They really are. I have seen lives of elephants been saved due to acts of kindness by Sri Lankan people so many times. Yet, sadly, the environmental policies in Sri Lanka are not very strong, and people in rural areas have to clash with wild elephants frequently for their survival. So I pray that one day, environmental management in Sri Lanka would reach such a hight that these animals won't have to depend on human kindness anymore 🙏
The documentary was nice. Sri Lankan people are so kind. It was nice to see this human - animal bond. David Attenborough speaks charmingly in the background. 😊

Elephant: How dangerous it can be to drive in the middle of wilderness if other elephants come charging at you? However, for a small fee, I can ensure that they won't.
While this is cute, as a Sri Lankan this behaviour is kind of problematic. The human-elephant conflict in Sri Lanka is VERY real. Feeding them on the road is conditioning them to interact with humans in an environment that puts both of us at risk of harm. To prevent this you might find electric fences on the side of the road that keeps them in their habitats
BRO, you are dissecting their habitat by building a freaking road through the forest.Fragmentation of green cover for human purposes is not good for animals as it prevents their movement and shrinks the area they can cover for food. Instead, you should have built a flyover or something which of course a cash strapped Srilankan economy cannot afford.
@@petrichor259 If Sri Lanka can afford a Military, they should as well be able to build animal safe crossings. Most likely is the corruption in Sri lanka preventing this.
