that old guy teaching him how to eat clearly just wants free pizza XD
That old man just stole his pizza.
+Steven Silva That's how they get you. It's the old "teach and take". Never trust a Longhorn fan. - PB
+Steven Silva who cares
+Eater - lol. 😂😂😂 "teach and take." they get me all the time.
R. Young You're an idiot. You just elaborated on what I was telling you. I didn't need to re read my comment in a vile way you have described it. Scorning me for pointing out the obvious, that there was a camera present, customers were walking in and out, with this guy talking and asking questions, and then an entertaining gentleman appears, who happens to be a regular. Why wouldn't they get him into the shot? Look at how much pizza the dude ordered anyways. My POINT still stands that he wasn't intrusive at all. With a cameraman and a reporter present ITS NOT INTRUDING.
+R. Young Love how you continue to insist that he was "intrusive" even when the fucking host just told you he wasn't.
Out of the the three hosts, I enjoy watching Lucas the most! He's super chill. More videos more often please! =]
Gosh, I'm fasting and it's an hour to go. Plus we're having pizza today haha
Quilliam Attari what is the point of fasting
Demonic Joker in our religion Islam muslims have to fast for one month it is actually really good for your body from morning to sunset 🌅
This Lucas guy asks some good questions. I was wondering why they pound the dough instead of stretching it, I had no idea stretching causes bubbles.
I’m from SI and I can confirm we have incredible pizza
We miss the thick Sicilian style pizza here in northern Minnesota. I like fresh tomatoes, mozzerella and basil! The colors of the Italian flag!
Staten Island such an underrated borough.
Barardis on castleton ave... brothers on victory blvd...
never been to joe and pats, but it looks fantastic. i agree with you when you said, although the toppings pie or the vodka pie was excellent, the personal choice is the plain pie.. yeah man, hands down I couldnt agree more.
Im a huge pizza guy. its probably my favorite food(and thats saying something, because I like a lot of food), if not a top 3 or something. I try new pizza places every chance i get, and i test the pizza two ways. I go in and ask for a slice, and I call in an order to go. And BOTH are always plain. That way i can see how a fresh slice is, and how the pizza will be out of the box when i eat it at home.
but the reason i get plain pie, is simple. it is the essence of pizza. you cannot bullshit your way through a plain pie. you cannot hide your mistakes under a couple toppings.. no no.. a plain pie is the test of a pizzeria. If the base isn't right, nothing will be right.
from looks alone, This place looks like they know what they're doing.
I am biased (from Chicago). However, when I went to New York and tried the pizza, I kept thinking: "This is delicious but how is this different from general pizza? You know Chicago style because it is unique. New York has the generic triangle long slices. Great ingredients but how is this distinctly New York?"
That old man got hungry from waiting too long so he decided to steal one from Lucas
Haha he took out slice ! Clever guy !
The neighborhood is called Castleton Corners, not Charleston Corners.
Lucas what is next? fast foood chinese in NY?
+Lucas Peterson please do a series on Indian food
2:19 Never expected to somebody in Staten Island or NYC for that matter to be wearing a UT hoodie.
great looking pizza
No, New Yorkers. I'm eating my paid-for pizza however I want. I'll (un)fold it if I want, knife & fork it if I want, or pureé it and eat it with a spoon.
literally this place is 1 block from my grandfathers house
Drooling af.
Pepperoni mushroom, Lucas is a patrician.
3:30 Name of the song ??? Please !
The sad look that Lucas gives @ 3:36 makes me sad as well. Steven strong-armed Lucas' pie. Thumbs up if u agree. :( #safegaurdyourpie
If your father was to see your help ; You would've had cement shoes.
It's true, the best pizza in the United States is found in Staten Island. Manhattan, nah. Brooklyn? Good, but not this good.Chicago, San Francisco, Boston? Don't embarrass yourselves.
That being said, this dude f'd up in two ways:
1) He didn't get the clam pie. Who goes to Joe and Pat's and doesn't get the clam pie!?!
2) He didn't go to Denino's. Joe and Pat's is good, bur Denino's is the shit. If you've never been, go. It will change your life.
All in all, a good video, though.
you cant beat Italian pizza, ice cream or pasta you can only join them.
one of my favorite pizzas is bolognese pizza i don't have it very often but its so good its a cheese pizza with bolognese.
a Chinese American fluent in Spanish wearing a Netherlands jacket. nice.
That is called cultural diversity! ;)
i think it's awesome, it's just crazy.
