Girl, don’t apologize for crying or being emotional. It means you feel, you have a soul, a heart, you understand hurt and pain, and you’re kind-hearted and empathetic. I love this song too. It’s sad that her dream with her husband didn’t work out, but hopefully her ex will not do the same to their kids as her father did to her.
It’s ok to cry. It’s a part of being caring and human.

I’m crying...my heart is breaking for her during this. He only wanted her when she was rich and famous. It’s the worst when it’s a parent, they’re supposed to love you unconditionally.

I was raised dirt poor in a coal mining town in West Virginia. We didn't have material things and even at times food was hard to come by, but I had a wonderful father and mother who raised me in a Christian home. They were there for my brother and me always. They never went anywhere unless we tagged along too. Times have changed and I see it every day of mothers or fathers raising their children without a partner. For those who do, wrap your arms around your children and let them know how much you love them. May God Bless all of you.

Kelly tried to get to know her dad, but he didn't want anything to do with her. She finally just accepted that fact. Since then, her dad passed away last year. She got married and her husband showed love to their daughter like her father should of with her. Unfortunately, now Kelly and Brandon(her husband) are getting a divorce. Their daughter is six years old. They also have a son that's four years old. Kelly is very humble, talented, positive, loving, and kind. In my opinion, she's the best. She can sing anybody's song and make it sound like it's her own.

It ok to cry. Seen this performance plenty of times and it still never ceases to make me cry.
What blows me away about your reaction is not your ability to hold back tears but how directly and clearly you nailed the core wound this creates in children and then the feeling of hope mixed with anger when they return to reap the benefits by playing the parent card on a child the put no love into. Brilliantly said, damn. The ability to find the right words and articulate stuff that heavy on the spot is a talent not given to all of us.
I really enjoyed that about your insightful response to this, as it’s also my story, except my Mother did it too because I was just a way to trap a man into paying for her while she went to college and replaced him. My Gran raised me from age 11to 15 but she’s been dead for 35 years and I have never married or had children, because of this wound that won’t heal. I still miss her. 🤷🏻
This is even more heartbreaking knowing now that her husband has left her too ! Kelly is so much stronger now though - Can't wait until she releases the next tracks of her new album. She's going to make him yip !!

I can relate completely to Kelly because when I was six years old it felt like my dad walked out of my life he didn't but I never saw him he lived a while away from me because my parents got a divorce and it was awful. Two years after they got a divorce it was crazy my mom moved to Virginia they had a big court case about who was going to keep me and my sister and my mom one because we're two girls we did our mom. And so I lived 9 hours away on a plane ride from my dad so some twice a year. And it was hard to see my mom miserable we didn't have very much money cuz my dad took most of it. And all of the struggles that have happened to me gave me depression anxiety and panic attacks at 6 years old. Then my mom had a guy named Eddie who changed our whole life she made her happy which made me happy. He was always there for her and didn't leave like most people would wouldn't they found out that she had two kids. He picked her back up and he pick me back up and I love my parents very much both of them. But I didn't have a father figure in my life because I saw my dad twice a year and so when he came into our lives it was almost like I had a father figure again and he just made everything better. I got a bunch of legal things got involved and my sister became a teenager and started to Rebelle and I feel like my world was crashing down again. but through the whole thing he stayed with us no matter how rude my sister was too hip what troubles life threw at is he was always there. And I'm so grateful for that. In the song where she says the part about the girl is not going to have to tell her worried is not going to have to tell her worried because he's not going to break her heart he's going to put her first and take care of her that really gets to me because that's what Eddie did for my mom. and now we have a better house than I could have imagined we have a dog and we're okay my life isn't perfect because I still face family troubles but I realize that in life you need to look at the positives not the negatives like I had food shelter water clothes and their kids who don't have that so I'm very grateful for what I do have. Every time I friends goes through some things I tell her when you look at me you see a fun smart outgoing nice loving girl. You Don't See a girl who's had depression and anxiety and panic attacks. you don't see a girl who has confidence issues and been teardown many times. You don't see a girl who has family issues. and I think that's how you have to look at life all the amazing things that happened in life not all the awful things.
I am glad they everything worked out in the end and hope that happiness comes your way always.
