One thing I really miss about takedowns from DXHR is the sound effect when you hit someone. It just felt so crunchy and impactful, I loved hearing it lol
I like the approach they did for the takedowns in this game. I will always love the takedowns in HR but these makes more sense since Adam Jensen is quickly trying to dispatch his enemies quickly and quietly unlike in HR where the animations do drag out a bit longer and seem to be more louder than in this game.
I've played through about seven times and have not seen the takedowns at 1:14, 4:06, and 4:51 in any of my playthroughs. I must do those. I love this game.
0:13 that punch doesn't feel as powerful as it did in HR... maybe because the punch doesn't go past the head's original position, the sound of the hit is dampened, and that the camera's stationary. other than that, it IS the same exact as my favourite takedown in HR
I have a problem with 0:27......I'm pretty sure taking a strike to the throat with an augmented hand, your windpipe is gonna snap and you're fucked. That's not a knockout move, that's a killing move!
I love that most of these takedowns are ideal for both cyborg-enhanced strength and neutralizing an opponent before they can scream for help. Really elaborate stealth takedowns are flashy but obviously stupid. Nice breath of fresh air, Deus Ex.

Mkd moves aren't as flashy as hr, but I think they make more sense to the actual description of a silent non lethal move, but it would be cool if they kept the same moves from the first game

Besides the obviously better audio and animation production I think one of the key factors of these takedowns is the precise camera work, synched perfectly with the takedowns.
I was very surprised to find out that there were more standing takedowns other than 0:06 and 2:54... is there some secret method I dont know to do these other takedowns? Do I need to aim at a certain body part like the glory kills from doom?
I'd love to see the blade takedowns in sync to the song: "The dismemberment song". A takedown sync video if you would. Also, 2:18 ; I'm pretty sure that dudes spine just got wrecked.

maybe I'm 3 months late, but still. Some story-wise important NPCs can be knocked down and you can meet them later. Gameplay wise? I think enemies can wake up their sleepy mates.

About the 1:14,it requires the glass shield invisibility cloak augment,just go to cover,turn of the augment then quickly do a takedown