I've been rooting through the eaters list for your videos...Very interesting analysis. Thanks!
there's something shifty about him that i don't really like
That’s typical in NY and California.
Old man tells him to fold pie in half...
Eats vodka pie without folding
I don't know why but I like this Lucas Peterson guy. Great job Eater
+Zachary Park Same, subscribing because of how good of a host he is. I feel like all of his videos are chill and down to earth.
yeh he is better than the fake Brit
+Zachary Park He's a really polite chill guy who loves what he's doing and you can tell
11/10, would hang out and eat pizza with
I don't know....there's something just unnatural about him like it's "put on" and deliberate. Like an act. The way he walks and the way he touches the food with his hands. Creepy.
damn this is great! never thought about heading over to Staten Island for a food trip but this changes the game!
eyyy both your chanels are tight,
much love from australia!
+Brothers Green Eats thanks for watching!! we love your channel :)
+John Le thanks for the love!!
+Brothers Green Eats
woah.. good seeing u guys here ha!
Brothers Green Eats I'm planning to go to Staten island with my family
3:34 that crafty fucker just wanted a free slice.
Shut up minority, he was right.
why do I watch this when i'm hungry
great profile pic man
#truestory
That old dude just wanted some free pizza lmao
very happy that guy corrected the eating of a slice
I know right?
+Lucas Peterson Haha, glad that guy was there to show ya!
+patrick busche Naaa. I like the normal way :P
If I want a sandwich I'll get a sandwich
+patrick busche Everyone has their "way" of eating pizza. I don't fold, I start at the tip. Enjoy. Peace.
+Jack Wongen Agreed, it's a bit condescending when someone tries to correct or tell you how to eat pizza.
Wow Staten Island getting some recognition! Some other places that you could check out are Denino's, Gennaro's, Goodfellas, and Nunzios.
Also Lee's
RIP Gennaros 😭... Brothers is now the best!
laxfan727 rip gennaros 😭 goodfellas is good
Nunzios yes a good pie !
RIP Nunzios 🙏🏼
I was about to flip a shit with him eating the pizza like that, and then that old new Yorker came to the rescue.
only bums fold pizza, like seriously, go eat a sandwich.
My appetite has now reached death con 5.
+MrYoumitube Defcon 1? you mean?
If I lived in NY I would only live to be 35.
Joe & Pats is one of the best Pizza's in NYC and so are it's offshoots, Pier 79, Molo and Rubirosa. However, why would you use a guy that doesn't know how to eat NYC pizza for best pizza in NYC? Get this herb outta here!
As a Brooklyn transplant from Staten Island, a LOT of people undermine the cuisine of this borough. If I'm not mistaken, 1 out of 3 people are of Italian descent on Staten Island. It definitely has the best pizzerias in NYC if not the world. If you get a chance, Denino's has pretty spectacular, unusual pies and the original location of Ralph's ices is located across the street. Ralph's is only open in the warmer months.
I wouldn't say the world lol. Italian pizza from Italy is leaps & bounds better than Staten Island pizza. I also revoke d trying the pizza at eataly
@@JJJosh949 Nah. Italian pizza is not better than New York. I've had a lot of both. Pizza may have been created in Italy, but it was perfected in New York.
we all immigrated here from brooklyn.
@@JMAZZ80 ✔️🎯
"It's so incredibly thin!!" No my friend, that is how a pizza is supposed to be and how it's normally served anywhere outside of the US.
Most countries actually suck at making pizza. American pizza (not from chains or away from the east coast) is pretty good. Italian pizza is obviously the best.
i was gonna comment that u were all wrong and brooklyn has the best nyc pizza but i saw that crust and it spoke for itself
gotta go try this place
why did Stan Lee steal Lucas's Pizza
Because Spiderman took his.
That's not a pizza!! You all have to come to Italy if you want to taste a real pizza!! Hi from Italy!!
Folding the slice is practical, but the pizza tastes better when you eat it ordinary.
cant agree more. the bread to cheese ratio just totally gets messed up if you fold it imo
+SnowTheGoon i eat the first half straight then fold it.
And Qi Well you're correct, but the point where the slice bend there will be more bread. Also the cheese will "fall" off, getting "disorganized" by folding it.
This is a serious thing, no one should have their pizza folded, it has a severely negative impacts on life.
