 6 now.
I like the rear design of the exterior, but I feel the front is a bit bland compared to the rest of the exterior design. It's still a good car overall though.
I went back to watch this video. It’s funny how you go back and see how you progressed through the years and you definitely progressed ! Man you’re way better now! Other reviewers have progressed as wel. But it’s nice to go back and see how successful you all have become as time went on. I can’t believe how dirty that car was..😜😂lol
This is classy and refined. Affordable as well and only about 35 hp away from the Type R. This car makes more sense and the Type R will not have a moonroof.
Thank you man for this amazing review I was thinking for buying a 2013 civic si but after this review I will go without any problem with an accord 2014 v6 manual coupe you change my mind completely because your first review of an accord v6 2012 automatic was destroying of that old model the new version is just stunning
I was going for 2014 BMW 328 but... I went with an Accord Sport and have no regrets. Better on Gas, cheaper on Gas, low Maintenance cost, the ability drive in Automatic and Manual, and most importantly you ACTUALLY get your money's worth for the price of the car. P.S my goal is to own an M4 but till than my Accord is lit.
I owned an ‘04 V6MT back in the day, and just last month picked up a 2013 V6MT in really nice condition. I couldn’t believe how much quicker the 9th gen is! These Accords are absolute gems!
I own an 08 v6 accord sedan. I've named it Rommel. Very fun to drive, gas mileage in the city isn't fantastic but none the less its great on the highway. 120k miles and still rides smoother then everything ive road in cept Cadillac. And you can race it stock and have fun If a modern v8 pulls up on you don't even think about it cause they weight the same and have a ton and a half more torque and hp then you but most v6s, almost all 4 bangers and most oldschool v8s you can best if you drive correctly. Note, this is for stock on stock racing. Dont wanna hear about your 2002 v6 twin spooly snailed mustang or your supercharged LS- no naturally aspirated v6 can beat a spooly snailed or supercharged v8 or v6... Now a 4 banger with a spooly snail or supercharger? that sounds like a fun race haha. Only lost to a type r, and almost all the WRX's ive raced. WRX's usually get me after 2nd- that turbo kicks in and offpphh. Kinda like ECO boost stangs, cept ive never raced someone in one who had any skill cause ive always won...
Having owned an 08 si and a 96 trans am lt1 6spd this car is faster stock than both. Rear wheel drive is obviously more fun but living in northern ny snow tires only do so much did I mention my exl with navi has more creature comfort options than a previous cadillac deville I owned it's not for everyone but that's why there's probably so few riding around
Matt Welch totally agree. I went from a full bolt on 98 Z28 LS1 6 speed to my 14 Accord V6 6 speed. It's almost as fast as my Z28 was when it was stock. It's a totally different car but still a ton of fun. It gives you somewhat of a luxurious ride with a screaming v6 and 3 pedals. What more can you want in a DD?
You should have let me know you have been looking for one! I got mine in Feb 2015 and love it. A lot of people say this is an old person car, but with the v6 and manual i dont think so at all. He didnt mention that the best part is not only do you have 279hp but i avg 30mpg.
Old video, but the 8th gen accord v6 and 9th gen accord v6 had the same power numbers, 8th gen- 278 whp and I believe torque was 254. Pretty sure both generations had the same power numbers. Although getting them on the dyno showed significant differences between the figures shown and the actual power out down
I must disagree with his opinion on the coupe versus four-door's appearance. I think they both look equally as good, the coupe just looking more sporty, but the four-door being just as good in a different way
This car will definitely hold its value now because Honda no longer makes the Accord in a 2 door coupe. And they no longer make it in a V6. And lastly, they stopped making it in the 6 speed manuel this year.
Finally someone does a good review on this car. This car is overlooked too much. Id take this over an Si any day
it's over looked because they are expensive for what they are , people tend to chose the cheaper mustang and camaro for coupes
+Alex Silva to bad the Accord is getting killed off and replaced by the Gen X Civics

"WOW..this thing is a screamer"".... Fave part
I have a 2015 Accord manual V6, its awesome! Also had a 2007, same model just had to get a new one. Quick as hell!
@Jeff Pratt is the 2015 feel faster (more torque-y?). I have the 2006 V6 manual and trying to decide whether I should get another Accord or something else. Would you say they are about the same? I'm honestly pretty underwhelmed by my Accord.
I remember asking you to review an Accord 2 months ago and finally you did!
me also
As a Honda Fanboy that’s had Accords, Civics, and CRVs, I really miss the V6 option paired with a Manual and a 2 door. I know they didn’t sell that well towards the end, but man they were great cars for guys like me that didn’t have kids and liked a smaller car with a V6 and that was great on gas and fun to drive.
If only it was RWD...
