Wow ! Wow! Wow ! Have you ever been blessed Alex! It appears, as if you have reached the very pinnacle of your career ; the fruits of your labor! When I see this in a person achieving so much success, I totally relate it to their parents. You were given a lot of creativity and leeway in your growing up years . I’m not a mentalist, but I am a mental health professional and when I see this, I definitely attribute it to how a person was raised. You have created a lot of enjoyment for your subscribers and a lot of success for the people you buy from and your family. Congratulations! Hats off to Alex !
Leo Lunde was the head coach for Finnish Icehockey league team Ilves in 1971-1972 and they won Finnish Icehockey championship that season. Later he was head coach for the Finnish International team and they came 4th in Icehockey World Championship in 1973. That's why he has those Finnish shirts and medals. He then returned to Edmonton Oilers as a player for one more season in '73-74.
At some point he was also in Sweden. Frölunda Göteborg is a team from Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden. His hockey school was further north in Mora in Dalarna in Sweden. ICA is a grocery chain in Sweden, so they were a sponsor on one of the jackets. It's pronounced EEkah even though it looks like an acronym. BTW Suomi is pronounced suh-OH-mee. Three syllables.
Ingborg Lunde (Ingeborg) sounds very swedish to me ( from Denmark)
@@gitteawwal5447 Yes, Ingeborg is a common Swedish woman's name. Lund is a common Swedish surname, but Lunde isn't. Then again you never know how mangled a name got when people emigrated to North America. 🤷🏼♀
I love that you appreciate finds not only for their monetary value, but for their historical value as well. It’s a joy to see you go through items with wide-eyed awe. ❤
That book is a Norwegian hymn book. Specifically, Landstad's church hymn book. It was used for a long time, and had a revision published in 1926. This revised version were the official hymn book until 1985. Landstad also wrote many hymns, though most of the hymns in his book were Danish or German hymns, with Norwegian lyrics.
Lunde is a typical Norwegian name, so probably some ancestors over here😊
Thank you for that information.
What a life he lived. Doing what you love pays off. ❤
5:05 I'm not a seamstresses but I believe that gadget is for hemming. Pyrex Starburst is what you were trying to think of. Great finds.🇨🇦
Yes that is a hemming gadget. I have used one!
Yes, not a shoe sizer.
Västra Frölunda is a hockeyteam in the Swedish league. "Mora" is a town in Sweden with a great hockeyteam, but not in the highest league called "Elitserien" (the elit league). If you have any question about Scandinavian words, teams or terms, just send me a mess and I will be more than glad to help.
I'm not into sports collectibles & I still watched this all the way through. Mr. Lunde had quite a career.
You did this Edmonton boy good, Alex. What a history lesson about a kid who represented so many different teams/communities/people. I really appreciate you for how you teach us about history, even correcting yourself mid-video. Love that you weren't as concerned with the gold $$ as you were with the significance of the piece. Thanks from Vancouver!!!!!
I had a Crissy doll. You were not supposed to cut her hair. She had a button you pressed and her ponytail would retract back into her head.
I had a Ken doll whose arm fell off every time I played with it. His head as well. My Barbies ended up being played with by many a daycare kid and one day kens head went home in someone’s diaper bag. The parent had a good laugh and texted me a picture of it that evening when they came across it. I love watching you go thru all the Barbie stuff. I’ve been trying to track down some of the doll clothes my mom made in the eighties as I think most of mine ended up in an auction box (grampa was a big auction fan) and sold for a few bucks. Some day somewhere I’m sure something will turn up. I have a few things that were spared for some reason but the majority of my Barbies and accessories mysteriously disappeared. I still have my mothers old midge doll that she purchased in the year midge came out, so she could learn to sew her own Barbie clothes for her younger sisters. One thing I learned is that playing outside with an old hard plastic style barbie in a minus thirty Saskatchewan winter will ultimately result in the doll losing her toes. True story! Midge lost her red nail polish on the Tompkins school playground back in the early eighties. It was devastating to six year old me!
That’s not Twiggy, it’s Liza Minelli. A pink Liza Minelli Carousel wig box (lol, I guess you didn’t recognize the face on the box… 😅)
Total time capsule of legendary hockey history! Loved this video Brother Alexander. Thanks for sharing Your passion and adventures from Toronto Ontario Canada 😎👍♥️🇨🇦🏒♥️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️💯💯💯💯💯✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame and hockey museum is in Tampere. Hometown of Ilves. I'm sure they would be interested of some of this stuff.
Oh my Ken! Oh my Alex, you are hilarious! 😂
Great hockey history.. my husband and his family are huge hockey fans, players and historians of all things hockey. ❤❤❤
ICA is a big supermarket chain in Sweden. Hedemora and Stora Skedvi are towns/villages in Dalarna .
