I was a teenager in high school in the mid 70s when I really got turned onto jazz. One of the first artist I listen to was West Montgomery. An aunt gave me an album. I was hooked. I got into a lot of the artists you are now into like Pat Metheny, Jon Luc Ponty And most of all Duke Ellington. One of the other Albums I got exposed to early was Ella Fitzgerald sings the Duke Ellington songbook. He is her back up band and some Non-vocal tunes on it. I am so glad young guys like you are keeping the fire alive!!
Nice you have an Ellington on your list. So many young cats do not value him as highly. My 3 favorites are Brilliant Corners, Thelonious Himself and Monk's Music all by the sane beautiful soul
Very nice. I am more of a “classical” jazz type of guy, but I will definitely check out your suggestions. You should check out rubberband by Miles. I think you will enjoy it too.

They’re nothing special. Sony turntable with the cartridge it came with.
