  • Remastered clips of San Francisco, California, probably in the 1940s. First, we see people heading home after work. Next, we see sequences of distant recordings of some larger buildings. We also see the beach and several recordings in front of some restaurants.

Are you gonna stare at people around you and start talking to them every single day of the year in the morning and in the evening coming back from work? Cause thats sounds weird to be honest and also repetitive and boring, sure you can have a small talk occasionally but i just want to get home so i mind my business 99,99% of the time like everybody else does except the usual creeps, homeless, drug addicts and more of this kind of people...

As a man in my early 50’s, I’m awe struck. This redone film in color really brings home how short life is. Most of the individuals caught on film are long gone! Just hard working folks trying to pay bills to support their families during war time. This makes 75 plus years seem like yesterday.

What kind of extra time did they have that we don't have? What have we replaced that free time with? To quote a song, "If we had the chance, would we do it all again?"
