Very sharp review! This guy knows his stuff. I'm a woman of 64 and struggle so much with removing the filter container and replacing it...so much so that I will be selling it just as soon as the blue filter thing dries.
Thank you so much! If you're wanting a lighter weight machine with less filter maintenance, I'd recommend the Bissell PowerLifter Bagged Pet. You can find those on Walmart dot com, often for around ~$80, or you could get the cheaper powerforce bagged vacuum if you don't mind it not having as long of a cord. Bagged machines are usually much easier to maintain. You can also get Clean Fairy HEPA bags for $18 on amazon, and you'll get 20 bags, which should be enough to last you at least a year, and give you much better filtration. Hope this helps!

Jeff Pruett strangely enough it didn’t give me any trouble when I tried it again. I just screwed it on and it lined up. Good luck to you, I know it’s super frustrating.
Thank you. I wanted to learn a bit more about this vacuum because my landlord lets myself and the other tenants in my apartment borrow it for vacuuming our apartments. The floor of my apartment is a thin carpet, and I know in the video you said that this vacuum is not the best for hard floors and thin carpets, so that's too bad.
We were needing a new vacuum, perticularly one good with pets but also HEPA, with times like these we wanted to make sure anything to help with that would be while cleaning the floor. This was the first one we tried, and at first ran great, actually brought our carpet back to life as many described on the reviews but then it started doing odd things..such as the wheels started to make this terrible screeching noise, to then i saw dust or dirt like sand stuck to the bottom hose near the wheels and the rewind cord was very hard to pull and rewind back, i called hoover, took a bit to get someone on the phone and then after multiple questions they suggested they could find a local tech but while we were already having a mess with techs with our washing machine, we were not wanting to jump into another tech situation and we were still in the time frame of just returning it, so we figured maybe it was a used one that was returned so we tried another, it ran better for a few days longer but started doing the same things but the cord did better is the only plus, so i called hoover again and they had me run some tests on it like dropping a coin down the hose that has the button to see if it dropped through or not, and it did, so then they suggested to have it registerd for the repair center of theirs to call us to either run more testing or send it to them and could take a month before all is settled, so we just took it back again, its been a long haul, and we even then tried the one that was higher up in price, the home one, its red, it was lighter to push, easier access to the button to turn on but picking up dirt and so forth did terrible, tried to give it a chance, but we ended up returning it. i really did like the elite rewind but dont understand why it collected and had dirt stuck to it or the wheels squeeking, even hoover did not know why. ive looked high and low for other vacuums for reasonable price and for our living circumstances but its so difficult, if someone can share how to fix these problems, i may try it again and hope they were from a bad batch and maybe third is the charm.
11:06 today at my local Walmart you were right about the dusting brush and it’s not because it was worn out but no it is an actual dusting brush because I felt the dusting brush and it was completely soft
I am thinking of buying this for vacuuming the front and back porch at my house because my bissell vacuums don’t have good filtration and the reason why I am gonna buy it because of the good filtration like you said in the video where you vacuumed your back porch with your purple Hoover elite rewind you said that dust will get in the motor when you vacuumed with your bissell clean view and I don’t want dust to get in the motors in all of my bissell vacuum cleaners especially my bissell powergroom bagless because it is my most favorite vacuum and also my bissell powerswift compact The handle can also be used as a extension wand and it also has another extension wand where the crevice tool fits inside of it

I've had no issues with this particular elite. The issue if squeaky wheels is normal, and some WD-40 will smooth those up. I'd also recommend wiping off the bottom of the vacuum so nothing builds up there, and beyond that, make sure the height adjustment is adjusted correctly. Infiltration is a priority, check out the Windtunnel Bagged Tempo, it's a good choice, also the bissell powerlifter bagged pet is a good option as well as the Shark navigator lift away if you for sure want bagless, though I recommend bagged machines more often since they're easier to maintain and have better filtration.
@Intellitech Studios @6:56/30:42 My high performance windtunnel has that hose latch too. i have seen failures of them breaking and that does get annoying when vacuum rugs and wall to wall carpet. if mine does that then i'm going for a shark vertex or preferably a bagged unit. possibly another hoover or a sanitaire. so i am aware of that issue. i miss having a vacuum with a ball bearing beater bar and direct suction because they just seem to loosen the deep down junk that gets walked on and pushed all the way into the carpet.
Hedrick Redd this is a good option in the hundred dollar range, in the 50 dollar range, the bagged PowerForce is pretty much the best cheap vacuum you can get
First of all I thought it was a good buy for the money what should is but I found out when I plugged it in its very loud I've been buying Hoover's for a long time and I find out it doesn't even have a light on it most upright movers and other vacuums have a light on it he forgot to mention about the lights when he was doing the demonstration on the Hoover rewind plus this is Pete and I was just letting you know and I like the color of my the Hoover it looks like my old one I like the switch on the foot it's a lot easier the attachments were better way better than the ones that are on this new one I want to bring it back it's too loud and it doesn't have a lights on machine this powerful should have a light vacuum but sometimes that life comes in handy because you don't want to pick up a penny or something like that and maybe damage the machine that is my comment too loud and there's no light overrated machine for sure but not bad for the price if you want to have earmuffs while you're using this machine and there's no light that pisses me off
The hose holds in place with a button. Click the button and the hose comes off. If theres no suction, checks for clogs and make sure the filter is clean
I just got this vacuum at Walmart tonight, and most of my rooms in the house are carpet...will this vacuum last for a long while and was the walmart warranty worth it?
Yes! This machine is built very well. If you're not too rough with it, and you keep up with belt, brush and filter maintenance, it will last a long time. Personally, I don't see the necessity in the extended warranty, but it definitely doesnt hurt to have it, just in case!
Great review. Pity we dont get these in the UK - even though we get TTI machines badged as Vax rather than Hoover, they dont sell the Elite here. Its also pretty unheard of to get an upright with a cord rewind - we just have to wrap the cord up on cord hooks on the back of the machine. Since the EU rules on power consumption took effect in 2017 its also limited our vacuums to 900W max, which equates to the US equivalent of 7.5 Amps - thats it, we get nothing more powerful than that, and many vacs here are now as low as 350W (3 Amps US) which is pretty pathetic really, although the majority of bagless uprights tend to be around 700W or 5.8 Amps. We dont get any budget Bissel bagless uprights either, after 2014, Bissell seemed to pull out of the UK market for some years, but they do now do a few mains powered vacs here again, but they are high end and not cheap to buy. So yeah, the US seems to get so much more choice than we get here, we just seem to get the same old re-hashed 2015 technology Vax machines and precious little else in the sub £100 category. Prices have definitely gone up since the EU brought in the new regulations here, and whilst Shark are always bringing out new corded designs, TTI really aren't doing the same. Hoover in the UK is not owned by TTI like it is in the US - our Hoover brand was owned by Candy, but Candy got taken over by Chinese giants Haier a little while back, and we have seen a few new models, but prices are higher than they used to be.
That's really unfortunate to hear. On the bright side, you at least have a plethora of refurbished older models of machines like Dyson that you can get for seemingly not too much, as well as the older machines that were manufactured before the EU regulations took place. So at least you still have some options, but I do agree that it's frustrating to not have nearly as many choices on the market.