The slice is gone twice as fast when you fold it. I like to savor my pizza. =)
Pizza pie, you call that because its TOO thick! It made me laugh when you said "thin Neapolitan style", but it comes close I can tell you that..Google Neapolitan pizza right now and take a look. Lemme tell you, European pizza is very different, if you ever have the opportunity to eat at a real Italian restaurant do it, try real pizza, it will blow your mind! But that old dude, he knows his Pizza! XD
GODDAM RIGHT YOU GOLD YOUR PIZZA IN HALF IN NY you may speak a million languages but you deff aint a new yorker ahahahahhahaha
Yeah I'm sure it's really good but every person has its own opinion on their pizza, see for me as a pie maker for manny years that's to thin, you must have a good crust to make a perfect pizza, and to my taste coming from NJ this pizza is just to thin, but I must say that fried calamari pizza looked really good but as far as the best pizza goes, just by the way it looks it's no where close. From 1-10 my vote a solid 4.
Try Not Ray's pizza in brooklyn. Definitely gives this place some competition. I think the reason why this place in staten island is overlooked is because getting to staten island is ridiculously out of the way. It's time they built a tunnel to let the subway connect staten island with either brooklyn or manhattan
It's adorable that Lucas didn't know to fold the pizza.
Funny deethy, I was thinking "It's adorable how Lucas eats his paid-for pizza however he damn well wants."
Pepperoni and mushroom? Weird. Do 1/2 sausage & mushroom, 1/2 onion & olive, and the 3rd half, cheese less with extra no cheese.
I like Lucas, he has that air of good guy around him. I would like him as my Big brother and a mentor.
I'm curious, what do you mean with "Neapolitan style pizza"? Here in Italy it means that the pizza is thicker than usual, not thinner.
Damn! I miss a great NY pizza! I'm extremely jealous. But yeah, folding the slice is the way to go. Makes it easier to eat too. Never knew SI had good pizza - or good anything for that matter. I always just made fun of it because if the stench from the landfills.
Another great video. Looking forward to more. Greek food next maybe? From Queens? Or obviously some Chinese from Chinatown or Flushing?
Don't worry Staten Island got rid of the landfill and is making a park out of the whole thing. And Staten Island got one of the best pizzas in NYC! Brooklyn has some good pizza too
Pple always talk about S.I having a lot of Italians and don’t expect good pizza out here is so backwards lmfao that’s all S.I got to offer is pizza
SI pizza has always been good just like the rest of NY
Damn, that pizza looks real good, nice and thin too!
Want the best pizza in New York State? Try O'Scunizzo's in Utica. You won't regret it.
Honestly it really doesn't matter how you eat a certain type of food....i will always eat how I want to.
DO NOT FOLD A PIZZA . YOU FOLD IT A BIT TO HAVE MAKE IT RIGID OR have some SUPPORT. #pizzanotsandwich
Lol, Joe and Pats is up the street from me, but its a little overpriced, try Denino's
I want pizza now!!
Haha did that guy in the hoodie say 'minchia'? It's great if that word has made it even to NY.
Pizza so thin, Apple bought the company and used the tech in their next iphone
2:13 Did he steal Stan Lee's voice?
True believers fold their pizza slices.
That pizza looks great, but it's not even close to Neapolitan.
Queens has by far the best pizza in the city. It's just too big for these little video makers to explore thoroughly
Shots!
#NewParkPizza
Daniel Maryanovsky nggah
Daniel Maryanovsky Staten Island and Brooklyn have the best pizza followed by Queens and then Manhattan and the Bronx....well idk if they even know what pizza is hahahaha jk kk
MOSxNY from Bk in SI now SI pizza is better like really I feel there’s no comparison lol it’s like saying SI got better West Indian restaurants than Bk 😭😭😭
La Piazza on Richmond Avenue is a good representation of SI/BK pizza. Joe and Pat's is more or specialty place. Fried chicken diavolo slice
Joe & Pat's is a true SI classic, but Staten Island has an entrepreneurial spirit so many new restaurants appear here all the time. Once upon a time you'd find people who swore by Joe & Pat's, but now, we have a smorgasbord of choices. Unlike Brooklyn, where it's 95% the same sauce, cheese, and dough bought from wholesalers to every joint in town, Staten Island has a lot of old world, and progressive pizza makers. The rules are out in SI, and we have so many great pies, it's hard to decide these days. It is becoming foodie paradise.
"You're right"
Proceeds to continue eating without folding.
