    LOVE this. If the team is afraid to break things, nothing will ever get done. Fearlessness is the key to success. The most junior member of the team has the biggest opportunity to blow everyone away with a new perspective or a reality-shifting insight.

    Not the main focus, I know, but her accent is amazing.

      Right?! It distracted me from listening to her actual words, haha

      That's actually my focus rn cuz I'm working on my major paper for my Linguistics about the phonological description of an English speaker.

      @@Miikhiel lol, it did the opposite for me. The accent is what attracted me to her and wanted to hear more.

      @@carriejohn7665 Scottish, she actually does comment on her accent and mentions she grew up in Scotland around 5 minutes in.

    Thanks for the this lovely talk and video. You allowed me to reflect on my journey from a micromanager to where I am now a nurse leader transitioning from a servant leadership need of the team to a transformational leadership style due to the team, department and organization needs. My heart resonates with servant leadership. Thank you for the insight.

    Wonderful subject Liz, I had the pleasure to observe your leadingship, being the servant leader is not the easy choice to do, you make it come true, the fail fast mindset where you create psychological safety for the team is indeed very important, thank you for sharing, very inspirational.

    In my experience the "boss" usually just blames the larger organization and a culture of dysfunction, without realizing their participation in that dysfunction.

    I highly admire your lived experience Liz as a servant leader in that France decision and your simultaneous decision to leave the company although there was a promotion coming. Your heart of hearts decision making, to me, show what true servant leadership is all about. Thanks for speaking up Liz. Need to hear this myself as a servant leader in the Philippines. I reach out to poor communities and psychological safety is key to experiencing transformation in the lives of young women mothers and their families. Cheering you on Liz

    this was a great presentation, but when it comes to leading with the heart, I don't believe it is a complete form of leadership, for instance, her leaving the company because of her colleagues don't necessarily mean she had integrity and loyalty to her colleagues, she wasn't the owner, and letting go these 400 employees wasn't her decision, that is one of the downsides of leading with heart per se.

    • @margaretabuandaway6234
      @margaretabuandaway6234 3 роки тому +2

      I think she decided to leave the org bcoz it was her choice to recommend France and I think her decision to leave was to have peace within herself being part of the difficult consequence of seeing her colleagues laid off. I highly admire her lived experience of servant leadership. She defined the concept by being a role model.
