- Aliyah Boston finished with 12 PTS and 7 REB, while Caitlin Clark had 9 PTS, 7 REB and 6 AST, but the Fever fell to the Liberty 102-66 in their home opener on Thursday night.

Fire the coach!
This coach is clueless. She would make Larry Bird play with his back to the basket and tell Michael Jordan to stop showing off. She has been given the keys to a Ferrari and won’t take it out of the neighborhood, just cruise around in 1st gear. She needs to go or Caitlin will run to Europe.
The Coach is swapping out one trash bag for another and not even playing their second round pick
Actually the team is filled with all American players on the roster. The problem is she’s playing Clark who should be coming off the bench. Mitchell is a much better player than Clark yet for some reason she’s coming off the bench. Clark plays no defense and that worked in college, but not in this league. Clark has a huge target on her back and it’ll stay there for as long as she’s in the league.
Clark is a Honda in the wnba! She can only play offense and has no defense. There are easily 20-25 players better than her right now, but she has the hype for many reasons. Stewart won 4 straight college championships which is unheard of, but nobody cares about that. They care about Clark shooting from the logo lol. Good luck being entertained by that

Fever women- Get on the treadmills. Increase your speed. Get some consistently good sleep. Low to no alcohol. (Sorry, but it messes with sleep and mental clarity.) Work on the mental and speed aspect, and once that’s there you’ll gel a lot better. Slow mind slow body. Study on avoiding fouls. Caitlin - Get comfortable doing what you do. Your defense was much better tonight, and you need that, but remember what got you here. Build your calm confidence. Shoot your shots. And when you get a chance, take a day or two to yourself. I cannot imagine you’ve had much time to process your experience so far in general. Coach Sides - They did better tonight. Coach them on closer defense without unnecessary physicality, for their own sake. And no reason for either of these teams to be arguing. Takes too much energy. I saw Bluder. Hope some convos happen for the sake of building a great team.
TO NEW YORK - thank you for playing cleaner than Connecticut. You won the game with a lot less unnecessary aggression and mocking. You blocked professionally and you didn’t put literally 1 person on Caitlin the entire night… you actually played a game.
You can't "hard work" to Clarks' skill level. NEW COACH and some TRADES, ASAP, girls who CAN and WANT to be in Clark's game.
@@user-gy2xh1sp9s I respect your opinion. It’s mine that these women wanted to win bad tonight, but lost some steam, need some more chemistry, and to tone up their game. I want Caitlin to be able to play at her max talent, which means the coach and entire team have to be dedicated to upping their focus, studying, practicing, and adjusting any lifestyle habits that are in the way. I’ve seen them supporting Caitlin and her having more fun lately. I think this team has a lot of potential, but they’ll have to put in the hard work.
Fans aren't going to put up with terrible play. They'll stop showing up. They got blown out twice in a few days.

I thought Wheeler was decent passing the ball. The main issue I'm seeing with team is the inability to finish around the rim. Wheeler dumped multiple passes into bigs in this game only for them to blow the short shot. This has of course happened to Clark at times as well. Boston interestingly enough has been one of their worst finishers at the basket. She is rushing a lot of her shots down there.

Its called defense, she is being defended, she didn't get a lot of that in colleges. She needs to adjust. Teams aren't going to let her run a muck because people came to see her.

Trade Erica wheeler, fire sides, ask Linn Dunn to step down or retire as manager, make clark the ball handler, hire her college coach, make big adjustment to fever line up, Aliyah you need to loose weight, your feet are to slow under the rim. Get a male manger in the nba or g league, reconstruct the entire fever program.
Start at the top GM then coach they don't know how to build a team or draft. For this particular team they needed interior help. They should have drafted Brink. This team as is it's not set up for Clark.
Wheeler definitely needs to go now. she has been playing without any idea of teamwork in last season although she can score. Coach Sides should have been gone too after two seasons as I can tell she really do not have good tactics in the games.
It's Clark or bust. You have maybe one more game to get it right or flush the golden opportunity down the toilet.

