It's looking really good! Well worth the effort you've put in and I never thought you would get it all done in that short time. I'm sorry you have been so efficient because I was looking forward to more episodes, these are always interesting and enjoyable and lots of families would love owning something like that! Interest will be strong, I'm sure! ❤ XXX
My parents got their first motor home in 1980. They were HUGE Tennessee Volunteer football fans and followed their team all over the US, and actually visited all 48 states they could drive to. Dad was diagnosed with cancer in early 2000s, and they sold their pride and joy. I know they both cried.
Alex you are simply amazing! The work and pride that you put into every project you touch shows, and it means a lot to people, thank you for taking us with you. 🥰
@@CuriosityIncorporated You're so welcome! You and your family have given so many people joy and I have watched you since day one. These past few years have been very tough and I always look forward to your videos thank you so much.
I love the front seats and carpet. The green with the cushion colors give me a Potter house decorating vibe..i love those motor homes like that..good job
My uncle ordered a Travco "Travstar 320" in late- 1975 from Lynnwood Dodge, just north of Seattle. In a short amount of time, it went up to Alaska and stayed up there until the early 2000's when it came back down to the Seattle area and was refreshed. Aunt & uncle used it for a few trips, then they gave it to me. I've put a genuine, French-made LeCarra steering wheel on it (optional starting in '77 or '78), retrofit LED bulbs in the vintage CIBIE fog & driving light housings, full compliment of 7 Alcoa wheels (spare included) and now keeping my eyes open for a 6BT & Allison transmission to transplant in. The well-built, vintage motorhomes are really becoming desirable. Airstream/Argosy, Barth, Clark Cortez, Condor, Foretravel, GMC, Revcon, Travco, Vogue as well as others in good shape aren't bad to own...
Check the furnace for mouse nest. Water heater too!! Just in case!! I believe your Barth is considered a Class A motorhome!! The biggest expense can be the Onan generator. Hopefully it will be as good as the rest of this unit!! Good job Alex!!
Really disagree. That green is too yellow for the time, looks odd with placement and doesn't go well with the orange. First time I've totally disagreed with one of your redos.
Currently, the market is pretty soft for the sales of these motor homes. But since he has only time and minimal other expenses invested, he should make out fairly well if he finds an interested buyer. I sold one during COVID - - but had to come down to around $4K USD.
I love it when a plan comes together! Brother Alexander and Son Team did it! Congratulations. Thanks for sharing Your passion and adventures 😎 👍 ♥️ 💯💯✨️✨️
Great work, Alex! You got it to a good point where someone can really continue on and make it their own without worrying about all the gross/unpleasant stuff.
Kudos to another restoration job well done. Alex, it sure seems like you can take on & complete any task handed to you. I saw another comment about Steven painting a small mural on the side of the Motorhome. What do you think about that idea? God bless you, Melissa & the Kids.🙏🤗💞🇺🇸
I’m really enjoying this renovating video. I’m listening and always do when you redo things. Stephen is quite the helper taking that mess off. This motor home looks great❤️👍
Are your kids turning out to be like their dad, Alex? Is one or all of them eager to take on the family business when you decide (yeah sure!) to put your feet up and retire? Fantastic restoration of the motorhome. It makes ours here in the UK seem so much smaller!
With so many Van life people on the road specially in the US, we are sure you can sell it at a good price, considering all you did to make it road worthy and safe. Good luck
I hope he can get a good price on it because he truly deserves it for all the TLC, and passion he put into it . Not to mention as you say also make it road worthy and safe for the future owner 😊.
If you haven't sold it yet, I'd consider changing the fabric on the seat cushions too, to the fabric of the driver seats. It calms the whole thing down and lifts it up in cleanness too. Mostly because those old cushions just look shabby to my eye, and the newly upholstered front seats look SO much better and cleaner! I think you can ask a lot more for this thing if you do those too. Except I don't know what it'd cost to do that. I can understand you wanting to move it on quickly, but I hope you guys keep "The Bus" for a while longer! It's such a sturdy thing! Can you imagine some cool late 60's paintings on the outside? (just imagine, I don't mean DO, LOL! )
Enjoyed this one a lot, hope you can do some future updates along the way on the less pressing renovations, so good to see this piece of history getting an unexpected new lease of life!
Alex my motor home expert. Honey, it is a job well done. You are amazing. Now you can drive to see your brother in Colorado. It looks beautiful. I would paint the refrigerator doors. Congratulations on your free motor home. Until next time. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🙏🇺🇸🌞❤️👍🕊😇🌈🌹👏
Fabulous Job Alex and Stephen!!!! I can just imagine the history of all the wonderful adventures this motor home has been through!! And now with all the upgrades and hard work you put into getting it running, there will be more adventures to come!!!!! Thank you for sharing this 3 part videos with us!! I love, love, love your videos!!!
I commented about half way through was so.excited about this build but I have to add..I love that green with that wood and I'm very hard to please when it comes to paint
Working your magic again, on something everyone else would have taken to the junk yard! It's looking great! I'm always surprised when they start up and run! Your convertible is beautiful. I would hang on to that. It's like a work of art!
Good find, most RVs from that era had poor construction that one is an exception. With the aluminum roof especially. I had a Winnebago 1972 that I used and repaired for a couple of years most of them are scrap because of leaky roofs and ruined interiors. Your family could really have some fun with that. Those old Onan gen sets are simple. Happy camping.
Great job, Alexander. You breathed new life into this beast of the road. I concur with the person who suggested a mural on the starboard side. I think Stephen could put a magnificent wooly mammoth in that panel. Back home again on the western plains of Canada. 😂
Takes the frig 8 hours to get cold. ....info on line will tell ya how to sanitize fresh water tank. There are inexpensive stainless sink strainers for each drain that are great. They just sit in the sink openings and are easy to clean. Keeps stuff from going into your holding tanks!
Edited: I remember why I hate that green. Our kitchen and dining room floor were painted Sorry but I hate that green color. We lived in a old school house in Washington state. It was that color when we moved in..😅 Light beige would look much better to me, but hey, my opinion doesn't matter. I think it gave me a 1970's headache. We had brown appliances and avocado green small appliances. 🤢 You guys have done an amazing job. You will VERY easily sale it. The drawers in the cupboards were top class back then. Then there's the Happy Hour Bar. 🍸🍹
I just enjoyed these motorhome videos so much. My dad owned a van the big one that we traveled in and it brought back so many memories. Just watching this. We would camp and do all kinds of things. He's gone now, this video warms my heart. I know you said somebody bought it to use as a work building outside their home, which will be so cool and to travel with. I hope we get to see a little bit of that. I don't know if that will happen but that would be cool to see.
Though I love that color green, I painted my front door that same color, it would have looked more cohesive with one of the cushion colors. Or maybe a burnt orange. Just an observation. Other than that you did a fantastic job. I acquired a 1999 FLEETWOOD camper a couple year ago. I have dressed her up cute Inside with new curtains, and sticky wood flooring in the back bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. I love the wood cupboards so I will keep that look but maybe change up the pulls. Outside I too want to paint her and give her a pretty dress after all these years, lol but after replacing the original awning with a permanent awning she looks more happy already. Its fun and satisfying doing a make over. Good luck, as always, in selling it. I am sure someone will grab it up fast.
Be sure to thoroughly check the vacuum brake booster(large piece behind the master cylinder) as the rubber diaphragm will perish and cause your weak braking issue. The old Barth is looking awesome. It just needs some loving. Cheers and keep the great content coming.
Wow ... job well done .... Thanks for sharing.... !!!