FK!! NEVER WATCH pizza videos at night before sleep + hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
BEST PIZZA IS IN BROOKLYN!!! =]
I'm willing to bet all the pies in the world that they don't report their payroll taxes correctly. But, the pizza compensates for any violations which MAY exist. Joe and Pat's are coming to 1st Ave near 14th St in Manhattan so one needn't head over to Staten Island to enjoy their pies.
this guy needs to work on his adjectives. very very very really really really
dude has an awesome job
I've watched a lot of "best pizza" videos but this one is truly a beautiful looking pie the way others were not. Damn I wish I could try it!
2:27 I feel like those kinds of plates are the best to eat pizza off of.
The only issue here is that one of the workers is a jets fan and not a giants fan
Is that really the best pizza you can get in NY?... I hope you will eventually get an opportunity to try proper pizza... you should probably have a trip to italy
by the way the first of those looks much more like a real pizza: ua-cam.com/video/34iHI80QP9A/v-deo.html
i'm making pizza tonight. I was going to wait until tomorrow but I can't take it anymore. I have to have PIZZA!
why does no-one know what Neapolitan style pizza is?
IL fornos on staten island is the best sicilian pie i ever had
If you fold a pizza in half
*DOES IT MAKE IT A SANDWICH!?!?*
A calzone
only tourists thinks the best pizza are in Manhattan
In manhattan i always end up getting the $1 pizza. They tastes so good esp after a night out !
"brought the recipes over from Italy" I saw a "pepperoni" pizza there lmao
+EleGiggle you can actually find pepperoni pizza in every pizzeria here in Italy, we just call it in another way ("diavola", the she-devil:), and use a kind of "pepperoni" very similar to the ones shown in the video.
Theres nothing Italian or traditional about 'pepperoni' pizza. It's an American invention. Look it up.
+EleGiggle Also been around since 1960, did it occur to you that they might have changed a few things up along the way?
lieedd Since 1960? lmao, look at when pizza was first invented. Please, you couldn't sound any more stupid.
Next time I'm on Staten Island I have to check this out. Vodka sauce on pizza, sounds like a great idea.
If you are near Pratt Institute (Bed Stuy/Clinton Hill area) check out Tony's Pizza Spot at Classon/De Kalb, BK. Full Moon at 187/Arthur Ave. BX makes a killer slice.
That guy said let me get a "slice" of Sicilian & then when the Sicilian came out it was actually a slice (in half)
I hate thin pizza😅 I love mine thick💖😂
finally a decent food channel. tired of "chicagos best"-cringe clips
Yeah I'm surprised I used to like Chicago's Best lol... Good job Eater!
As the video said, Staten Island brought in many Italian immigrants, and these Italian Immigrants introduced pizza to us and they kept making it. The Italians are why Staten Island have the best Pizza. If you don't want to cross the Verrazano Bridge for 15-20 Dollars (thats how much it costs to cross it), either take a ferry or eat at a Pizza in Queens or Manhattan (in queens, eat at Middle Village, they have lots of Italians but they all make GOOD PIZZA)
Go to Umberto’s on Long Island and get a Grandma Pie/Slice. They invented the Grandma Pizza and it’s AMAZING.
It’s also the preferred Pizza Plsce for the NY Giants. Look it up.
''my father brought over the recipe'' i bet that was the case...most italians didn't even eat pizza back then,it only became big in America
A restaurateur on Munchies works at a pizza joint located in the same borough as the channel. His joint is dubbed Best Pizza. Why? It's assumably the "best pizza" in Brooklyn. "Don't make pizza with marsh water!"
I'm not a pizza folder... sorry... I was when i was 5, but its a pizza not a sandwich... Idk, maybe sometimes... but as a NYer, i'ma go ahead and say this definitely is NOT a rule at all
a truly amazing series and i am dying to fly from singapore to new york to try all of lucas' recommendations; lucas is also super cute
I know the Pappalardos...the debate is always between Joe & Pats & Deninos...I lived around the corner from J&P....Its good...but Deninos is the Staten Island king...no question.
What happened to the original conceit of this series? All these NYC episodes are way more than a "dime". The LA episodes were mostly inexpensive places, but these just seem like normal priced places.
I will disagree with something the host said in the beginning. As a native Staten Islander, there were plenty of Italians and Italian neighborhoods, on Staten Island, long before the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge was even conceived let alone built. While the total number of Italians and Italian-Americans is greater since the bridge was built, the percentage of the population is actually less, today, than before the bridge was built.
Am I only person who thinks pizza is an over-hyped, greasy, unhealthy, carb laden food? And it's not even that great, there are tastier foods in this world. Not hating on pizza lovers. Just my opinion.
nice badoinkadoink in the background
