Excellent instruction, very calming voice.
One of the better videos I've seen so far. I wish you would have shown how to use a mounting ring however.
The setup I bought has instructions that look like a bad google translate job and illustrations that are so small and blurry they are pretty much useless.
That was very helpful.
Please do not try to wipe off any silicone from visible parts with a damp cloth. All you will succeed in doing is smearing it and leaving a residue which will eventually attract dirt. Use a cloth dampened with alcohol.
Thank you.
Would I use the silicone in addition to using my sink mount?
need a diagram for hometrendz vanity vessal will install
What type of silicone is used?
If the vessel comes with a gasket for the top stopper section do you still to add a bead of silicon?.
I dint ...and all is good
1:36 good sinks for golf club clubhouse.
Just be sure you get a drain kit that does not have an overflow slot.
This video should just be called, how to silicone a counter top sink.
Some codes require an overflow, what drain would you use in this case?
A different sink.
Hi I'm trying to change out a vessell sink, without breaking it is that possible?
This is what I'm wondering
Where can I get hold of the drain hole drilling fairy?
I did it. I'm a 51 year old woman. I was nervous, but I did it sucessfully.
Same...was so nervous but did it ...go us!
I got a set of round cup-shaped drill bits for cutting holes in tile/stone and put them in my cordless drill. It's best if you use water to lubricate them, so after I used marker to make a circle where the hole would go, I made a little 'dam' around it on top of the counter using tape (one time I used electrical tape, another, red Tuck tape) and put just 1/8th inch water in that.
Unless you have a plastic drill guide, start your drill at a 45 degree angle, and once it is spinning, touch the edge of your cup bit against one spot on the outer edge of your marker circle.
Gradually increase speed and pressure and begin to make a small rough spot into the counter along your circle line - it will jump and wiggle, so be prepared. Keep the drill going and gradually move it to a more upright position. That little rough spot will help your bit to catch and not skate all over your countertop. Once you have your drill bit staying in one spot, you can put the drill full perpendicular and use it with more speed to carve the whole circle and drill through. Add drops of water as needed to keep the cup bit from overheating and making an awful screech.
I suggest having an old towel a few inches under your counter to keep the mess to a minimum.
Hi there, do you use the sink mount?
+tresa smith A sink mount was not used in this video. Using one is not mandatory to successfully install your vessel sink. Conforming to the curved bottom of the basin, the mounting ring adds subtle style to your space. The ring also acts a buffer between the sink and countertop so if you wanted to switch sinks, you wouldn’t have to worry about scraping off the silicone adhesive that holds the sink in place.

For those who don't know... A "sink mount" is a disc about 3 inches in diameter, about 0.5 inch tall, with a hole in the center to allow the drain pipe to pass through. This device is installed on bowl-shaped vessels, between the bottom of the vessel and the countertop on which the vessel is to be mounted. It is often a chrome-plated metal, and often has a flat bottom and a groove in the top for a rubber gasket in which the vessel seats. One advantage to installing a sink mount is cleaning; it's far easier to clean the counter under the sink WITH a sink mount installed than not. Otherwise, the curvature of the vessel tends to block the ability to clean the countertop entirely under the sink.
Do you need to use a mounting ring under the vessel sink?
This is a great question! While a mounting ring is not absolutely necessary for installing a vessel sink, it provides a barrier between the sink and the counter for extra sink protection. They also come in handy when the vanity top material is not completely smooth. Also, some people just prefer the look that the ring gives, as it adds a little height to the bowl. I hope this answers your question.
@@SignatureHardware-SH The problem I'm having with the mounting ring now is I don't think the caulk is touching the countertop with the mounting ring. Should I remove the mounting ring at this point?
@@NanookiePookie We are unable to speak for other brands, however, our mounting rings will not need to have silicone or caulk applied to them. There is a silicone gasket on the top, and a rubber o-ring on the bottom to create the seal. The drain will hold everything in place.
@@SignatureHardware-SH without a ring you cannot clean underneath. And eventually it will leak. You're a dillhole, you did a ghetto job
It is multi purpose silicone sealant right?
Yes! Most silicone sealants are. In general, you want a 100% silicone that's clear.
Am I the only one who thinks this guy looks like a skinny Thomas Haden Church? 😂
Vessel sink is not suppose to be able to turn right? Ots supposed to be tight mine is so loose making guy come back to do it properly the only reason I am because he charged me 380.00 plus a 100.00 because with the excitement failed to tell him flush against the wall so to not Un hook anything and move it less than 2.5" he charged me additional 100.00 my opion he has never installed a Vessel sink if I knew how easy it was I would of did it myself

The instructions that came with my bowl sink doesnt say anything about sealant
Hi! You will need to use a silicone sealant for the areas indicated. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 855.715.1800. Thanks!

if u have kids. this style of sinks sucks cause it's not bolted to the counter, it will always tip as they lean on it and break the seal.
Not helpful.
Your answer was not helpful because you did not explain *why the video* was not helpful.
@@elizamay6402 Anybody can seal a sink on a board.
