That’s because it’s a 360 degree camera that uses “AI” to stitch together the image and remove the pole that holds the camera, while keeping you perfectly in the centre of the frame. It ends up looking very artificial.
I have a ebike very very similar to that Frey CC. Mine is a Dengfu E06. It’s Carbon Fiber. I have carbon fiber wheels with the same tires and I run them tubeless, so they are deceptively light. I have the same motor, a 10 SPD, and all high end components…WREN Forks, RockShox. Mine tips the scales at 66LBS. I have over 1200miles on mine and absolutely love it. Fat tires give you so much stability and confidence that I encourage anyone and everyone to consider giving them a try. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy my Fat tire eMTB. Another good video
when I bought my Frey AM1000 I was able to ask them to upgrade to 52v and provide a gear shift sensor that will cut power to the motor when shifting. It is a great option, I highly recommend everyone add it.
I have the Frey CC it is a lovely bike. I didn’t find it super comfortable. It stops on a dime even on grass. I paid $5,200 Canadian I also bought a Ariel rider Kepler 2 for half the price and I like it a lot more. The specs are not as good however I don’t notice it. The power is more on the Kepler and I find the battery also lasts longer than the Frey. And I am very comfortable. The saying you get what you pay for I always say if your lucky I like your videos, there’s so many bikes out there now it’s a jungle. Happy riding folks
How is the comfort of the full suspension vs non? In my mind I think I need the full suspension but in reality I'm not sure. The cheap bike I have now is so uncomfortable I don't want to ride it long. Did only 3 miles last night ( I am super new again been 30+ years since I've been on a bike) but with the ebikes I can get in some exercise and not worry about pushing the thing home when I give out. You are right about the jungle...I've been researching so much they are all starting to blurr.
The full suspension is more comfortable than no suspension you notice a big difference. Especially with the Frey suspension it is good quality. Now they brought out a fat tire version which I found with my Ariel rider the fat tires make the ride super comfortable. I am looking for a bike to use in Mexico and like the price and the specs of the new Lectric fat tire bike from Phoenix Arizona. The pedalling is more of a true pedal based upon your effort where the Ariel rider you ghost pedal a bit. A lot of the bikes have the same frame but the components are different. A good comfy suspension seat will help too I hope you get something soon
Good video, thank you for pointing out that very powerful mid drive motors pose a massive challenge for bicycle drivetrains, they're not made for the amount of torque and power these motors put out. I've started out on a mid drive bafang motor ebike and switched to one with a rear HUB motor with a torque sensor in the pedal crank, not quite as good but much better on the drive train. Ultimately I want the industry to go towards belt drive systems, quieter, easier maintenance and, although complex, still very possible to built into full suspension ebikes with strong motors that have gearing built into the motor unit. Couple years and we should be there, can't wait!
Suggestion : PLEASE do a series on proper shifting techniques for ebikes = we would really appreciate it! Plus I'm sure would be great for views! title = SAVE $2000 (on repairs from bad shifting habits ) - love your content
I don't understand why they don't use a thicker chain with 1/2 the gears that are also thicker/stronger. Would really help the breaking/wearing issue you rightly talk about. Why do you need 9 gears when you have that much power available to help? Using key parts designed for non-electric bike, this many years into their design blows my mind - design the correct components for this setup. Until then, I'll stay on the sidelines for an electric mountain bike.
Happy new year! Great review! It’s impressive unfortunately and I needed something cheaper and I live in ny and luckily bought a himiway before new year so it doesn’t get expensive in the spring.
Short review but good .. A question for a knowledgeable reviewer: For such high torque heavy bikes like this why not use a heavy duty 4,5 or 6 speed cassette with a single speed chain purpose built for powerful ebikes. fat tire ebikes are already wide across the back, they just dont need all those gears which requires a spindly little chain with super thin side plates.... Biktrix has one with a separate chain but ut costs around $5500
I would agree with this review. If your budget allows, you can also create an even better bike yourself. I went a few steps further. Started with a Juggernaut Ultra FS, added DT Swiss BR2250 wheel set, Manitou Mastodon fork, SRAM GX 1 x 11, surly 4.5/4.8 tires. Don't think I could be happier. Also: 52v upgrade is a must, huge difference in power and range.
I need to check the performance with FULL THROTTLE!!! i need this ebike for go to work every morning (6AM), but i need a GOOD full throttle... thank you very much
just asking, can this e-bike withstand human weight around 170 kg? I kinda tall and bigger, need something to move around. Just need to know basis kinda stuff.
Great video, please do more Frey Bike reviews. They have some dual battery models that look cool. I’m more interested in the commuting bikes, not the fat tire bikes. Thanks
In Morroco we have a company called (electrika, emove) selling a powerful motorcycle with 72v 40Ah battery lithium ion battery pack for 1700 to 1800 dollars. It's the best choice for me.
Need more reviews on commuter bikes! Most people who do "mountain biking" do it for fitness and exercise and I don't think this is the market in the U.S. for electric bikes. In my opinion the electric bike market in the U.S. is for commuters or for food delivery.
$4000 and it doesn’t come with basic lights or fenders. That should be in the box and if the customer doesn’t want them they can always just take them off 🤷♂️
This bike was really easy to assemble ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
If I'm spending anywhere near this amount it's going to be on something like the bandit from sparks cycle works or the huck stinger , lyric graffiti/voodoo , onyx rcr dirt.. etc and only a 48 volt system don't get me wrong it's a good looking bike but over priced my opinion
But are you going to run a motorcycle in parks, city trails, sidewalks, down the street without a license, golf course paths at dusk while holding a beer .....
Je ne comprend pas une chose des vélos à ce prix qui ne mette pas une sécurité électronique qui débraille le moteur au passage de vitesse pour enlever le risque sur la transmission cela existe sur des chinoiserie à 1500€ …
There is no point in buying a $4500 bike when in a year the same bike will be $3500 in a year after that $2500 obviously if money is no object then who cares. Yes great Parts great frame but you didn’t talk about the battery whatsoever is it removable?
Really good to hear reviews from someone who absolutely knows what they're talking about!
Got mine a month ago and love it. Great for exploring rugged trails with lots of hills. Its like riding a 4wd couch!
I wonder cause it has full suspension derailer system and mid drive. How is the maintenance?
That part on the trail at 3:41 looks like you are green-screened!

