Thank for speaking clearly and concisely in an informative and professional way. I’m a retired Home Inspector for 31 years. I was also a California General Building Contractor and licensed Hawaii Realtor. We want to visit Cedar City in Spring 22. You given us a great introduction! Appreciate the video.
We love Cedar City. We've had a place on the mountain in Duck Creek since 1979, so CC has been our place to shop and dine for years. We've seen it grow a lot over that time, but it still retains that small town welcoming charm.
My GF and I are coming up this weekend to see the neighborhoods and local attractions in hopes of finding a new place to call home! I have high hopes for Cedar City!
Well done video !! You had me at available hiking opportunities as well as mentioning the Farmers Market; that just screams community feel to me. Thank you so much.
There is also a few parades every now and then! They are super fun! There is also a place called 3000 flushes here where you can swim! The aquatic centre is amazing!
Lillyana - the parades are my favorite! We'll do a feature on the Heritage Livestock Parade this fall. It's amazing and unique to watch the sheep come down Main Street!
I would like to live there but I have been told repeatedly that the winters are freezing with 40 miles an hour winds and that the city is windy most of the time. I still think it's very beautiful; what do you have to say about Cedar's weather in general? Thank you
Im pursuing a career in Real Estate and am looking to start in Utah. Your realetor portion highlighted some valuable information. I will be visiting in may for about 4 days to hang with a Friend and check out the area before getting out of the military. Is there any areas or highlighted portions I may want to check out?
Coming from someone who lived in Cedar for 8months in 2018, I can say is this the locals will complain that there's nothing to do. Well they are wrong spring, summer, spring, there's plenty of hiking, mountian biking, atv trails, 2 National parks close by and many more 250-500miles away. In the winter there's Brian head and the Beaver ski resort. Trust me if your a outdoors type of person this is the city for you. Heck someone could spend 5years and still discover more. I only left because of personal issues. Heck I was looking too be a real-estate agent 3 times out there the first time in 2018 before I went back to my homestate. And was about to head out again before the pandemic to become one out there, but was talked out of it. I took a vacation (2021) earlier this year too Cedar and Zion and was about too stay. But discided to go back to my home state and think about moving back out there again. Long story short I could have been your agent. 3 times. My advice is have a job lined up, skill too take with you, or a professional career. There may be civilization out there, but your still in the wild west of finding a job or making a business successful. I'm looking at moving out again soon if my new job will allow it (Trucker). And will hopefully explore the area again. Since my vacation I can tell you with everyone moving in after the pandemic it doesn't feel like a small town out in the middle of know where anymore, I'm glad I got to take many drives in the county side before it turned into suburbs. (Locals would understand). Again great place too live if you have a income, but losing it scenic wild west touch.
Thanks, Logan - I agree! It's a beautiful place to explore. If there are questions regarding employment or starting a business, I'd love to connect to some great resources in the area. Thanks again!
Craig - there are some easy ways to make sure your pipes won't freeze. Some people will 'winterize' the house by shutting off the water and blowing out the pipes. If the heat in the house is kept at 55 degrees or so, that's typically enough to keep the pipes from freezing.
A Jay- I think you're referencing the testing in Nevada that impacted Southern Utah in the 1950s? I haven't heard of that being an issue in this area currently.
@@LivingInCedarCity Correct, Nuclear fallout remains active millions of years, hence cancer is all over the areas, and there was a settlement of the issue, but they can't remove radio active matter, check with medical reports from dozen of studies.
Hello from Minnesota we are looking to relocate to Utah. We live on 40 acres right now, any home with at least 5 acres and 4 bedrooms around this area under 900000
Hello Krystal! Would love to send you some great properties to check out! I can send you an email, if you'd like to text it to my cell: 435-590-1426, otherwise, let me know a good time to chat!
Hi Suomi- there were subdivisions on the south end of Cedar, the northeast side, and some Enoch subdivisions got hit really hard. I'm told this was a '600 year flood.' It was nothing like I've seen in 30 years in the area. There are flood control measures already in the works to prevent this in the future - if there is anything like this again. Interestingly, none of these areas is in a FEMA flood zone. Happy to provide more details - call or text me and we can discuss. 435-590-1426.
What the heck, now you can buy wine and alcoholic beverages in Cedar city? Ba city in the 1969-1970 one had to go down to St. George to buy booze. It is a beautiful place though!
Have a cabin on Cedar mountain but it's known as tweaker city yet it's has grown and its outta the desert hot zone like St George sits in where I live it's gittin better there but I like it
I have a good buddy living here and says I should consider moving. Politically, I’m a moderate, but lean more towards conservatism. I’m Christian and I believe in freedom and the constitution. Only problem I’m mixed and don’t look white. It said the black population is 0.8 percent and Hispanic population is 8 percent. Scared I’m gonna get judged or have to deal with racist/ racist police like I did in Georgia.
I think you should come to Cedar City, go to some restaurants, shops, visit some of the cool places available here, and see what you think! I'm confident that you'll find folks friendly and welcoming.
Is there a place in Cedar City/Iron County for me where I can be left alone on 40 acres in a small house to ride my motorcycles and not break the bank?
Hi there! We can definitely find you some acreage in the area. Depending on how far out of town you want to be, we might have to think about utilities and water access. Happy to help! 435-590-1426 is my cell.
Paul - I'm sad that that has been your experience. Mine has been much different, and so many of the buyers we work with coming to this area love their neighbors and the community.
Paul - my dear old dad used to say, "wherever you go, there you are." By that he meant that the one consistent thing in all one's interactions is oneself. Because there's great people, and a few jerks, in every community. If our new neighbors love this community, this community will love them back. Best of luck! I hope you can find some great folks here - I find them everywhere!
You and others are the reason people are flooding hear. You're pushing out the locals that has lived here our whole life and enjoyed the small town. Thanks alot...Not
We used to not have a traffic problem downtown, but now with all the out-of-staters moving in the traffic on Main Street has increased dramatically. Couple that with people moving from blue states and bringing their voting record with them and we'll soon look just like the state they left, with the same problems.
Brandon - Thanks for your input. There are a lot of people coming here, as well as all over Utah. It's something we need to plan for, because all projections are that we'll continue to grow. My thought is that we can find opportunities in the growth, and work hard to maintain our culture and heritage that has made this community such a great place to live.