I really hope you and the family go visit Heather in it!!@
It would be really neat to have Stephen paint a picture on the the outside panel you just painted
Great idea! A nature mural!
I thought the same thing ! That would be fabulous !!
I thought that's what Stephen was gonna do when he was up there.
Great idea!
I thought that too!!

30:29 I’d be tempted to reupholster the cushions with the same fabric used on the captain’s chairs.
You sure have patience, Alex, and an eye for detail. Another job well done!
You did a great job. I just love your enthusiasm and dedication to your restorations.
1970s motor homes have such a unique aesthetic to them. Excellent job rebuilding it! :) Also, it has more seating than any motor home I've ever seen!
Alex, you are THE vehicle whisperer!! Your stuff always turns out amazing!🤗
Oh, my gosh! You have such a wonderful attitude, Alex!! It's so fun to watch you tackle these things!
Hello there
They did a great job on the seats.
Don't love the green. Orange would have worked better.
Totally agree, orange & brown were all the fashion back in the '70's. My lounge was decorated in those colours back in 77/78. 😂🤢🥴😮
That is a show piece! One of the coolest motorhomes I've seen in quite sometime
I love the front seats and carpet. The green with the cushion colors give me a Potter house decorating vibe..i love those motor homes like that..good job
The perfect tiny home for someone hoping to live off grid .

To seal with foam any little space for mice to go in too… they aren’t “ far”😅
Onan generators are among the industries best brands. There are service centers around the U.S. (and I am sure in Canada as well).
@@urbanurchin5930 yes this is what we do have too on our RV

Spoosh of color.... love it!!!!! Nice seeing the motorhome perked up!
Glad you enjoyed it
Would have been amazing if you could have had josh paint mountain scenery on the side where you stripped off the old stuff x
The touch of green is everything. Good job, Alex and Stephen. 💚
It really is! I was afraid he would paint all the wood, but what he actually did was a really nice touch 👌💚.
Really disagree. That green is too yellow for the time, looks odd with placement and doesn't go well with the orange. First time I've totally disagreed with one of your redos.
I agree. I think a nice orange might have been a better color choice. It still looks really good.
The cosmetic transformation is remarkable. I'm really enjoying this project. Can't wait to hear you sold it for a profit. :o)

Outstanding! So great to see this beautiful land yacht restored.
Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎👍. I disagree the motor home more like The Queen Mary for the road ! LOL !
I love your channel but vehicle restoration projects are my favourite! Thanks for all you do!❤️🇨🇦
The avocado green paint accents are the perfect touch. Wonderful series.

very important that the toilet radio works in a small space like that with paper thin walls . . .
I just wonder what happens when you have a shower?!
I wasn't sure about your color choice , but I like what I see.
Great job Alex once again you have saved a auto machine from the junk heap, love these types of videos👍
I like to green color pop. Great retro reno.
Loved the lawn chair. Should have kept it! 😂😂
The couch at the back of the drivers seat also needs a pop of green
It looks fabulous. Green made it pop and updated it ❤

I like the green. That vinyl and upholstery is in great condition for its age
The reupholstered seats look great too
They paid a pretty penny back in the day for this RV. I love it.

Great work and good that mice didn’t eat through the upholstery
Fantastic redo!! Sure hope you keep the Barth! Family vacations and home away from home if you do your tv show!!

nice job, but I would take those bench cushions with the holes in them to the upholstery shop and find coordinating fabric to replace the bad panels.

The convertible to collect the 9volt for radio toilet heaven is a show stopper 😅
Buy wd 40 in a gallon can, pour in a spray bottle and spray down the engine. Can also oil the underside to keep it from rusting more
You can still put the zip on the cushions can still be hidden. turn them around not over.
This might be my favorite series you have done.
