i used to fight the league and stop before cynthia's fight every morning on the bus to school, so that when i arrived before school opened i could listen to that track.
@High Definition she beat my ass up though after getting through the other four fairly easily a few hits from Garachomp and infernape was done for. I was doomed she was an absolute monster

Cynthia is the best champion hands down! Also my favorite champion battle theme. I remember being so pleasantly surprised when I walked in an found her in the villa in Undella town in black and white. EDIT: I really like when older characters make appearances in the newer games and I love Cynthia as a character (her being fascinated by myths and such). Hence why I was happy to see her again. Weird reaction I know.
without a doubt the most fear inducing random trainer battle in all of black and white. i remember just thinking "fuck me" at at that simple "!" over her head
As if spiritomb wasn't enough of a pain to defeat already. Then she has a Milotic, which is another pokemon that's annoying to take down and reigning above all is that monster of a pokemon, Garchomp. God you know it's a beast when not even the boxart legendary can defeat it one on one when equal in levels Oh and it is rather interesting. To think Cynthia actually visits your mansion if you bought a piano
Weird, I somehow had less trouble with Platinum's Cynthia than I did with the Elite Four in front of her. Let's see... my Lucario Foresighted an "it's super effective!" out of her Spiritomb then somehow outsped her _own_ Lucario for a 2nd KO, my Staraptor learned her Garchomp somehow has NO Rock coverage to its name, Luxray cleaned up both her Togetic and Milotic, and Infernape finished off her Roserade for the win. Cynthia for her part did score some KOs, I was roughly level matched (Lv.56-7) and no items were used during the battle. ...honestly, Foresight saved the whole run because literally the first Pokemon in the entire E4 was a Yanmega spamming Double Team (backed by Speed Boost and Air Slash flinches) which nearly swept my entire team because nobody prepares for evasion strats unless you KNOW it's coming.
@@Stratelierfrom the Pokemon Togekiss and Yanmega (not in base dp, only in base platinum) you were playing platinum, the easier version. You have not felt adrenaline from a video game until you've fought Cynthia with a ten-level disadvantage and having severely underestimated how many healing items you were going to need.
Ouch. A five-level disadvantage is challenge enough ... but _ten?_ ...For those not in the know, due to how Pokemon calculations work, a 10-level disadvantage (around Lv.50-ish) means taking *40%* more damage while dealing *40%* less -- comparable to the opponent having a permanent +1 buff to all stats.
Wow ! I searched for a long time a good version of this song that i love since my childhood, and actually this version is by far better than anything I might expect. Thank you SMB for this masterpiece !!
I've noticed this about Sheet Music Boss's piano remakes of, well, anything: Put at 1.1x speed, it sounds as close to the original's tempo and pace as one can possibly get it.