The fever are horrible, this much is true. But most times, the best player on a team, looks like the best player on the team. At this point, she is just as terrible as the rest of them. And the coach seems horrible as well.
no offense to anyone, no blaming the coach or particular players BUT what the he77 was THAT?! looks like they (Fever) have no plays....they set up the same on each end of the court....no one is seldom in the paint. CC is a guard and have the same amount of rebounds as the center? I think I saw several shots that didnt even hit the rim, missed wide open lay ups, missed FREE throws. shouldnt there be set plays to arrange for CC to shoot 3's? or are they eliminating that option, running no plays, evereyone sets up outside the paint, almost to the three point line and everyone take turns trying to make a basket? Or was the Fever coach using the opportunity to ensure everyone got to play. isnt that what they do in pre-school and little kids teams? i read or heard several storylines from the coach, Dunn, and others during separate interviews emphases they are a "young" team yet its the Fevers 25th anniversary year. Maybe coaches and upper management are ensuring the team loses so they stay at the lotto of the rankings so they can draw more 1,2,3 place picks in next years lottery and draft. I dunno but I doubt I would pay those bucks to pack a seat to watch this. hats off to the Liberty players. they played well.

Chillax, people. The Fever weren't able to draft CC because they were good last season. They're going to have a sub .500 record into June... we knew that. It's good they're playing against top teams early on. You have to walk before you can run... hold out until after the ASG. They'll figure it out. Some of it is coaching and some of it is lack of execution by the players. If they don't "figure it out" (it's bball, what's there to figure as pros) by the ASG, Sides by then needs to go.
Agreed. Way too early to figure out what's good and what's bad. They look exactly like what they are: a new team. Lest we forget the Iowa team played for 4 years together. You don't become a well oiled machine in two games.
@@cured808 Thanks! I received a lot of 'digital hate', lol. I'm still going to post what I think and I learn from others along the way... how adults SHOULD behave, js. After the Liberty game, Sides obviously has NOT done her HW or job in preparing for CC. The Fever AND Sides knew that they were going to pick CC and to take the NBA as a model of success (in professional basketball)... Sides should have already had a game plan in place to work around CC's play style. As soon as wnba teams were permitted to meet (by the CBA), Sides should have been working on that modified game plan with their current known roster. Boston is way out of shape, the GM & Sides should have been all over her lack of fitness from the moment Boston reported in to training camp... the physios should have been working on the team from the start (of this season). That's just basic pro-bball business, people highly paid to do their jobs. No one (knowledgeable) expected the Fever to be at .500 heading into June, facing the top teams early will pay off. However, after last night's game, Sides is running the same failing game plan they ran last season (which got them CC). The first game was crazy, players blowing it throughout but considering the first two games... they're running the SAME strategies they ran last season but it's not the same team. That is 100% on the coach. Sides will not take responsibility and has lost her confidence. Sadly, she is going to lose her job before June if she doesn't take her (high paying) job seriously. It takes time for a team to gel, build chemistry, we agree on that. It's the lack of leadership & game planning for the CURRENT roster which is lacking... after seeing the same exact "plays" ran in the 2nd game, as they did last season. Kenny Rogers: "Know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em". Sides to to take her position seriously or sink the ship... her vocals & body language in post-game interviews, words also, are working 100% against her. Indiana is going to lose their next few games, 100% guaranteed, but Sides need to take these next 4-5 days and become a LEADER, reset and rebuild her game plan in the next 48 hours. Shoot, I could coach them better than her right now, literally. I hate to see newer coaches get fired but Sides hasn't done her job for this season. She's not putting in the time or effort or they would at least be running different sets. It's bad for her, bad for CC, bad for the team, and bad for the League. CC held to 9 points is the coach's fault. 5 for 15 looks BAD on paper but there is little to no game design to create open looks for CC... she's trying too hard for her shots. Sorry, got off on a 'rant', but true words, I believe. CC needs to not try so hard but the girls need to play together outside of practice and build that chemistry... the GM needs to demand that Boston gets on a plan with the strength & conditioning team but would that get him/her fired? A woke league is not an honest league.
This team is going to be winless in June. They can't even play the fundamentals of basketball.

Bluder at least blamed the losses on herself but could tell she was working towards solutions. Anyways, it's going to be interesting to see how they battle through all this. Me? I'd greenlight CC22 for 30 shots a game! Let it rain!

Is this the same coach that got the fever the worst record 2 years in a row or is this a new coach? Asking because I have already heard calls for a coaching change... but obviously 2 games would not be nearly enough time to give anyone.
It's her second year and she is working with a terrible team
Her last season sucked. She doesn't have any play making abilities. Last year I felt Boston landed on the terrible team. This coach can't direct a play or her players on what to do on the court. Clark's IQ is better than the coach coz Coach is standing there clueless while Clark figures them out and begins to make buckets but it's too late. Clark doesn't have much time to watch films. The coaching staff should watch their opponents films and have some defensive and offensive plays ready for them. I know she is playing the top 4 teams in the WNBA for her first 4 games but this team looks just like the same team from last year. No improvements. The whole coaching staff needs to be changed. Lin Dunn the GM is making bad decisions. Lin Dunn was good at the Seattle Storm only because she had Sue Bird and I saw Sue Bird step up and direct plays with her teammates on the court. Sue Bird had incredible IQ.

