1981 was an amazing Era to enjoy Chtissie. I have Parkinson but it will not stop me from loving this lady's songs. Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?
The Pretenders were one of the first bands I listened to, in the early 80's. Saw them twice, I wish it was 20 times! There will never be music as good as what came out of the 70's & 80's! Best time to be alive!!
I would have gone to see the Pretenders and skipped Guns-N-Roses. The Pretenders are a very tough act to follow. They're as good if not better than they ever were, just a killer band. 😻
Marvelous Chrissie Hynde! I saw the Pretenders in 1987, in Barcelona, she impressed me and I have fond memories of that concert. Thanks for sharing this! ❤👍🏼
Howdy, all the way from Northumberland, UK. This band is the ultimate rock perfection. Followed this band from being a kid. She sounds perect as always. I just wish she would tour nearer where I am, its always the south. ........ and that drummer..... WOWCHER! Many thanks for the upload and keep safe all of you. x

Not sure. But he tends to come and go. I think he's just doing other things. He has land and really seems to enjoy working that verus being out on the road. Someone below says he retired from touring, which is no suprise. The drummer here does a great job. And on the band's 'warm up' UK club date tour prior to hooking up with G 'n' R there was another drummer who did at least one date.
It’s a GNR crowd. What would happen if some pot-bellied oaf with a stage pass walked behind GNR during their set in full view of the audience? He’d be fired before he got to the chow line.
Big fan since the first album-is it the mix that’s off? Certainly not the talent in the band including-vocals great. Just the sound seems way off to me? Perhaps the camera? Wow. All that effort and talent. Such a fine band.
Why is the stage presentation so poor? It looks like a sound check or a rehearsal, people walking on the stage, no background set… that said, I love The Pretenders and these songs.
Apparently Martin retired from tourng. But he's been out of the band in the past. On the 'Get Close' album there were several drummers including Simon Phillips, Mel Gaynor and Steve Jordan (that's him on 'Don't Get Me Wrong?') and Blair Cunningham, the latter being enlisted as a band member after Chambers was fired because his drumming wasn't up to par. On 'Breaking Up the Concrete', Jim Keltner did the drumming.

Yes, but you can't blame Chrissie. The rest checked out and left her the lone (wo)man standing. You should be miffed at Scott and Farndon for messing up a good thing. As for Chambers, he prefers working his land to hitting the tour trail, which is actually a nice change. But Chrissie, yeah, they're her tunes, she wants to gig, and she has had great players over the years. Still, despite this being a fine band (not the best setting for them), she would certainly agree with your sentiment. Still, great that she's doing this and still sounding great.
You seem to be forgetting one thing. It's Chrissie's band. She put it together and was the founding member. What's she supposed to do? Stop gigging just because a couple of morons decided to off themselves with drugs? I applaud her for still getting out there and rockin' at 72-years-old. I hope I still have that much energy when I get to that age.
BTW-further to my comment below. Depending on when one came in, by your rationalisation, the Beatles were no longer the Beatles once Stu Sutcliffe died and Pete Best was given the shove. And with only Jagger & Richards, the Stones stopped being the Stones after Brian Jones was ejected.
I'd rather see them than Guns n Roses.
