The original case of this game had the WWF logo on the cover. But, by the time it came out as a part of the "PS2 Greatest Hits" collection, WWF changed to WWE. Therefore, the cover was changed to have the WWE logo and the game remained the same with the WWF logo and dialogue referring to it as WWF
it also happened with smackdown 2 know your role, in the rerelease in 2002 the logo was changed to the ruthless agression era one of that time, and the wwf logo was changed to the wwe one is funny how in that rerelease in the cover art, chyna still appears, even if she already left the company in really bad terms, same for eddie guerrero

It was the first time I got my hands on a wrestling game on ps2. I got The Undertaker and my twin got Jeff Hardy. After that day we played wrestling games everyday for probably 10 years. I’ll never forget this game!

Now that I’m older I realize that this game along with Know Your Role & Shut your Mouth came from The Rock’s catchphrases. Anyway, I miss the simple animations from back then. Very nostalgic
Man watching all these entrances just makes it more apparent that most current themes are absolute garbage, I could tell immediately who these belonged to but if you played a few current themes I would struggle to place many that aren't obvious like Reigns or Rollins
Man since they gave sting a recycled ass song when he came to wwe they should’ve gave him ravens theme idk it seems kind of fitting for stings theme to me

That’s because it’s more realistic today, back then it was more arcade like, and the moves had no weight. Wrestlers would get thrown off a cage and get right back up. It’s better how it is today

Wasn’t a fan of Austin’s theme here, but thankfully the game also had his Disturbed theme so I changed his intro music to that one right away

It was the first WWF game on PS2, and I think it was rushed. Shut Your Mouth was a much better game that came after it.
The Alliance is referenced in the game with the WCW and ECW logos in the Create A Wrestler options.
