I have been in the car audio industry for over 20 years and here I am learning some more great tips from your videos.Great job they are perfect, respects.
Why are guys bitching about tools? He used a router. If you don't own a router you're probably not handy enough to make these. I got a router with a table on sale at Sears for $80.
Awesome video... Thanks for all the hard work on making these videos, really helps everyone out a lot. Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to making mine soon...
Hey I've actually done something similar like this for the front actually without all the fancy stuff. Used Bondi to fill in that gap. Came out great. Love your channel
Can u add a link for the upc bit u are using I cannot find one with 4 bearings like that. Only 2 bearings. I have an 04 tahoe and would like to copy the grill like that.
Love the videos, I know this is an old one but I'm going to be making some pods for my 00 silverado. Do you have a link to that stacked bearing bit you're using? I tried double stacked bearing flush trim bit and it was not working at all lol
Mark, love your channel. Really appreciate all the hard work that you put into these videos. Quick question for you....I am just getting into car audio, and I am overwhelmed by how many companies, speakers, amps, processors, and other equipment is now available. If you had $1000 for just audio equipment, what would you get? (For a real simple sound quality system...nothing for SPL.) thanks! Take care.
I've been digging your video series, and have implemented several of your ideas into my 74 LSA supercharged Corvette. Have you ever had any luck vinyl wrapping a pillar gauge pod? (or how to get the grain look) ThankS!
This gave me ideas how to get my Polk 6x9s into the front doors of my 01 Yukon now I just have to find someone than can do the woodwork? I don’t have all the tools to do it myself.
Hey mark, are you still using the portacable router you made the video on? Just asking because I would like to try this, I have a 02 escalade that has the same grill and going to purchase a router just want to make sure u haven't upgraded it and if you have, what model so I can get 1 i already ordered mobile solutions router bit sets
Marrrrrk!!! Damn can't believe Ima first comment!! Haha. I just got a box design from you can't wait to start building it. My 02 av has the same door panels! I have to so something like this!! Awesome work man great video!
Mabye on here but if you were on Panteon you would've seen it yesterday lol. I as well, got my box designed by Mark for 2 SA 12's, you won't be disappointed because my box slams.
Hey Mark. Can you show us a quick vid on using a single bearing flush trim bit to do the mesh from the door. I'm afraid I'm going to mess up. Cause I just cant hack $200 bucks for that bit being I'm not a shop fabricator- just personal home use type.
Hey Mark, thanks for the work you're doing to educate the car audio community. A these speakers connected to the door pod and not the inner metal skin of the door?
damn that is a nice POD, yes you make it look simple. I will buy a pair for front and back for 6.5 Focal no tweets, with a Focal plexiglass custom piece on above the 6.5 speaker.
JJonescaraudio1 Check out some of my earlier videos for some work arounds to do these steps without these more advanced tools, its like anything though, having the right tool for the job makes the end result much better and easier to obtain.
Yet everyday I have people sending me pics of what they built. Most of them aren't the type of people that look to find excuses why they can't do something. Everything shown in this video can be done with basic tools.
I like this stuff but I need a new car but my car is old but runs very well so I'm Stuck with it for a wile. I tried that fiberglass crap all I got was a sticky pice of shit Hope it drys someday it smells bad
Screws with large flat washers. you want to try and keep the original door panel in tact. But other then that its just Eye candy because a 6.5 will fit that door without this panel added on.
I have been in the car audio industry for over 20 years and here I am learning some more great tips from your videos.Great job they are perfect, respects.
You truly are an audio installation artist. I wish I knew someone like you to hand over my car to make a nice audio setup here in Italy. Cya!
tankjr85 I am sure there are some great shops in Italy, just need to find them! Best of luck, thanks for watching!
Dude, you're a badass. All of your vids are top notch and very inspirational to watch. Too many ideas now!!
Why are guys bitching about tools? He used a router. If you don't own a router you're probably not handy enough to make these. I got a router with a table on sale at Sears for $80.
Every video keeps getting better. Thanks for contributing to the knowledge of the car audio community.
Awesome video! When I die I’m coming back as you! Keep on making these videos!
You know….. anytime someone does something well in particular manufacturing something from scratch … it’s just fun to watch.
Thanks for the tips. Made my custom install way easier.
Very nice! Was glad to see the Fit Kit demo also. I understood how it worked but it's nice to see it. Thanks man.
Lathan Hites No problem! It saves the use of foam tape like I have shown in the past and is much more precise.
Good old-school!
SIMPLE MY ASS !!!!!! This guy is the 007 of the system world lol !!
Looks so simple yet he explained it so complicated
Awesome video... Thanks for all the hard work on making these videos, really helps everyone out a lot. Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to making mine soon...

Would you suggest angling the speakers so they’re aiming at the listener?
How do you make a bigger door pod to hold more speakers? Say 5 or 6.

Really love these videos! Makes taking on these types of builds more manageable!!!
If your using a hart adjustable wrench watch out they tend to slip of the nut or bolt very easy and smash knuckles
Hey mark do you make speaker pods for customer’s
What router table and tools do you use? What brand? Thank you!
"simple" door pods. (>$400 in tools you probably dont have - needed)
simple not cheap
I started off with a jigsaw. Couldn’t do anything fancy like this, but it’s a start!! Simple and cheap at first, complaining won’t solve anything.

JJonescaraudio1 Check out some of my earlier videos for some work arounds to do these steps without these more advanced tools, its like anything though, having the right tool for the job makes the end result much better and easier to obtain.

How To Make Simple Door Pods Using Tools You Can't Afford
Yet everyday I have people sending me pics of what they built. Most of them aren't the type of people that look to find excuses why they can't do something. Everything shown in this video can be done with basic tools.

Anybody with one of these trucks or suvs ever put an 8" in the door?
I like this stuff but I need a new car but my car is old but runs very well so I'm
Stuck with it for a wile. I tried that fiberglass crap all I got was a sticky pice of shit Hope it drys someday it smells bad
when it stays sticky it means you didn't use enough hardener you can go over it agin just add more hardener
Where can I buys these already made?
walmart
Can u make me a pair?
What's the point of this if you don't show how you attached the piece to the door panel?
Screws with large flat washers. you want to try and keep the original door panel in tact. But other then that its just Eye candy because a 6.5 will fit that door without this panel added on.
hi. luv you. bye.
LlamaGumby Love you too
Buy a CNN router table will save a lot of time and time = $$$$$
In my 20 plus years of doing this kind of work ive never once needed a router shield thats the biggest waste of money
Wow I bet you feel pretty important telling a bunch of random people on the internet. Great job here is your "Who gives a fuck" Trophy. Congrats bro!
You shud just make em and sell them I wud buy it make one for my g35? I'll pay you 150 for both doors.
😂 Sorry but $150 isn't even close to what I would need to charge for these.
@@CarAudioFabrication 🤯
If you need pictures of my vehicle I can send them to you
never mind, I see my answer in part 6
😜
Yea but that stacked trim bit is $200 bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can lower and raise the bit as you go around the piece. Just more time consuming.
Hey. Sell me those!
LOL Simple.....
i love your videos but that shit is the farthest thing from"simple" common "joes" dont have all the stuff needed for that. good videos though
