Huge red flag. I spent 12 years with a partner who didn't care for Conan but liked Craig Ferguson. Biggest mistake of my youth.
I dont think not liking Conan would be the immediate deal breaker but, in all honesty, it might be a hint that your sense of humor may not align. That def would make me wary a little as if we can't make the same kinds of jokes together then maybe it won't work out.
That being said I've been in a relationship for 10 years and my gf doesn't like all the same comedians as I do but I still find her to be one or the most funny women I've met so there's not a direct correlation between liking the same comedians and not having a good sense of humor.

I shed one tear for Conan after watching this.
"She finds that I'm gonna say repellent." Incredibly funny. Conan's face as his fan enumerates the possible reasons for his wife disliking Conan is priceless. Dave's fulsome compliments seem increasingly backhanded as he then offers his wife's perspective. The use of the word "desperate" is especially choice. Conan opens up a new shaft in the comedy goldmine, even as Dave's wife gives Conan the shaft via Dave.
And then there's Sona's reaction. Pure joy!

I honestly can't understand someone who is fascinated by Jordan Schlansky and doesn't like Conan. Sure, I can see that Conan's humor can sometimes be a way to get attention for himself, but his genuinity about it and his not trying to hide who he is is what makes me love him.
Don't worry Conan, as long as Jordan is in a different tent, I would say we are doing great :)
You're basically saying you don't get that different people like different things. I mean, in life is that your attitude? Or is this a Conan specific thing. I find it weird that people who like Conan are so intolerant and unbelieving that others don't think that way 🤷♂️. I just personally have never understood people's fascination with Jordan Schlansky. I don't expect everyone to like the same things as me and I understand people can be different. But Jordan just annoys me to my core and it is strange to understand why people like him. For most issues I would say that I can usually see a pro and a con.
But now that you mention that, I feel like the kind of thinking that I may have been guilty of is very prominent in religious circles. I feel like the positive effects of their beliefs are rooted in the fact that God exists. And if God doesn't exist, then their interpretation of their experiences to this point are false.
Would you say this is problematic?

My wife does not like Conan either. She didn't like him from the first time he became a late night talk show host. All the years I watched Conan on TV, she'd run out the room, as soon as it was on. I sometimes had to hide that I was watching him and laughing. If she heard his voice from another room, she yell something like: "you're not watching that jerk, are you"?! I'd quickly turn the volume down, and pretend I'd turned the TV off.

@@andreachung396 She laughed at my jokes, and we got together way before Conan came on the air. But I have to say after almost 40 years together,....she doesn't find me a bit funny anymore. And that's a bummer,.....I loved cracking her up, and we both giggle until we couldn't catch our breaths. Now I am happy when we are just civil to each other.

I like this, this is honesty. Conan's not for everyone, no one is. I dislike the blowing smoke up peoples arses stuff that happens alot. You dont need to be rude but you can be honest.
I don’t know if they do any background before the interview, but what a comedy landmine they step into just from Conan asking if Claire listens to the podcast as well.

I remember watching Conan for the first time in the late 90s as a kid. Idk what kept me watching… I usually watched Leno/letterman and then went off to play LEGOs til I fell asleep… wish I remembered what I saw that made me a cone bone 🦴
Maybe one of the skits, for me one of the early bits I remember liking as a kid was “in yeaaaaar twooo thooouuusand” news from the future

Conan can be polarizing, but not because he's offensive, edgy, or political. People think he's hilarious or an annoying clown. There's not much in-between. That's one reason he had trouble transitioning to the more mainstream "Tonight Show" platform when the 11:35 timeslot was less fragmented and required a "big-tent" host that turned off the fewest people. Personally, I think Conan is a national treasure and one of the all-time great talk-show hosts. By the way, Letterman's quirkiness and aloofness created similar problems for him when he moved to 11:35.
Conan should be on TV! Instead we get the Jimmy's & Colbert destroying Late Night.
Dave's wife seems to have a ex-wife dynamic with Conan, while Sona also seems to have another ex-wife dynamic with Conan, both berating him in different ways. Matt is the child from one of their marriages gripping the pillow out of nervousness sensing a conflict coming.
