Best live version ever, including any of Steve's that I've heard, frankly. And FINALLY, a bassist who plays the last part the way Rutherford did, without taking short cuts!
A wonderful - fantastic cover! Great job by all. I love that you had two guitarists to play this. It really makes it very authentic. Just a joy to watch the Steppes.
@@XanAxDdu IMO, Hackett has been ruining much of the early material by incorporating saxophone. I've said it before, I'll say it forever: IT JUST DOESN'T FIT. That instrument completely obliterates the darkness & mystique of his early works.
@@Tangento hi, yeah it could also be as you say, anyway you have to remember any new one record is a new project and the live sound of the tour on stage for a new record is any time different because different is how the rules for instruments is set
@@Tangento but first of all times have changed, second point it is not an adsolute new opinion of the artist about its music, it is just a different opportunity he felt to try
@@XanAxDdu With all due respect, you had to have seen his early work in person to understand where I'm coming from. It's like adding a slide whistle to a horror film score. It just doesn't WORK.
Excellent! Complex, smooth, sparkling, scrambles the senses; opportunity to show your musical chops. In a way reminds me of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring!
10/10
Wow.........that's spectacular.
BRILLIANT!!! Love it!!! Thanks for sharing!!! 💝💞💖

That was perfect! Well done!
What a great true tribute version of Ace Of Wands - one of the first Hackett tunes I heard away from Genesis. Too excellent!

Spectacular! The amount of work that you all must have put into this will be well off the chart! Well done.

can't get enough this - what a glorious period of music from SH.
awesome and cool!
This is actually a more faithful version to the album than SH's recent readings of the piece. Well done!
but why steve himself should not have had the possibility to introduce a new sound since 2004?

Peter Matuchniak. Come to Manchester please! You'll be welcome.
+Peter Matuchniak And Birmingham!
This is not "the steps" but "ace of wands"
Sorry, I'm not understanding your point.
@@randygeorgebass the title of the song in the video. The song is not "Thesteps" but "Ace of wands"
@@patrickd701 It says Ace of Wands. The band is called The Steppes.
@@randygeorgebass Sorry /// :( Didn't get it was the name of the band.
But the "Ace of wands" cover is nice :)
Probably because usually, it the name of the band and then the name of the song ;-)
but the cover is great :)
