PPL wrecked my class C the day I took it in and hid it from me for 2 months. A salesman finally called and wanted to know if I was willing to pay part of the $5000 repair. After it was repaired and I went to pick it up I found the manuals and tv remotes missing. This was a 6mon old unit with less than 8000 miles. When their CEO said they were honest I had to disagree
Another scam I heard about from my neighbors from a large large dealership is cash cost you more than credit . He told me that they wanted to pay cash for a 5th wheel and the lower cost that was displayed was only if they financed the unit and made at least 9 payments . They were taken to the finance office and told the same thing again that the below manufactures price was with there financing only !! He went to another semi large dealership and they said the same thing . He ended up not getting anything because as he said the $100,000+ he was going to spend sure will buy alot of cabin / hotel rooms for alot of years and alot less hassle .
This is a fact of life with cars and RV’s. You can almost always get a lower price than paying cash because the selling dealer is making money on the backside of the deal either thru cash back from the lender or a piece of the interest rate that you pay. Cash is not king and don’t expect preferential treatment or a better deal because you can pay cash.
Your neighbor is correct,he’ll never have sleepless nights over that decision.Rent a motel room or a cabin by the lake and leave the problems behind when you check out.
We bought a fifth wheel on consignment 6 months ago. The title is nowhere to be found, We travel for work and couldn’t legally move it if we had to. It’s had nothing but problems and had gotten the extra warranty which we’ve used a LOT! The amount of money invested in this to fix, get set up, moving due to parks only allowing registered rbs park is out of hand. The finance company, police has ran the vin.. no title is found. What do we do now? We’re calling attorneys and haven’t gound one that handles RV title fraud. The person that put it on consignment is supposable in the nave and is unreachable. I feel we’ve been scammed. We live in this full time, it is our HOME! Thanks!
I also had lazy Daze out of tuscon reck my travel trailer when La Mesa took everything and haven't got that fixed for over 12 months since la Mesa crisis. What a way to have to have to love your years trying enjoy life to lose all to fraud and deception
Sounds like camping world! They told what they would give me for my TT. Then 3 weeks later they called and said a man had cash and would I take $4000. Less than they told me they would give me. I said NO! I got what they told me they would give me to start with.
It's not just RV's, it might have been tried on me with my old boat. I bought a new boat from a dealer and they gave me an option trade in for 8k or consign for 10k. I chose consign. About 2 weeks into it the dealer called me, would you take 9k? I said no. Next thing you know I got a cheque for 10k.
That net consignment swindle reminds me of one dealership we talked to want a $800 commissioning fee for a small trailer. Then I pressed on what do I get for my $880? The answer I got was A battery and a full 20# propane tank. I say that's about a $100 value. So, I ask. What does the $ 700 go. In your pocket? With that he got rather irritated at me. And no, we did not buy their coach. I do have one for your trusted list. If you want.

It's all bs, unless you buy private. Know what you are buying, and inspect, inspect, inspect. Hire someone to look at if you don't know. Dealers and i mean all dealers will hide things. Maybe not on purpose, they just don't know. Buyer be very aware.
I’m confused, what is wrong with net consignment. The seller either way, has to agree to the amount of money they are willing to accept for their RV. Why is it wrong for the seller to not know how much the dealer sold their RV for?
When you trade in your RV, you know how much the trade value is. Is wrong then to not tell the customer who traded in the RV how much the dealer sold it for?
Hey wingman I watch all your videos and yes I have known of PPL for atleast 15 years. My favorite place to go and check out motorhome deals for one reason, they display the floorplan. I am now looking for another motorhome and these are the criterias I look for #1. Chassis type gas or Diesel, #2 The make #3 the price and regardless of first three is the floor plan. If you offer a fantastic deal on a Newmar Diesel at ta fantastic price but floorplan does not offer a fully enclosed bathroom or 1 1/2 I will keep going, I don't want a shower in hallway, i don't want a vanity in the bedroom. PPL displays all the floorplans. On a negative note, you were overly gushing over PPL and I hope you were well paid because this felt like a 13:38 minute commercial for PPL I felt that you were not being as honest as PPL, sorry. 42 years in Business you grow a nose.

If you did all that for nothing $0 dollars then their's something wrong with the programming.

If I was sincerely in the market I would deal with ppl for used. I have friends that turned in their rv to CW for resale . . . They got taken!!!!! So did the new buyers btw . . Sad . .

I had a very unappealing experience with PPL, on the sell side, they are not, in my opinion, even remotely ethical, they lie at will.
