Thank you very much for this information. I got my first Anthurium Queen two months ago, and this video is awesome.

This is a great video! I’ve had my queen for almost a year now and shes never had more than 3 leaves, she just loves to drop her leaves. I was stressing about it, but you calmed me down a bit. For some reason I kept her in the terra-cotta pot she came with until a month ago, but now she’s in a plastic pot with a good chunky mix so I hope she’ll be less dramatic, fingers crossed!!

Honestly same, mine did also usually have aproxx 3 leaves. They need extra care and attention for them to hold more, also probably at leats some sort of support.... Good luck to you!

Thank you for sharing your tips! This is my favorite plant! I hope to master the care. I think I will try to mount her, more like a stag horn fern maybe. I have her in a vanda orchid basket now and I think she likes it. I can’t wait to see how your moss pole/mount turns out.

Ooo that mount would be interesting! I always wanted to try the baskets, but never went for it. Maybe is this the sign.

Thanks you so much for the video! I have just got mine Queen from import, I am rerooting her for now (3 leaves, 4th in way, the longest one has 45 cm of lenght). I have plan to acclimate her into my room conditions slowly when she will form new fresh roots.

You are my “run to” when it comes to anthurium 😅 i have a queen that just got all roots rot. I have remove tha last leaf and made wetsticks hoping they will survive. But the other half of the wetstick has actually started yellowing. I actually got it a bit yellowish already. Do you think it will still survive? It’s not mushy though. Just the color changed. But the other half that was holding the last leaf is still green. Hopefully that atleast that one would shoot out a leaf 😔

Hi I've got most trough private sellers on fb/ig, sometimes some specific shops :)

Do you recommend purchasing Queens from Ecuagenera? I received 2 yesterday and I’m now trying to acclimate them in my cabinet, one is in Pon and the other is in Soil Ninja Anthurium Blend, both have 12 hours of light, 90% humidity, temps of 21°C-23°C and good airflow, do you think they’ll survive? I’m praying they don’t drop any leaves!

If the roots looked good then they'll survive no problem at all.

I've gotten a few queens from them and they are OK. Make sure to check the temperatures when you're ordering - too cold and they will just wilt and rot. I've found that with their root ball it's best if you leave it untouched.

Have you ever had flowering (?) queen? I heard that polinating her can be a bit a challenge.

    • @LostInThePlants

Mine flowers regularly and they really are a pain to pollinate. I've tried multiple times with different pollen and every time she just dropped her inflo immediately after 🥲

Flowering no, some of my friends have.
Hard to pollinate or be pollinated with - that's why Queen hybrids are still so sacred :/

Aww dang sorry to hear that :( Did you try to pollinate it with it's own pollen?

@@adansoniia Yeah and I've tried crystallinum pollen, she's really picky 😄