Why would you ride with the key in the lock? If you fall and it breaks off…..
$4500 doesn't seem that high for how nice this bike is imo. Good review! cool bike.

Why any bike isn't using internal gear hub and belt drive doesn't make any sense
IGHs don't withstand the torque of a 1500 W motor. It's more a thing for EU style 250 W Pedelecs or 500 W speed Pedelecs
@@simonm1447 the new bafang g510 can withstand it. 5 speed only though.
Never mentioned the distance this thing can go on throttle only?🤷

Nice! would be sick to get a review of the frey evolve neo. There is none on youtube yet. Thanks! :)

eMTB are quite successful but this is not a full on metv more a hybrid emtb/commuter
This is real sweet bike, thank for info
some of the frontal shots of you riding this bike make you look like an elf riding a bike that is meant for adults, LOL
I’d love this with normal sized tyres. Definitely do not need them where I go.

I've been looking for an upgrade from my fat tire M2S All terrain 750
this is a beast (year round biker +winters)
$4000 and it doesn’t come with basic lights or fenders. That should be in the box and if the customer doesn’t want them they can always just take them off 🤷♂️
Mountainbikes and fat tire bikes usually never come with lights and fenders from factory

Looks tuff. Wish it would be more affordable. 😥
Crazy thing is I bought a new car in 87 for 7,300. Things are really out of balance sad to say.
You get what you pay for. This bike is the Mercedes Benz of electric bicycles, and I’m contemplating buying two, one for me and the other as a backup.
Looks good, except the rated payload (120kg) is too low for this type of bike. Many competitors carry 140kg, which I consider to be the bare minimum.
Very nice bike which should sell well. but out of my electric bicycle price range and very close to the price range of some nice motorcycles.
But are you going to run a motorcycle in parks, city trails, sidewalks, down the street without a license, golf course paths at dusk while holding a beer .....

The fact that they did not put a shift sensor on a $5,000.00 e-bike is an oversight of biblical proportions #HARDPASS

Imagine this bike with a pinion Mgu transmission

Super73 went from $3000 to 4000$
2 years later that bike goes for 4900
My Wicked E bike Cruiser 60 V, 1,999$ & does 39 mph on throttle. Frey is over priced.
Who does fake reviews with CGI ?
WTF?!?!
Trail closer right there :(
Not paying 4500 to a no name manufacturer.
I mean all parts are from known companies. I have to say 120kg weight limit is low.
This is not a mountain bike. And another poor ebike review.