Wow what a blast from the past, Len had a great career didn't he, Detroit, Chicago in the greatest era of professional hockey with all the great players, I was born in 1960 so it's right up my alley, Terry Sawchuk was my favorite player and probably one of the best goalies ever, can't wait to see the stuff when you decide to allow people to purchase it, thanks Alexander.
We had a dictionary just like that growing up and Mom used it as a booster seat for the younger kids to sit on at the dinner table LOL
Omg..”the cat looking in the mirror” brooch,I love it so much!😍🐱
Possibly the cat in the first page of Alice ''Through the looking-glass'' book
Mr. Lunde had quite the illustrious hockey career! Good job, Alex.
26:15 CCCP = SSSR in the Cyrillic alphabet which we called the USSR or Soviet Union for short, the reverse side reads (in Russian) World Hockey championship Moscow 1973
Hi Alex,
Thank you for all the videos. Wanted to point out that the gadget is ot a "shoe sizer". It is used by garment makers, for marking the length of hem when making a skirt.
That Bay coat isn’t from the 50s fyi. The Hudson’s Bay tag on it up is more like circa late 70s/ early 80s. The tagging gun that produced that sticker tag wasn’t invented until the 70s. (Yes I used to work retail in the 80s 😂)
I DO have a dictionary that is even larger! It was always open in my mother’s pantry and we were told to “look it up” if we asked how to spell something.
Very nice archive. Some real gems in there.
Good afternoon Alex, the brooch made in France, might be a Lea Stein piece. She made all kinds of funky brooch. They do sell well for good money. Take care.
Oh my goodness!!!! I have that disco doll. I had no idea you stood it in the Record player. I have the Chrissy sold too!!!
Thank you, Alexander, for sharing your finds! So interesting! 😊
7:25 mark.....NOT Twiggy, it's a Vintage Hot Pink Liza Minnelli Carousel Wig Box!
I thought that looked like Liza!
Agreed, that is not Twiggy, it is Liza Minelli.😂😊
A A thank you for taking the time to show us things we would never get a chance to see.
Nice!!! 💓💝💘❤💖 watching your videos, thank you for sharing and have a great evening!!!
Oh my goodness! Great finds! I would be so tempted to not have that brand new old stock jacket dry cleaned.
Thank you This brought back so many memories.
What an interesting collection. I hope you find an awesome home for them . Some museum or Hockey Hall of fame type place . Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
It was fun hearing the names of so many players, I d long forgotten. As a kid, I knew the stats of most of that Blackhawks team. So long ago.
Very nice collection of hockey history. I think the auction for these ítems will be well attended. I enjoyed this video. 🙂🙂🙂
That's a cool collection. I hadn't heard of Mr. Lunde before. Seeing his personal collection and you telling his history made it fascinating. I was a kindergartner when he started pro playing
The little cat looking in the mirror is so cute.
Incredible collection.
Just an aside, what you called a shoe sizer is a skirt hemmer. It assured that the hem was even as you moved around the skirt with it. 😘
Lol, yes I saw that too☺️ I still have one but nobody wears skirts much anymore🙃
The mini "Barbie" was what we called "Dawn" dolls, loved those!
I had a double take when the Finnish jersey's came on, so I had to google Len Lunde. Your pronounciation of ilves was close, you just also have to pronounce the E. It means lynx in Finnish, which is why it's their emblem. In Suomi you seemed to switch the u and the o for some reason. CCCP means the Soviet Union.
Thanks for the translation of ilves! That explains why the logo looks like a lion with ear tufts. 😻
Watching from Detroit. Love all the Red Wings memorabilia.
Wow, he was busy! Thanks, Alex😊
I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I love hockey!!
That was very interesting to watch. I enjoy your videos and I'm watched more of Melissa's that she's posted, it's been fine. Posted it's been fine😊
As a finn watching this - mind BLOWN!
You make everything so interesting. I’m not much of a hockey fan but I did love to watch when it was only a few teams.
The metal legs with a ruler attached is used to measure the hems of dresses and skirts. When they measured from the garment bottom to the floor.
Very cool collection! Not too many players reached his level. 💖
Len Lunde played with the Minnesota North Stars for some time which I think is super cool since I live in Minneapolis, MN.