Indiana should play like this. The team essentially has no PLAYMAKER, does not have a good small forward, and has a big problem in point guard and in transition. We see Caitlin trying to do everything but never does one player so aggressively team, not even god michael jordan could do it alone
Christy Side is not a good coach, she has difficulty changing the flow of the game and makes strange to irrational movements during the game

Caitlin is still very very good. Her coach is killing her flow and the teams offense. If fever were smart they would make a a coaching change to anyone else… as soon as possible. This offense is NOT hard to coach.
Caitlin can't even pass the ball the way she's used to. If she telegraphs the ball, she's learned that her teammates can't catch it so when she sent the ball to the player in the corner, Katie Lou maybe? I'm not good on names yet, she sent it at half the speed she used to do in college. I want this team to succeed so bad. Aliyah is having a tough time also and I thought with the two of them, they would do well. I guess it's too early to make that assumption.

Scrap the BS. Pass in and out of traps and set good screens to get CC free to get off. Get rebounds: run and play defense. When her shot falls, you all will begin to eat and play your game. She doesn’t need to adjust to you, you should all be adjusting to her.
And the other teams. You shutting her down, you think that people care that you did? You aren’t shining yourself like you think. You are NOT the movement. If you’re smart, you let her get off a game or two and the crowds stay and grow.

I'm new to WNBA so far from knowledgeable. All I've learned so far is that there's too much pressure on CC.
Didn't the team finish 10 of 12 last season? Shouldn't an achievable goal be to finish higher? There needs to be gradual improvement.
What do you expect from a team that have their opponents focus all defence on the rookie? There are experienced players who should be reliable enough to draw defence away from CC or use the opportunity to score.
I'd be looking at the coach to run the right drills and focus on the basics or find another who can.

I am furious at how the entire Fever team is being coached, period! There are enough talented BB players on this team to at least keep the games competitive and give the Fever a chance of winning. Please bring someone in to stop the bleeding.
Clark gotta run into the paint sometimes. The first bucket was how her game should of been. But instead the physical play made her nervous. The other gaurd for fever didn't need screens. I guess because they have a mid range game. She sits around the three. What team want to play with a gaurd like that. Aces gaurds attact attact attact all getting off the ground. Hitting 3 they open the game up. Clark is only a threat around the 3

Why was Iowa so good? Bottom line: the Hawkeyes were CC22's team and all her team mates and I think even Bluder knew it. CC22 is the sun and the other four just revolve around her. Seems like she is playing a bit handcuffed and I don't like the look on her face. She doesn't look happy. Hopefully we get some Clarkzilla soon. Maybe Sides realizes soon that you can't keep that one down.

This team is young, inexperienced and have had a whopping like 3 weeks together so far. They are going to get dusted by just about every good WNBA team right now and even some of the average teams as well. I would guess after about 15 games or so they will start to settle in a bit. People need to stop with the disappointed comments because they expected this team to compete with the best teams in the league already. Was never going to happen.
Just woke up to the score in my little part of the world. Off the court, wow what a job the management team did to the arena. Sold out, new court and new innovations like the ticket. Look, defeats in life come and go, you pick yourself up, dust yourself down and you go again. Next game is in New York tomorrow don’t think about winning, focus on just play basketball and enjoy it, then the wins will come.
I think Clark should have taken Ice Cube's offer, she would have been allowed to play her way and the fans would have gotten our money's worth. This coach absolutely sucks!!! Half the team is out of shape and don't seem to care at all.

The Fever Have Superb Undisputed Talent Everywhere on this team, but Coach Sides 0MG! WTH is the coach doing here? I mean seriously, this Team could easily run itself far better than having the coach there. This team is not able to utilize its full potential because of the poorly Coached games and substandard Strategy of Coach Sides. This Coach Sides is Trying to Apply Jr. High Basketball Basic Strategy to a Professional WNBA Team! I wasn’t on board before when there was talk of the coach being fired, but after watching this the 2nd Game, and being a diehard Fever fan and knowing Caitlin, because Iam a Hawkeye and have seen every single Caitlin Clark game even through high school, I am fed up with what the coach is doing to This Highly Talented Team! I don’t even know high school coaches that coach like that, and this is WNBA basketball!