+thecarelectronicguy i was waiting for this comment
+thecarelectronicguy it will never happen unfortunately
+thecarelectronicguy That would be the NSX (first gen)
+thecarelectronicguy or AWD like the TLX
+thecarelectronicguy Yeah most manufacturers can squeeze 320-ish out of modern V6's but in the Accord the V6 is weak because the power's going through the front wheels. If it was RWD Honda could give it some more umph without torque steer.
It looks great and sounds great! Great review!
I hope Honda listen to their customers and will build a RWD platform for their bigger models (like the Accord/TLX or other future models).
The suspension isn't exactly soft on this. Its firm when going over bumps but handles them well
Keep in mind the old one you reviewed was an automatic the 8th gen manual is just as punchy
No it's not. I've had both. 9th 6--6 is quite a bit of a difference.
Also, sorry for the extremely late reply. Somehow I didn't notice any notification from this post.
+Subaruwrxfan Another great car review Matt. Have a good Christmas Andy
this is a really good underrated car with a manual transmission, I own one my self in red. only thing
is missing is RWD. awesome car, good job honda.
Would be awesome if Honda implemented Acura's SH-AWD into this Coupe
Great review man! I actually took one for a test drive the other day and loved it!
Haha thanks! Yeah I'd like to think I've become a lot better at reviewing cars over the years lol. Thanks for the comment!
Review the 2008 Acura TL type s please
The last REAL TL
This is classy and refined. Affordable as well and only about 35 hp away from the Type R. This car makes more sense and the Type R will not have a moonroof.
I know this is old video, but nice review. First guy I've seen actually enjoy his 6 6 like I do.
Thank you man for this amazing review I was thinking for buying a 2013 civic si but after this review I will go without any problem with an accord 2014 v6 manual coupe you change my mind completely because your first review of an accord v6 2012 automatic was destroying of that old model the new version is just stunning
I own a 2000 honda accord coupe with the 3.0 V6 it's a fun car to drive and modify
Automatic tho
Yea I have automatic
The V6 didn't have the manual option for that gen(6th)
+smoothrider7 no
I own a 2000 accord sedan 4 cylinder manual. And that bitch is still fun to drive!!
Not a big Honda fan but I really do really like these new Accords. especially the 2015 Accord and all new Civic.
Check out my Stock Exhaust Video for my Accord Sport :p
I wanted you to do this review for so long, especially after seeing your 2008 V6 coupe review. I now own one of these as opposed to my BRZ.
Awesome review! Loved the intro effects! Car sounds great, it would be crazy if Honda made a Si RWD Turbo version.
I owned an ‘04 V6MT back in the day, and just last month picked up a 2013 V6MT in really nice condition. I couldn’t believe how much quicker the 9th gen is! These Accords are absolute gems!
gosh ive been shopping around for one of these! I really want one!
I own an 08 v6 accord sedan. I've named it Rommel. Very fun to drive, gas mileage in the city isn't fantastic but none the less its great on the highway.
120k miles and still rides smoother then everything ive road in cept Cadillac. And you can race it stock and have fun
If a modern v8 pulls up on you don't even think about it cause they weight the same and have a ton and a half more torque and hp then you but most v6s, almost all 4 bangers and most oldschool v8s you can best if you drive correctly.
Kinda like ECO boost stangs, cept ive never raced someone in one who had any skill cause ive always won...
great video! could you post on ig a picture of your best 0-60 run in the mustang?
@@LeoM-zt3pl It is dope seeing past V8 owners show a Honda some love! I hope one day I get a chance to own a V8
You should have let me know you have been looking for one! I got mine in Feb 2015 and love it. A lot of people say this is an old person car, but with the v6 and manual i dont think so at all. He didnt mention that the best part is not only do you have 279hp but i avg 30mpg.
My 4 cyl Accord 2014 coupe still does wheel spin at 1 and 2 gear plus it less heavy. Not like driving a fr-s but it a no compromise coupe car.
Old video, but the 8th gen accord v6 and 9th gen accord v6 had the same power numbers, 8th gen- 278 whp and I believe torque was 254. Pretty sure both generations had the same power numbers. Although getting them on the dyno showed significant differences between the figures shown and the actual power out down
Also if only the new Accord V6 was RWD. Then it would truly be an amazing car. RWD V6 Accord is what the people want.
With manual transmission!
Clint
What a great looking coupe. I love the 2014 body style
They do have bottle holders Matt, just move that little pouch out of the way.
I have a '13 in Tiger Eye Pearl (brown) and I LOVE it!
I love the intro!😁
awesome review. he was like a kid at a candy store when he experienced that J series power lol he underestimated it
I must disagree with his opinion on the coupe versus four-door's appearance.
Seems true!!
Ur reviews are damn good! Keep it up bro!
The j series engines in my opinion is one of the best sounding v6 and they scream