Very nice collection ❤
Alex, get in touch W/The Hockey Hall of Fame. I’m sure they’d love to get some of both the NHL & Intl Memorabilia. Perhaps even your local Sports Hall of Fame about the Edmonton Flyers things. I can’t believe the Family didn’t think of donating some/most of the Hockey Collection to the HHOF. That’s where they belong. Both Mom & I watched this in disbelief. I mean…Their Dad played w/how many Legands!?! I”d have been keeping that at least. Do not get it. Anyway…Please consider getting in touch W/the respective Halls & see if they want anything. They reallly are the places they should be going to. Take Care!!
Great find❤❤
Awesome again 🎸🎸 🎸🎸
I have relatives in Finland. My grandmother knew them. One of them wrote a book about the family.
My brother had that hockey sticker book in the early 70s when we lived in Edmonton. I remember my dad bringing home the stickers when he gassed up at Esso. Bobby Hull, Geordie Howe and Bobby Orr were the prized stickers.
You might want to check up with Swedish and Finnish collectors on some of that for a good deal.
Very cool! I have a few Chrissy dolls and a couple of Cinnamon dolls too. One of the Cinnamon was mine from when I was a kid.
My Ken looks like that, minus the talking part. His leg falls off too 😂
This stuff should go to a museum
My Dad was good friends with many of the players of this time period - many who were members of the old timers. He golfed with many and did business with many in off season. My dad would have loved to see this stuff.
The thing you said was a shoe sizer, is for hemming a dress.
I love your sense of humor! You always make me smile!
Great videos!
Thanks Alex!
Your sho sizer is a seamstress hemmer for hemming the bottom of apparel pinned lines for folding than sewing. A white type marker can also be used for making the line (chalk like).
I've been waiting and waiting for you to find a Chrissy doll. I wanted that doll so bad and got it for xmas one year and totally wore out the mechanism for the hair.
Nice little haul ❤
Thats a very good point about the dictionary. I never thought of that.
I have a Giant Websters Dictionary like that! Came out of our old high school library after the building caught on fire. Was a 3 story brick building built in the 20s.
These items definitely deserve to be in a museum!
Thank you
That was fun I learned a lot thanks 😊
Nice jackets, Frölunda in Gothenburg Sweden :) Where im sitting now.
Ilves are my hometown hockey team. Cool stuff!
Wow.. I had a Chrissy Doll, but threw it out. I still have that Ken and that Malibu Barbie with the blonde hair… with her original bathing suit, and with some with some clothes…they’re both from the early 70’s, around 73.. I had a beach buggy, but it got destroyed, and I was so upset. I also still have an Angie doll or (they were like small versions of Barbie dolls)… I have some Flatsy Dolls and a little car for one, but missing the motor cycle for the other… seeing that stuff reminded me that I have those things in my closet
Oh i would love to have a picture of him playing drums
Nice vintage Howe photos.
cool collection
Detroit subscriber, checking in to see early Wings finds!
Wow! Ihad one of those record player dolls, mine had dark hair.
Kesoil jacket looks nice, hello from Finland!
There was a teenage doll who had hair that would grow. Her name was tressy. Her hair could grow by pushing a button and then you could wind it back in as well.
And the button would always break so you'd end up having to shove a bobby pin in the hole! lol
My mum had that doll 😊
Great video 😊😊😊
That thing that you said was a shoe sizer is a hem marker for sewing. So your hem would be even. You would stand on a table while someone moved it around you, pinning up the hem.
The Landstad salmebok is a norwegian origin! 🥰
Id LOVE that Jari Kurri scouting pass. He is my all time favourite player
Good history items
I still have my Chrissy doll. Though I don’t have box anymore, and I think mine might be newer version than the one you have. Mine you didn’t cut the hair. You just pull it out of her head and to shorten it back up you pressed in the belly button and turned a knob in the middle of her back to crank her hair back into her head.
“How was your weekend Ken?” LOL!
I’m always intrigued to see what albums you find especially looking to see if Gordon Lightfoot is included.
When I was a kid, my aunt who lived in St Catharines, Ontario sent my sister and I in New Zealand, chrissy dolls for xmas.
CCCP is the Sovjet Union.
I didn’t play with Barbie dolls as a child, but I did have two of the Rockflowers dolls.
The yellow jacket at 14:00 is from Sweden. Those places that are mentioned on the jacket (Hedemora and Stora Skedvi) are not far from where I live. Cool find!
I believe the medal in the frame goes with the blue box that the necklace was in…
Stora Skedvi is a smaller village not far from me in Borlänge, Sweden =)
CCCP stands for Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. As you pointed out in the video, lol. You might do well with this stuff in the Vintage Sports Memorabilia sections of eBay or Etsy.
I believe the doll in the Twiggy box is a Dawn doll. Why aren't you using your new building to sort these items? Isn't it done yet?
Good Saturday afternoon everyone
so many treasures!
