Hello, I have a Big question about muscle conditioning for impact/striking (not bone conditioning), martial arts like Kyokoshin karate, Shaolin kung fu and Muay Thai. So I'm trying to learn about the science behind muscle toughness conditioning. I've started reading about Wolff's Law, but i read that his original work ONLY applies strictly to bone hardening. He never wrote about muscle hardening. To save you writing an essay, would you be able to point me towards any solid literature and science on muscle becoming harder/denser/tougher from impact and striking? Like dropping a medicine ball on your abs for example. I've been doing that for about 6 months, and my abs are "thicker", but i don't know how to prove it. And like the shaolin guys being lifted on spears, Kyokoshin guys taking full force punches to the body etc. What has SCIENTIFICALLY happened to their muscles to be able to do that? It's not just breathing. Something has physically happened to their muscles too. Do you know any good books or scientific research etc on this subject? Thanks so much!
